HOOK-IT-UP

Jeff Janson, owner of Hook It Up, performed all the work himself. Did a great job in guiding us in the right direction re equipment and installation options. Jeff is very knowledgeable and especially patient in explaining options and how to operate the system. While the work done with the Angie's List coupon was done some time ago, we have since called on Jeff to do additional work (as well as for explaining some of the in's and out's of the system originally installed.

Everything went well and the final product surpassed our expectations!

Jeff came over the night before the actual service call to see what it was that we wanted to do and give us an estimate on his services. Jeff and his assistant Scott came over the the next day. They were running a bit late, but Jeff called to let me know they were running slightly behind. Once they arrived they jumped right on it and started resolving all the issues that we needed their help. It wasn't long before Jeff and Scott had addressed and resolved all of the items on our list. They did a great job and were very tidy in the process. Their work definitely exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be happier with their knowledge and skills. I would give Hook It Up higher than an A, if it was possible. In these days of high technology and outsourced customer service, it is pure delight to come across gentlemen like Jeff and Scott. It isn't easy to find such professionals these days, but with the help of Angie's list, we found Hook It Up and will definitely use them whenever the need arises for their expertise in the future.

I got three estimates before selecting Hook-It-Up. Jeff's was the best. He responded quickly and came to my house to discuss my options and provided a detailed estimate. He proposed several speaker purchase options and to help me decide arranged a visit to another customer's house to listen to their system. After listening to their system I was convinced to go with Jeff's recommendation. The installation went well with no problems. Jeff and Scott kept me appraised of their progress and asked my opinions as needed. Overall, I am very pleased with the service. Jeff and Scott were very enthusiastic, professional and friendly. I would certainly call on them for any further jobs and recommend them without hesitation. In comparison to the other bids I am certain that I got the best deal because Hook-It-Up did a high quality job at the best price.

Jeff (owner) was AMAZING! When he came for our estimate (free), he is so friendly and super professional. We had only planned on mounting our TV, but knew we wanted surround sound in the future. We asked that he give us a quote for both. I figured we would have some cube looking speakers hanging off our walls but when Jeff suggested flush in wall speakers- I was shocked! His response: It's all about the aesthetics. Once he said that- I KNEW Jeff was the right person, but was worried about the cost. He provided an itemized estimate that listed every piece of equipment, cost, and the discount on cost by getting our equipment through him. We ended up saving just over $600 on equipment alone! Consider the amount of work and time do the job- we were thrilled with estimate and booked the install right away. NOTE- he will need a deposit when you schedule (ours was 50%). This shouldn't be an issue- just good to be aware :) Jeff showed up with his helper and they spent the entire day doing a FLAWLESS job. With 5 flush in wall speakers, there was a lot of dust everywhere from cutting in to the drywall. BUT Jeff was prepared and had cloths and a swiffer to clean everything up like they were never even there- even going as far as taking our placemats out on our balcony to shake them out! We were THRILLED with the finished product- but it didn't end there! Jeff stayed as long as we needed to teach us the ins and outs of using our new system, had us download apps on our iPhones/iPads that turn these devices into additional remote controls (so cool), and tons of features of our TV and other equipment that we didn't even know existed. I SO appreciated him taking the time after a full day of installation to make sure we would get the most out of our system. I have been recommending Hook It Up to everyone I know- don't go any where else for A/V installation in town!!!!! You'll be happy you called Jeff!

From the first time we met with Jeff he was professional, thorough and honest. We had a tricky installation for some of our TVs and were looking for quite a bit of work to be done and Jeff stepped up. Jeff's technology background serves him well given the interconnected nature of home systems these days. We were happy that despite having to run numerous wires there were no unnecessary holes or other collateral damage to speak of when Jeff was done. He treated our home as if it was his own and it showed in the high quality work he did for us. The job took longer than Jeff anticipated but that was as much a function of his perfectionism as it was the install itself, and it is important to note that this did not translate into additional costs to us when he was finished. Jeff is a true professional and very good at his craft. I will use him again and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent installation.

Jeff was very responsive from inital contact. On the day of service, he called when he was on his way. He and Scott were very professional and completed the work in a timely fashion. They made sure to explain the work during and after the cables were installed.

I have used Jeff a few times now, and have always been very pleased with his service. This last time, I wanted to be able to stream video from my iPad to my TV. I called Him and he reommended I buy apple tv. He came and installed it and taught me how to use it. It was more complex than normal, as my flat screen is large and heavy, and the wires go through the wall to a closet behind. He was very thorough, neat and patient. I strongly recommend him and would definitely use him again. He is available to answer follow up questions and did for me.

We had moved three different times and had various stereo components from sounds systems in each home. The sound system in our present home had never been properly set up. We contacted Jeff to come out and set the system up properly for us. We had been unable to get FM and had to use multiple remotes to use the system. We asked Jeff to simplify our existing system using existing equipment if possible and if not possible we could purchase additional equipment. Jeff arrived exactly as promised at 8:00 a.m. He spent time listening carefully to each of us to get a feel for what we were looking for in our system. He examined all of our current equipment and made recommendations. Our equipment had been purchased over a 12 year period so some of the components needed updates. With Jeff's help, we selected the equipment we would use and Jeff proceeded to do all of the updates. This was very tedious as it involved finding sites on internet and even calling the manufacturers. He stuck with it. He has tremendous patience. I told him he has the patience of Job! Our plasma TV was over 10 years old and approaching the end of its life expectancy. It was an early model and did not have any high def ports. We could have purchased a new receiver at a cost of about $400. that would have worked with our TV but we decided it was more cost effective to put that money towards replacing our current TV with a new one. We had not researched TVs at all. Jeff recommended a TV that would fit our space and fit our needs. He shopped for it on line and in town. The best price was locally and in stock. He and his assistant picked it up and brought it back. Jeff spent more time with us than he charged us far. He was very patient with us as my husband and I had conflicting ideas about what we wanted. He helped us work though the decisions to a very positive outcome. We are delighted with our system now. It is absolutely perfect. The sound is incredible. Jeff was very sensitive about the asthetics as well. It looks great and all the wires are tied up and labeled. We could not be more pleased. It is obvious that Jeff is most interested in giving superior customer service. It is rare these days. it was a very refreshing experience. He was professional as was his assistant. He cleaned up the area before he left. He even volunteered to look through our large box of electronic wires and tell us which we should keep and which were outdated. We would definitely contract with Jeff again and have already recommended him to our neighbor. We both can now use our remote which is very simple. We are confident for the first time in using our system.

