HOOK-IT-UP

This was a relatively complex install that involved getting power, video, and ethernet connectivity to a television mounted into a full-wall, functioning, wood-burning brick fireplace. | |We are thrilled with the quality of the work. I highly recommend Hook-It-Up. The installation went extremely well. Jeff and Dave showed up right on time, did a very professional job, and are very personable. The television looks great and is perfectly mounted above the mantle. Dave programmed our existing Universal remote and actually improved its overall functionality in the process. I hadn't originally planned to buy a blu-ray but Jeff's price was very competitive and it made for a better installation. Keep in mind that they are very much in demand so patience may be required until they can schedule the installation. I found it to be very much worth the wait and plan to use them again on future projects.

I initially called Jeff because of his excellent Angie's List scores. I wanted to get the speakers installed with in-wall speaker wire and on wall mounts, all of which I provided, before the holidays. I called Jeff at Hook-It-Up and few other high ranking service providers, and Jeff was the only one who didn't charge a trip charge on top of the install. Plus his prices seemed comparable to others AND he said he could squeeze in the job before the holidays. I met with Jeff the Sunday before the installation, on 12/15, so he could review the job and confirm the scope of work and price. He arrived promptly as scheduled, looked clean cut, and was very personable. One highlight is that when we spoke on the phone to set up the appointment, I apparently didn't leave my phone number, so he tracked me down via the internet to find my number so we could communicate. Pretty impressive. Anyway, he spent about an hour looking over the bonus room, assessing the speakers I was going to use, along with the speaker mounts and wire to be sure it would all be satisfactory for the job. We agreed on the deal and then set a time for the following Friday, 12/20 at 1 pm. On 12/20, he texted me and called my home to report that the morning job was running long and that he would be delayed until 2 pm...then 3 pm. He kept us informed about his delays so we knew what to expect. These things happen, of course, in the world of contracting, and Jeff stood out by communicating his status. When he arrived, they completed the work in about 4 hours as estimated. Bottom line, the speakers look fantastic and very professional. The wires are all labeled and connected into the wall plate and simply look organized and again, professional. And they completed the work without making any holes in the walls to fish the speaker wire! When they finished the work, they vacuumed the carpet and baseboards and cleaned up the waste from the packaging. In fact, I had purchased two types of mounts, and Jeff tried them both to pick the better model. He repackaged the unused model I wasn't going to use so I could return it to the vendor who sold it to me. Finally, after the work was done, he turned on my system and tested the speaker levels so ensure not only that the connections were right, but also that the volumes we appropriate. Finally, we decided to add a wire for a sixth surround speaker due to the configuration of the room, and Jeff didn't like the way the speaker mount was going to support the 6th speaker (which was going to be ceiling mounted versus wall mounted as he had done for all others). He told me that he would look for a suitable ceiling mount for the last speaker and then come back to install the last speaker when I purchased it. I highly suggest you check out Jeff at Hook-It-Up. He is a personable contractor who communicates well and does what he says he is going to do. And the end result is first rate. Like the speakers he installed, his work speaks volumes about his desire to satisfy his customers.

He was incredibly reliable as always, and they do fantastic job. I experience with them has been awesome as always. He is obviously very much in demand. I had to wait almost three weeks to get on the schedule, but I knew that going in. So, he had set the appointment up in advance to accommodate my timeline. Then, I think he was prompt and showed up on time. His work was incredibly professional. He left no mess, no damage to the walls, mounted the TV's perfectly, and delivered in a cost effective way I must say.

After we installed a new projector, our remote didn't work well. We needed our remote synced with all of our devices. We have had home theater companies out to work on our system before, but Hook-It-Up far surpassed their service and price! Jeff was very professional....walked me through the system after he had it all synced up...and charged a very fair price. Next time we need work...any work done on our home theater system, Jeff will be the only one we call. Thanks Jeff!

They wired up a 5.1 Surround Sound system for our bonus room, and gave us the tutorial on how to use it. We had pre-existing surround sound wired up for in-ceiling speakers from the builder. What we wanted, was in wall speakers for the front 3 and to keep the 2 existing in-ceiling speakers in the rear. Jeff and Gary used their wire to mount my speakers in the front and used the pre-wire in the rear to mount the 2 speakers in the rear. The sound is amazing and the quality of the work is amazing. I chose to provide my own surround sound system for the setup. I would recommend using Jeff and Gary without hesitation. Their professionalism and attention to detail is second to none. I called 6 places on Angie's List for this work to be done, and I chose Jeff and Gary because of their knowledge, price, and professionalism.

