HOOK-IT-UP

Jeff is an amazingly patient guy. Dealt with the complex receiver issues, dealt with my poor hearing, and was very patient. He and quot;hooked-it-upand quot;. Not only will I highly recommend him to others, but he will have my future business as well!

Excellent! I have a very hectic schedule. Jeff was very responsive and accommodating. He is very meticulous and shows great pride in his work. Jeff came and provided an estimate. We scheduled two weeks out in order to accommodate both of our schedules. Due to an emergency job (wires cut at an office building in Raleigh), Jeff was not able to make our appointment, but called well in advance to let me know the situation and to potentially reschedule. He called numerous times to provide updates and we decided to reschedule. Jeff came after business hours and spent the necessary time to move all of the cables. As with old houses, the job took longer than expected (due to the lame job previous owners had done with wiring under the house). Jeff never complained or looked for excuses. He just did the job, right! Next was connecting the wiring to the stereo and other audio equipment. Did I mention my stereo equipment is from 1990. High end at the time, but very dated in today's environment. He was able to connect up everything and it works like a charm. I couldn't be happier.

Jeff was very easy to work with and did a solid job with my new system. I ordered most of the equipment myself, however, Jeff and I quickly realized that the in-wall speakers I had purchased would be difficult to install due to an inordinate amount of drywall studs in my fireplace. I did work with Jeff on the install so we decided It simply would not be worth the time and cost to cut through studs that seemed to be 8 inches apart instead of the typical 16 inces. I also did not like the lack of adjustments in the TV mount I bought. This is where I think Jeff really made the difference - he suggested a soundbar and mount from a local AV supplier of his and I have to say, I am extremely happy with the quality of this gear. Along with the rear surround speakers and subwoofer I bought (Polk) the system sounds terrific. I was skeptical that the gear from Jeff's supplier would be of good quality but I must say, the quality is excellent and the prices were good - both the TV mount and soundbar are just as good as some of the best name brands out there. Jeff showed a propensity to tackle problems like this with a calm demeanor and always proposed solid solutions. Jeff is willing to go the extra mile to make the customer happy, a rare quality these days! A few suggestions I would give anyone looking to install a new TV and surround sound system would be: 1.) If you don't have much experience with audiovisual systems, let Jeff specify a system for you (even with the extensive experience I have in AV, I know that problems tend to arise and a good AV consultant can save you a few headaches). 2.) Sit down with Jeff and run through all aspects of what you want your system to do and what your budget is. 3.) Set a schedule for installation that allows for an occasional snag or two - that means that you should add extra time into your install schedule. AV installs typically reveal a few unknowns as you get into the project and this is completely normal whether you are working with a small company like Jeff, or a very large company as I do on a regular basis. That being said, Jeff honored his original quote even though this job took longer than either of us anticipated. As I said earlier, Jeff's pricing is very competitive and I am pleased with Jeff's work. My family and I are enjoying our new entertainment system.

Jeff was a pleasure to deal with. He provided an estimate after inspecting the site, then arrived on time and worked continuously until it was done, and everythng was cleaned up and in working order. He then explained how all settings had to be made, and walked us through the process until we thoroughly understood.

Jeff arrived as scheduled, listen to our problems, fixed everything rather quickly and explained how everthing worked.

GREAT! Understood my goals and my budget allowed. Gave me component configuration options, price quote beforehand and supplied everything I did not want to take the time to purchase on my own. Very courteous, neat wiring job (including in the crawlspace). Mindful of little things like what you may have recording on TV during his working time, as well as not scaring your housepets. Hook-it-up can do a full turn-key job for you, or work within your existing components and materials on hand to tie it all together for you.

I contacted Jeff regarding improving our audio visual entertainment equipment. He was quick to respond, professional and knowledgeable about our needs. He understood what I wanted and explained in a way that I could understand what would work best for my home. He is polite, professional, and very well-informed.

Went very well! He came when he said he would and did a great job. The speakers look great and you dont see the wires. He mounted a TV that looked great too. Due to the directv people causing a delay and a county inspector delaying our electrical contractor, Jeff had to come back at a later date to finish the work. He stayed in touch during the delay and was able to finish the job and teach me how to use the components. I would highly recommend this company.

