Jeff couldn't be nicer and a better audio visual / home networking partner. His crew was incredibly nice, did great work and exceeded all expectations.

Jeff was extremely helpful from the initial contact. He attempted to troubleshoot the issue over the phone. He was flexible in communicating over text which was great since I was working / multi tasking. When unable to resolve via troubleshooting, we scheduled a time for him to come to the house. Scheduling was very flexible and prompt. He arrived timely and was very thorough diagnosing the issue. He explained the issue as he was fixing the tv and waited for me to test the tv several times/methods before completing his work. We also have an action plan should his resolution end up not being a long term fix. Overall I was very pleased with his knowledge, professionalism and service. I would highly recommend Jeff.

We can't say enough great things about Jeff and his team. It started during his consultation when we brainstormed the best ideas for a very difficult family room set up to mount a TV to the wall or above the fireplace and install corresponding surround sound. We originally wanted all the equipment (amp, DTV receiver, DVD, etc.) hidden in the hall closet but after thinking through cost and practicality decided that was not going to work. This was the first of a very iterative consultation that lasted nearly two hours. Needless to say, with that kind of professional dedication to a job and pure interest that Jeff and his team were the people we wanted to do our electronics (we did get other quotes before meeting Jeff but he was the most impressive and cost, while very competitive, Jeff was worth any premium he charged). In the end Jeff and his team successfully installed/mounted a new 60" TV for us, installed Sonos, reprogrammed our remote and covered up the holes left from a previous surround sound system installed by previous owner. As a follow-up, Jeff came to the house to make sure everything was done by his team as originally communicated. Impressively to us, when we said the outdoor speakers he originally said he could reconnect were not set up properly by his team, he spent the next hour or two getting it all set up correctly and then helping explain how to use the new technology to us. We will use Jeff and his team for any future projects in this house or any future homes.

Jeff and his install team are very professional and provided excellent service. We were impressed by their knowledge and the fact that they knew about the prewired speakers and various other equipment in the IT closet. They clarified exactly where we wanted TVs to be placed and were helpful in providing alternative suggestions too. Additionally, Jeff laid out a plan to get our Sonos system installed and offered options to add to the unit at a later time. We love how easy it is to use our system and how everything is integrated with one remote!

Here are the relevant points I wish to share. If you are seeking the following; (1) an extremely competent service provider,(2) an owner, Jeff Jensen, and a staff that are totally professional, (3) fair value received for costs expended, then HOOK-IT-UP is the group to use. In addition to the above, during the 3 month process of work noted above, we encountered a serious issue with the Charlotte cable provider, Time Warner (the absolutely WORST cable provider in the universe) Jeff stepped in on our behalf and was able, with an enormous amount of patience, to get us the proper equipment and connection we needed. The point is, that if a situation requires above and beyond the call of duty attention!, Jeff will be there for you. A great model for a professional service company, thanks for GREAT service! First of all let me say that my husband and I are not technology wizards and know how to operate our new TV (installed before we met Jeff) at a basic level. It is always a concern and can be intimidating when you invite someone new into your home to help you with technology that you will not understand them whatsoever. This was not the case with Jeff. He was unbelievably kind and patient and did not make us feel badly for not being experts. No attitude! This is very refreshing. Said TV was installed some 8 months ago but the sound was only coming out of the TV. We wanted more of a theater - fuller sound experience which would not cost a bundle of money. I found Jeff from Hook-It-Up on Angie's list and we set up a mutually agreeable time to come over for a consultation. He recommended the Sonos Playbar Speaker System. What we liked is that the speakers are small and contain smart technology to create true surround sound. They would have to raise the TV slightly to accommodate the lengthwise speaker underneath. It was definitely a concern to us if further drilling had to be done into the wall but the drilling was kept to a minimum. The proposal was acceptable and the work began shortly thereafter. During his consultation visit he was able to pinpoint a problem with our wi-fi and corrected it right then and there resulting in my husband's laptop computer running much more quickly. That made him very happy! Next was installation day. One challenge was that the electrical outlet for the TV was not in accordance with code so a new outlet was put in. He said that he didn't notice that issue during the consultation and therefore did not charge us for the extra work. It took about 4 hours to fully set up the system and then we received training during and after the installation. He even came over for a 3rd time to make sure I was comfortable with the sound system and to pick up his check. He also helped me access my music through Sonos and showed various alternatives to play music at varying quality. It was eye-opening and ear-opening as well to hear the difference between a track played at 1/4th of original quality vs. maybe 3/4 or full. He worked with me on solutions to consolidate my music (I have an old Zune, iTunes, Google Play and now Amazon), As an Amazon Prime customer he showed me that I have free movies and music at my disposal. We we thrilled to watch our first movie in high def quality at no charge. Jeff also showed us how to use the existing home system vs. Sonos. I am still getting the hang of that and in a couple more times some will consider me more adept at navigating our new toy.. Bottom line is we would recommend Jeff to anyone. My husband, who is very particular, gave a thumbs up to Jeff and said he supports this positive review. We will use Jeff again and in the near future.

