Solid Ground Home Inspections LLC

There were some issues with the inspection and the company is now working with me to straighten it out.

Steve has all the inspection tools, very thorough, explains correct operations for efficiency, example is of the HVAC systems. Answer all questions, very knowledgeable of the construction of homes. Overall very pleased with the overall service he has provided. This is my 9th home in 30 years. So I have a few comparisons.

Steve was very personable and very knowledgable about the construction process and about our particular builder. He went above and beyond what I considered to be the scope of this particular inspection, and he shared a lot about the community, the schools, and landscaping since he lives just minutes away. In addition to discussing the 2-3 minor issues he suggested the builder take care of, he took a large chunk of time to answer my million questions and to talk to me about the good things that the builder was doing. Since we are moving from PA and he was originally from OH, he shared a lot about how the building process is different for snow verses wind and rain. We will definitely use Solid Ground Home Inspections for our final inspection and for our 1-year warranty inspection.

Steve arrived on time for the appointment and introduced himself. He gave us a thorough explanation of the scope of his inspection as well as his background. As Steve went about the inspection of the various areas of the house he kept us advised of the norm and his findings for each area. The result of the inspection was not only a list of items requiring attention by our builder but also valuable information for us Northerners who have moved here to the Lowcountry. The final copy of the written report including numerous photographs was easily accessible on the Cloud where it could be viewed and shared with other interested parties such as the builders Warranty Department.

Ron McNally, of Solid Ground Home Inspections, was the inspector for this property. As always, the inspection was thorough, and completed efficiently. Ron is extremely knowledgeable, and gives many useful tips and hints to the buyer (or owner) as he goes through the home. The report was clearly stated, useful, and easy for all parties to understand, especially with the many labeled photos attached to the document. It was wonderful! The home is very old, built in 1945. Stephen did an amazing job being very thorough,not rushed and is very knowledgable about older homes. Some of his details about the history of the home were so interesting. Also, he is very investigative, if he notices something unusual - he pushed to find out more details and in doing so told a story about the home in a way. Very entertaining. Most importantly, he is very sure of his task and we felt very comfortable with his confident decisions. He clearly knew what he was doing and was concerned with our needs, including children specific precautions. We will be keeping his number for future use!

Blake Keegan is awesome! I was recommended to him from Jeff Cook Real Estate and wasn't disappointed. He was earlier, very friendly and extremely informative. He took his time turning everything on and off, and opened and closed everything. Blake has and awesome eye for detail. Here is the best part, we arrived in the home to find water coming from under the wood floor. He proceeded to pull everything out, test the moist of the wall and all over the floor and found what we thought was a leak coming from the slab. My agent contacted the selling agent who then got the seller on the phone. Blake finished the inspection beautifully and my husband and I left concerned about the water issue. The seller went to the home pulled the floor up to find the water coming from the wall behind the fridge. Well my husband felt the issue wasn't that based on the conclusion Blake had previously made with the moisture readings so he called Blake to express his concern. Blake then proceeded to go back to the home and meet the seller and check it out while the floor was already up and the leak was in it's state of repair. He then documented everything and concluded the seller had it correct. Blake then called us to inform us of the mistake and tell us it is completely documented in our inspection report for our review. Mind you all this was done on a SUNDAY!!! This is excellent customer service and I want to thank Solid Ground for piece of mind.

Stephen was great! Very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. As a first time home buyer, I had a bunch of questions and concerns. Stephen answered each of them in a manner that I could understand and gave me some wonderful tips about little things to keep the house running smoothly for years to come. He was very thorough in his inspection and the results were in a very nice report that was easy to understand and had linked pictures to document any problems he found. Unfortunately, the house fell through, but I fully intend to use him for the home inspection on the house I bought instead!

Steven Houmard was extremely professional. He encourages homeowners to attend the inspection. His inspection was very thorough and he explained everything he was looking at. He gave recommendations for what items could be fixed and how (including minor visual improvements). He also completed a long report which included photographs of all areas addressed. The report was done in a 3-ring binder.