Purchased the Angie's Big Deal for this company so received 2 hours at a reduced rate. He was great and gave us more time at a very reduced rate. Although I thought I knew exactly the type of TV mount I wanted when Jeff arrived, he was able to suggest alternatives that hadn't considered and I ended up going with an option that I liked much better. He even suggested the perfect piece of furniture for my new flat screen! Prior to leaving, he made sure that everything was working properly and that I completely understood how to operate and troubleshoot all of my equipment. Jeff was incredibly patient when it came to answering all of my questions and giving me feedback about not only how to get the most out of my new equipment, but also how to ensure that my existing electronic equipment was operating as efficiently as possible. There were so many extra things that Jeff did in the course of installing my equipment that I can't even begin to list them all. I'll just say that he went far above and beyond what I expected of him, that the quality of his work was exceptional and that I walked away feeling that his number one priority was making sure that the customer was completely satisfied. I will definitely be using him for any home automation or electronic needs I have in the future and I would highly recommend him to others.

His price was more than another guy but the other guy wouldn't have done as much work. His service was great. It took 2 days and then he had to come back again. He is a very nice individual, friendly, and easy to work with.

Jeff was very professional and took his time to make sure job was done correctly. After originally telling me he would not be available for a couple of weeks he was nice enough to squeeze me in. If you don't want to roll the dice with Geek Squad, Jeff is a great alternative at a comparable or even better price.

During the day on Sunday, he did some research to find out what was wrong and on Monday afternoon, he came to my home with the proper equipment to fix my television and surround sound system and had it up and running in about an hour and a half.

We rarely write reviews but were so impressed with Hook It Up that we felt that we had to share. Jeff was wonderful to work with and very professional. After calling multiple other companies listed on Angie's list, he was the only one who promptly responded. He showed up on time for the free estimate and his quote was accurate which is unlike other companies that we called. His price was competitive and fair. Unlike other companies, he will not try and sell you the stereo and mounting equipment at a mark up in order to make profit off of the customer (see our review for Sound Advice). He actually directed us to where to buy the needed wires for the job in order to keep costs low. He was accessible by phone for questions prior to our appointment. We found Jeff to be pleasant, knowledgeable and methodical. We had a difficult TV mounting/wiring situation because the wires had to be guided through an extremely tight space in the drywall and come out to our bookcase located next to the fireplace. But Jeff was an excellent problem solver and the cosmetic result at the end was fabulous - not a wire in sight! He worked diligently for 7 hours and was a pleasure to have in our home during that time. We will not hesitate to use Jeff again or refer him!

I found Jeff through one of Angie's List "Big Deals". The job was a bit more complex than normal because I have plaster walls. He was totally professional, timely, and courteous. I was completely satisfied with his work. He took great care in making sure that the TV worked perfectly, and cleaned up all the dust and particles from the drilling. He even came back to program my fancy remote for me! He has since returned to deal with a problem n one of my other TVs and recommended the most economical fix. He did not charge me for this visit at all! The quality of his work was excellent. I strongly recommend Jeff and his Hook-It-Up company.

Jeff helped with the tv mount for a 58 inch plasma tv as well as connect the relevent components to the tv. Couldn't have gone any better. Found jeff through angie's list. He setup a consult appt, at which time he reviewed the specs and my requirements. He gave me an estimate for the job. I called him back because his price was very competitve and reasonable. He took 50 percent deposit upfront for the materials and setup an appt for the install. He arrived on time for the install well prepared. He was careful in his process and took the time to explain what he was doing. Once the tv mount was done and the components connected, he cleaned up the debris from the drilling with a hand vac and also cleaned the tv screen. Overall jeff's A rating is well deserved and would reccomend Jeff anyday. Thanks

When I first called Jeff, I left a message and he got back to me within an hour and he was able to come take a look at my job that evening. I had a 50and quot; Plasma TV (that died) removed from over my fireplace and replaced with a 40and quot; LCD and hooked up my home theatre, surround sound. He came, checked out the project and gave me a price quote. No charge for the visit. Nice. He came the a few days later to complete the job. He offered to buy the Plasma so he took that off my bill so I only ended up paying $50 for the hook up. He was very thorough checking and rechecking the sound. It took a bit of time but I'm very happy with the service, his responsiveness, pleasant manner and of course the cost for about 3 hours of his time. Hook it Up...will hook you up so I certainly recommend.

Overall a very good experience. He was meticulous and was respectful of my home. He also followed my instructions about the need for everything to be symmetrical to the letter.

Jeff mounted a 42" TV above our fireplace, installed the AV hookups, and the power for the TV. Jeff was easy to get a hold of, did a great job surveying the home on a pre-installation visit, and did a fantastic job performing the work. He brought his own materials to keep the home clean and then cleaned up when he was done. Highly recommend Jeff for any home AV needs!