Jeff and his employees did an AMAZING job! They were professional, courteous, respectful of our property, prompt... I just can't say enough good things about "Hook It Up". They handled all of our equipment with care and made our transition from one house to another so easy! In addition, they have continued to follow-up and help us get all the "kinks" out of the system. I would HIGHLY recommend this company!!!

Jeff was very personable, knowledgeable with outstanding results. The system works better than the initial installation. With no hesitation to I highly recomment Jeff for any AV projects or needs. The workmanship warranted the charges which were right on what his initial estimate stated.

We had old analog connections for an old plasma TV that died and put in a new LCD. We couldn't use the same cables because the technology had changed so much and we couldn't run the HDMI cables though the walls ourselves. Hook It Up was great. We had a coupon but it was a complicated job and we went over our time allowed. We gladly paid it. It was a very professional job and we are very satisfied.

Jeff initially did work for me under an Angie's List special. He spent more time than he had contracted for and got my ceiling speakers working again. Later, Jeff set up a tv for me on my porch and was inovative and thorough in his work. His price was reasoable and he was punctual. When he was delayed, he called me withan update.

Jeff did a very thorough and comprehensive job. He had to go in through the crawl space - it was very involved. He had great recommendations for equipment that we needed and for helping us plan how our total home theater would work. Jeff stuck to the estimate even though one part of the installation took a little longer than planned. Jeff even helped us install an app on our iPhone/iPads to control our receiver. He "trained' us on our new system and has been available to us when we've had questions after he was gone.

Jeff came out quickly to my residence to evaluate needs and estimate work. Spent much time planning and assessing job to be done. That isn't something that many others seem to do anymore, and I felt he was responsible and had that and quot;measure twice, cut onceand quot; philosophy. Made follow up appointment for work , and he arrived promptly at the specified time. He put out pads to sheild floors and desks and really took care to watch out for household items. Got down to business and did the install. Everything works as it should. Price was fair and service was great. I highly recommend this company.

This the the 2nd or 3rd time I have had Jeff to my house to work on different parts of my home theater setup. At this point, he is the only person I will let touch any of my components! The first time he came to my house (last fall), it was to estimate installing a small flat panel TV and a three shelf wall unit in my guest room. While he was here looking at that, I picked his brain about other things I wanted done to the setup in my living room. What I really appreciated about Jeff was that he was willing to give me unbiased advice on remotes and components whereas other home theater folks were affiliated with certain brands and only wanted to sell me those. Based on his recommendations I decided to go ahead and buy a universal remote (Logitech 1100), a soundbar (Polk) and Apple TV for him to install when he came back out to wall mount the small TV in the guest room. Needless to say, it was a lot of work and took several trips, but I'm very pleased with everything. My main goal was to have a remote where I could tap the picture on the touchscreen and all of the right components would sync themselves and turn on as needed. It's so nice to tap the little "watch DVD" icon and within 10 seconds the DVD is ready to play! He was patient in showing me how everything worked and stressed that I was very welcome to call him if I had any questions or forgot how anything worked. Since the first visit he's been back to fix some sound issues, switch out an additional component and set up a new TV in the master bedroom. I am not electronically inclined in the slightest, so I really, really appreciate Jeff's expertise. I will not hesitate to have him back in the future and highly recommend him.

Jeff did a great job. His initial bid was extremely competitive and he seemed much more flexible and willing to talk through my (many) questions and ideas. His work was flawless and he juggled his schedule to fit us in so we would be hooked up by the time we moved back into our house after a kitchen renovation. He followed up as well to check that everything was working correctly and helped me adjust our settings.

Jeff's service is always excellent. He arrives when scheduled, but if he has a delay, he will notify me. He works efficiently and is always helpful with suggestions. He makes certain that he is performing the requested service and wants to make it right.

If you need advise and expert installation, look no further! Jeff is the guy who will spell out options and can make a system surpass your expectations on any budget. I called Jeff for an estimate and he was one of three I called from Angie's List. He was the immediate winner. He was prompt, professional and very thorough in his explanation of services as well as the scope of the work. He was also flexible as we designed the system on the fly. Nothing seemed to bother him as we shifted the entire project from one type of installation to something different. Even this change was fairly priced and the results were great. I would highly recommend Jeff to anyone who is looking for a quality installation of audio/video components.

I had purchased an Angie's Big Deal for Hook-it-up services. Jeff arrived at my house at the scheduled time and spent several hours resolved the sound issues, installing the Roku device and synching up the Logitech Harmony remote. At the end of the appointment there were several outstanding issues, so I scheduled Jeff to come back the next evening to resolve them. The next night he resolved those issues and also provided some assistance with several TVs and DVD players in my house. Jeff was very professional and pleasant to work with. He was able to explain everything in terms that a non-technical person like me could understand. I was thrilled to get the sound fixed and have everything else working the way it was supposed to! I would highly recommend his services to anyone who needs this type of technical support.
