I asked for an estimate to change the water supply for my washer. The tech told me I would need an appliance person and asked what the problem was. Told him the valve started dripping in December and had a plumber come out, and he said that he fixed it temporarily and I would have to address it soon. I am looking to sell my home later this year, so I wanted to get an estimate, so I could get it fixed. The tech told me he could not guarantee his work because he was not an appliance guy, so I told him fine I will get someone out. He used vise grips and tightened the hose and told me to keep an eye on it. Then charged me $40? Two loads of laundry later it started leaking again even more than the last time. I have hardwoods in my laundry room, so I had to pull out the 400 lb washer, so I could shut off the water. Since then, I removed the top off the washer replaced the part and put 2 new sater hoses on it to keep it safe. Did not appreciate bot having a problem and getting charged $40 to have one on top of the $55 for replacement part & hoses. Never again!

Initial impression: Answered phone on first ring and got my appointment scheduled in less than a minute. Wow! Efficient. Technician: spent 10 minutes asking questions to ensure he understood my goals and performed the work that same visit! Done in a little over an hour. Great price too! Would definitely use again.

The owner answered my call and was polite, knowledgable and friendly as I told him I had a leak from my upstairs bathroom. However, the plumber who actually came to my home was not the owner and was a bit brash, although seemingly knowledgable, so I initially didn't mind. I simply needed a new wax ring, he said, which made sense. After telling me how the one I had on my toilet was a more expensive kind that always leaked and how the cheap $1 ones work the best and only take ten minutes to install, when I then asked how much this would cost, he changed his tune and told me this was a near $200 job that he was actually giving me a deal on for less. It just felt like I got bamboozled. Then after this repair, he said he checked the toilet tank and said he found another problem (one I didn't know about), and that he would need to come back the next day because he didn't have the part on hand. All-in-all, what was supposed to be a ten minute job with a $1 part ended up being $214. I didn't trust what he was saying, but felt he did have the knowledge to repair toilets and I didn't have a choice with my guests arriving and the incredibly busy schedule I had that day. I just felt like he was going to get my bill over $200 no matter what. I called to talk with the owner on three occasions (and waited two months here to make this review because I wanted to be absolutely fair and talk with the owner first), but he simply won't call me back- and if he has, he didn't use the business number and hasn't left a message so I'd know. Needless to say I won't be using this company again, but I not because they don't know how to repair, but because of poor customer service. Customers want to know not only what's going on and how much it's going to cost (not variable pricing- it is either a specific price or not!) or otherwise they feel you're taking advantage of them. When you say how simple and fast a repair is and how inexpensive the parts are, then how can you justify over $200 for less than an hour's worth of time together both days (the second day only because he didn't have the part on hand), including the in and out and all the talking? Over $200 an hour is expensive for suburban Summerville in my opinion.

Very friendly, personable, explained things well

I hired Pink Plumbing on 11/16. We had a sprayer in the food prep sink that was leaking. The repairman that came out replaced the sprayer unit and a valve for $1,117. I give Pink kudos for coming out right away. However, any props they got for quick service was canceled out, and them some, by their exorbitant pricing. The sprayer and valves maybe cost $300 at the most. The repairman was there no more than 2 hours top. I would not recommend using Pink Plumbers as they over charge big time.