We have a home entertainment and stereo setup to which we added a new Vector Research receiver. We already have two receivers in the setup for different purposes, but added the VR to leverage our Infinity speakers. Jeff contacted my husband right away to get an idea of what we wanted and decide how long it might take. He and associate Gary arrived as scheduled, discussed our plan and asked enough questions to make sure they understood. Gary offered a couple options to accomplish what we wanted, even bringing up some considerations we had not thought of! Once we were in agreement, the work was done professionally and carefully; all components were checked out and they made sure each was working as we wanted, including the components that were not affected, just to be sure nothing had been changed inadvertently. They cleaned up the work areas and made sure everything was back in place. They were courteous, professional and completed the work very quickly, Would definitely recommend Hook-it-up to anyone needing home audio and stereo assistance.

Superior result. Jeff and Gary always pre-scheduled their time, were on time every time, and left my home better than they found it every time they came. They were responsive to my requests and we worked easily together to achieve optimal results. They were very patient with me as I asked frequent questions to better understand my new audio/video system. While the project took a little longer than expected, that was a small price to pay for he quality of the equipment and professional service. Also, the cost was nearly right on top of budget and initial estimate which far exceeded the results I experienced on our projects. I would hire Jeff again in a heartbeat!

We had increased our DSL speed but sadly, our devices weren't communicating with one another. Jeff came and made it all work. He consolidated our network (2 routers and 2 NetGear devices all of which, I already owned). Now we have great signal strength throughout the house. Most importantly, he called a couple of days later to make sure everything was working well. Will call Hook It Up again and recommend to my friends.

It went excellent. Jeff was very professional and responsive, starting with the quote and continuing all the way through the installation. I will definitely use Hook-It-Up in the future and can highly recommend there services to anyone.

I called Jeff because I had a tv installed above my fireplace a month ago and suddenly I began to get an error message that my and quot;HDMI connection has been compromised.and quot; TimeWarner couldn't help as they stated it was a cable issue behind the wall, so the technician ran the cable line directly to the TV; which meant the cable was running down from the TV, over the fireplace to the box. The company that installed the original wiring during construction didn't return several of my calls, so that is when I went on Angie's List and read reviews on Hook It Up. I reached out to Jeff on Tuesday and he was able come to my house the same day. He arrived on time at 6:30pm, which for me, is amazing since most contractors do not offer evening appointments. Jeff tried a few things to rule out whether it was a TV or a cabling issue; it was determined to be the cable. He suggested a couple different options; get a new cable box itself as it could be a signal issue or have the HDMI cable re-wired (most expensive option). We agreed that I would try the new cable box first and then go from there. However, before Jeff left, asked if he could come back the next morning to try and different HDMI cable which would further pinpoint the source of the issue; cable box signal or HDMI wire. When Jeff returned the next morning, he fixed the problem entirely, luckily it was the most simple and inexpensive fix; the HDMI cable behind the TV was the problem, so he replaced it with a better quality cable and it was no longer getting pinched by the TV against the hanging bracket. He could have easily just suggested the most costly fix initially, that he re-wire the HDMI cable, but instead he suggested several options in my favor that were the most cost effective and less hassle for me. Jeff was very diligent in fixing the problem. I found him to be very personable, down to earth and very trust worthy and I will definitely call on him again should I have future problems or audio-visual projects. My dog loved him too!

I called Jeff because I had been told by another company had given me advice that I didn't think was correct. I thought that I needed Jeff's services and was ready to make an appointment with him. Jeff asked me to explain my setup and what I was trying to accomplish. After about 15 minutes on the phone with me I had a clear pictured of what I needed to do and it was minor. Turns out I just had the wrong receiver. Thanks to Jeff I saved a ton of money. Time is one of those unlimited things and I appreciate Jeff spending his helping me.

Jeff Janson and Gary arrived on time as scheduled and previously agreed upon to install and mount a television and sound bar over our fireplace. This is a complicated job that included wiring installation through the attic, installing new plug boxes, and mounting a new television over our fireplace. All work was done meticulously and with great care. I can't say enough about the attention that was paid to the details of the job and our house in general. All adjoining surfaces were covered, and clean up was done immaculately. I would 100% recommend Jeff ( HOOK-IT-UP ) to anyone and everyone.

First used Jeff's services in July 2012 to replace an HDTV and surround sound receiver damaged during a storm. Since then, he has come out several times to replace other equipment, program a remote, move/rewire speakers, etc. He is one of the honest and caring people I have ever met. His prices are extremely reasonable, and his service is impeccable. I can't imagine anyone giving him anything other than an and quot;Aand quot; on Angie's List. If you need help with stereo, surround sound, multi-zone, or whole house systems, give Jeff a call. You won't be sorry.

Jeff promptly responded to my telephone inquiry. Told him what I was looking for regarding my surround sound. We set a time and date and he came to the house right on time. Courteous, helpful and offered suggestions as to how to hid all the wiring to the television set. Price was fair, would definitely hire him again.