Jeff took time to walk me through the system to help trouble shoot. In no time the system was up and runny just like when he originally installed it. This continuing service is above and beyond anything we could have ever expectted. Thanks once again.

Top flight company and service. I originally tried to arrange to have this done by two other companies, neither of which called me back. This was on February 17, the day immediately after the ice storm. I called Jeff and he called me back immediately. He came over the SAME NIGHT to give me an estimate and to temporarily set up the TV on a stand pending final mounting, which was set for Thursday, February 19. The next day, February 18, Jeff called and they had an opening and would it be OK if they did it that afternoon. I said OK. His crew showed up on time and the performed the installation flawlessly. The painting, which was in the spot now taken up by the TV, was carried upstairs and remounted on another wall. I cannot say enough in praise of Jeff and his crew. Professional from start to finish. Would definitely use again if needed.

Jeff said he thought I had a problem with my internet provider when we talked on the phone, so I called my service provider and they had me run a speed test and then troubleshoot their modem. As it turned out I had some communication problems between their modem and my wireless system. All was fixed and problem solved. Jeff came as scheduled and looked at my antenna which was mounted on my roof. This was an older antenna and found that it did not provide enough signal strength for the channels I wanted to receive. He switched it with a new different type and checked out the reception on my three televisions. Followup: About a week passed and I changed my tv system by adding an amplifier and adding a dvr. I was not getting the reception I though I should so I called Jeff and explained what I did and he sent his technicians over to check things out. They had to adjust the position of the antenna on my roof and checked signal strength of the stations I wanted to receive. Now all seems to be working fine and I would recommend Jeff and his crew to anyone wanting help.

The guys where on time and worked well with the guys who were building the outdoor Kitchen area. Communicated with me (the home owner at all time). They dug trenches around the pool area laid speaker wire and covered it back. Had to wire pool area with cable to house and also installed sono system. Job was well done.

This is the second job that Jeff has done for me. Job was done very well. I had problems connecting to my old wireless, and with the new updated I have wireless everywhere on my property without any drops. It is truly wonderful. TV works perfect. The guys had to re-wire cable through out the house, did so without any problems.

We are very detail oriented and quality conscious. Great job communicating before, during and even touching base afterwards to answer any questions my wife and I had. I am in the customer service business and I give Hook-It-Up the highest recommendation I can give.

I couldn't have been more pleased with this company and the service provided. I requested information via Angie's List and he responded and then called me within an hour. He was extremely busy but managed to fit me within a week. He even offered to come out on Christmas Eve if having the t.v. mounted by Christmas was important to me!! I certainly would never have expected or had him come here on Christmas Eve but it was very kind of him to offer. Jeff, the owner, came out with 2 gentlemen who did the work. They were all extremely nice and professional. I was 100% pleased with the service and the job. While my installation was not complicated, I am completely confident they are excellent with any level of complexity and I would recommend them to everyone.

Jeff was the second vendor that came to my residence. He in fairness was given the list (without pricing) of all components and plans the first vendor quoted. Jeff saw the Wi-Fi signal was weak and recommended a router to boost the signal (we had experienced problems with the Wi-Fi and found his suggestion to be valid). He also told us the universal remote suggested by the first vendor was more that what we needed to serve the needs of our components. He priced out a quote for us on site. He quoted appreciably lower than the first vendor (approx. $400.00) while incorporating a more elaborate set up (router). We agreed on price and date of installation. On the date of installation Jeff, and his men, Gary and Brogdan, showed up at the time he specified. The installation was meticulous and professionally done. The installation of TV and sound bar was well done . The installation of the new router (in a hall way closet) was in the same manner as the installation down stairs, well done. When the physical portion of the work was completed the home was left as if they had never been there, no mess what so ever. Gary and Brogdan left Jeff to complete the "neural" part of the job, and this is what convinced me I had the best vendor I could have chosen. I have time warner cable for my internet phone security and TV. In order to enable the new router to function properly the existing modem would have to "bridge" the TW Cable router to the new wireless router. Jeff encountered problems with this to the tune of hours ( the problem being making the bridge operation from and in cooperation with Time Warner Techs.) He got it up and running . He left and shortly afterward the "bridge" failed and with it the Sonos connectivity went down. I called Jeff and he immediately came back contacted TW Cable techs and resumed efforts. The problem continued, and to his credit Jeff contacted TW Cable and brought the newest Router they offer to my house . He installed the router (the next day) and worked for a good couple of hours with the tech from time warner again to establish what has since been a well functioning system. In all Jeff contacted and worked with and through TW Cable techs 3 times to accomplish what was necessary. He also had the good sense to put the security router behind my new wireless router as an added level of security. Appreciated and something I would not have thought of. In conclusion, Jeff's willingness to take the task to full completion speaks to character, patience and a good deal of skill. He had to have absorbed some of that clock time to achieve the level of satisfaction I enjoy with the system he installed. His employees were exemplary, courteous and clean. I would definitely recommend Jeff to anyone who cares to read this. I would not ordinarily write to this degree, but Jeff's honesty and business acumen deserve a good review. Thank you Ralph Paride

It took awhile to get all elements programmed to the universal remote,(TV,surround sound, and DVD player) but the technician was very knowledgeable, patient and professional. I have called him again with another problem. I highly recommend this company and I will recommend him to others.