I chose them because of their very high ratings on Angie's List. While other providers that I have used from Angie's List were disappointing, Hook-it-Up restored my confidence. I had high expectations and even those were exceeded. Jeff met with me to understand what we were considering and possibly wanted. He followed up with a proposal. On installation day he showed up with all equipment, an incredibly organized approach, and did not leave until everything was running great. THEN, one day weeks later he was in the neighborhood, called and just stopped to check on us and the equipment. Weeks later I was becoming frustrated with the system and just assumed it was my fault. I struggled with it for a week or 2 and then finally called Jeff and said I did not think the system was everything I expeced. At NO CHARGE, he came over the next evening and stayed for 3 hours reviewing the system and making sure it was working ok. More importantly, he tutored us some more on how to operate it. He went above and beyond what anyone would describe as great customer service. He is the example that I use if I am in a conversation about Angie's List. I think that he is a perfect example of what we all hope for when we sign up for this service.

Jeff's workmanship and overall conduct is spectacular. He's that rare breed that becomes a friend as well as a professional consultant. His first visit was late one night at his own request (since he was very busy during the day), as he did not want to keep me waiting longer. He showed up to design and document my TV mount needs and then wound up staying over an hour to thoroughly and methodically setup all of my Denon, Polk, and Klipsch equipment, in order to make it perform at optimum. Quite honestly, I had had it all for 2+ weeks, went through all setups and Jeff turned my lackluster and quot;7and quot; effort into an outstanding and quot;10+and quot; effort. His knowledge of setups brought the entire system to a level I had never heard before - that alone was worth his visit! His return one week later to install the mount was timely, uneventful and complete. His workmanship is precise, and his clean up was incredibly detailed. Overall, there's a reason why Jeff is so busy and his reputation precedes him here: he's simply outstanding. I'd highly recommend stopping your Angie search, contact Jeff, and just wait your turn based on his demand! :) Good things come to those who wait!

They did not do much. Showed up on time but complained several times that they really too busy to be at our house. Fiddled around with part of my ABus multizone system without really giving it a thorough diagnostic. After about an hour they said they thought I might have a bad AC power adaptor but werent sure. Recommended I buy a new one myself for two reasons - (1) they did not have a replacement and (2) that they would charge significantly more than the cost of purchase if they provided it. In the end, they charged me $75 for a visit that resulted in no improvement in the system. They seem to get good reviews for hooking up stereos but if you are interested in having work done on a house mutlzone system I would not recommend these guys.

Jeff was very responsive during the appointment process. He came to instal on time and spent extra time to make sure everything was perfect. He ran over the proposed time but got the work done without even taking lunch. Its been more than a month now and I cant be more happy. Great work. Wonderful service with a customer first approach. Strongly recommended.

Jeff and Gary did an excellent job. We were building a new house, and I used them to identify where my surround sound speakers should go (builder wouldn't let them wire it for me). When we were moving out of our old house I needed someone to remove our 65and quot; tv from wall and disconnect all components. Jeff and Gary were very careful with my equipment. They wrapped the tv very carefully, and moved it to our temporary apartment. When our new house was complete, they came, got the tv and mounted it in our new house. This was no easy task, since they had to work around what the builder had done (multiple studs in places, outlets in wrong area, etc). They made everything work perfectly. Hooked up all components, and reprogrammed my universal remote. We also had them mount a second tv, and they had to put an outlet in for that. Finally, they discovered an issue with the wiring the builder put in for one of my speakers. They are really pleasant to work with. They are very courteous and conscientious. They leave the place cleaner than when they got there. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Responsiveness/communications - perfect - highly responsive to my request for service, good communication Scheduling and timing - perfect - with respect to providing a range of times for me to arange my schedule, and actually showing up at the appointment times. Work Quality - Perfection - Jeff is meticulous to a fault. No evidence was left at the scene to even know he was there except 2 very well executed TV mounts and a happy family. Reasonably priced - Jeff, because I know how different my work was from the run of the mill TV Mounts that you might do day to day, I know you gave me a great deal on your (and your assistants) time and effort. Thank you! Professionalism...Above and Beyond - Jeff was willing to come to my house for a consultation to see what it would take to mount a TV on a solid rock fireplace floor to ceiling. He then purchased the right equipment for the job and came out to do it. Much to both of our surprise the initial equipment was not up to the task, and he returned AGAIN, to finish the job. (I have condensed this entire process into what is relevant). I don't provide reviews for many people, professional or personal, and never before to a contractor, but I can firmly say that I don't think Jeff is capable of letting me down if I recommend his services such as he performed them for me. Jeff was friendly and very diligent, first testing reception in our attic, then recommending equipment. After experimenting with a couple of antennas and determining if a rotator was need (it was not), he made the necessary connections using high quality cable and connectors. The installation is very clean, and our reception is perfect!