Jeff, Gary and Brogdon did a great job for us. Our home was built in the late 90's with a tv nook above fireplace in family room. The nook was taller than it was wide and would accommodate a 42 inch flat screen, but nothing larger. The tv was just too high for easy viewing. They fished all speaker wires for surround sound through walls and ran HDMI cable from nook to new location (furniture cabinet). They also ran wired internet connection from office to components for better movie streaming via Netflix. We had a painting/drywall contractor frame in tv nook, install drywall and paint to remove it completely. Jeff and team came back to mount tv and re connect all components. The new 65 inch Samsung flat screen is perfect and no components are visible. With components no longer below tv, the tv is now only about 6 inches above mantel for perfect viewing height. A+ job and while I did not get other estimates, I thought his pricing was fair and reasonable. Ryan Johnson

We contacted Hook-It-Up and Jeff got back to us very quickly to set up a date to come to our house. Even though he was slammed with appointments around the Thanksgiving holiday, he was able to accommodate an appointment for us on Sunday. Jeff showed up several minutes early and got right to work helping us identify and solve the issues with setting up our home theater system. He was super friendly and knowledgeable on helping us set up all our devices to communicate to one another. He also set up our remote to make controlling our system more simplified for users like us who are not so tech-savvy :) We will definitely use him again and strongly recommend him to others!!!

Jeff was very professional, prompt and informative! We received a few quotes from other A/V service companies and although Jeff was not the lowest, we felt confident in his knowledge and abilities. He was the only one who told us that we could hide our cable box inside our cabinet and use our existing remote without having to open the cabinet doors and not have to invest in a $300+ universal remote. All other companies told us that it wasn't possible - Jeff proved them wrong! Additionally, Jeff quoted us a price range and we ended up paying under his lowest estimated cost. That never happens! The two guys that did most of the installation were superb as well - very knowledgeable, quick and efficient! Needless to say, we would highly recommend Hook-it-Up for all of your A/V needs!! My wife and I just purchased a house that was pre-wired with a Whole Home Distributed audio system. Per the final contract with the sellers, they took all the components that drove the system with the exception of the in-ceiling speakers. They also took the 5.1 external surround sound speakers that were in the den, as well as the Elan Controllers that integrated with the in-wall keypad control systems in all the rooms in the house. The only reason any of this matters is that I had originally contacted Jeff Janson at Hook-It-Up about just getting the original system up and running with components that I would purchase off ebay. Jeff came and looked at what I had, but was not confident in being able to get the old Elan controllers reprogrammed since the original system was from 2004. Over the course of the next week, both Jeff and I tried to find someone that could reprogram these controllers, but with no success at any price. For that reason, I decided to go with the Sonos Connect system and use the Sonos Controller App as my system controller. Jeff and two helpers arrived on 9/13 to take care of phase one, which consisted of getting all the wiring for a 5.1 Home Theater run from the den on the first floor to my wiring closet on the second floor, as well as getting wiring up above the fireplace for the TV. They then assembled the TV mount and mounted the 64 inch TV on the wall. People either have the ability hide/organize wiring, or they don't. While there is probably no less than 200 feet of speaker wire, coaxial, ethernet, HDMI, digital audio wires in my Home Theater system, not a single wire is visible from the viewing area. Also, they left every wire labeled and in exacty the right place for me to do the easy part of wiring in the cable box, AV receiver, Roku, and DVD player. They finished all of this in about 7 hours. The next week, Jeff came solo for phase 2 and installed the six Sonos Connects in my wiring closet, connecting them to two 12 channel amplifiers that drove 20 speakers throughout (and outside of) the house. Jeff was able to make the two 10 year old amps work with this brand new Sonos technology like they were made for each other. Just like with the Home Theater project, all the wires (and there are a lot of them), are well organized and labeled. The experience has been amazing, so much better than what I would have had with the old Elan system. The Sonos user-interface is so intuitive that even my wife can dial in any music she wants, in any room she wants it, at the volume level she wants, using just her phone. I even pulled the old Elan keypads out of the wall in the den and kitchen since we were having those areas painted, and then had the painters (Painting and Moore - another big thumbs up) fill in the holes.

Fantastic Job from beginning to end.

I had an issue with my TV stating it was not connected to HDMI 3 and it was around 9pm. I have used Jeff and HOOK-IT-UP in the past so I knew that I could contact him at this late hour and ask him to give me a call the following day to set up a time to come by and fix the problem. Jeff so graciously contacted me within minutes and was very patient and helpful. After about 45 - 50 minutes on the phone with Jeff, he walked me through a few things and figured out what was wrong and had us up and running the same night! Now that is CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have a few things on my to-do list and I will be contacting Jeff and HOOK-IT-UP again.

Jeff and his team arrived on time and were very professional and polite. They were meticulous in ensuring that the television was positioned just the way I wanted it, they made sure that everything functioned properly, and they cleaned up when they were finished. I would recommend Jeff and his team without hesitation and will look to working with them again if the need ever arises.
