Pro Roofing and Siding

Went well. 10 year warranty on mold/mildew/algae included. Had algae problem. Called Pro Roofing to inform them. Was told that the manufacturer makes it difficult to file a claim because they make the homeowner supply a defective shingle. Pat said he would have one of his people come out and remove/replace a sample shingle in a week or so. Six weeks later the technician arrives - unannounced. He removed/replaced the shingle and told me that there was nothing I needed to do because Pat would take care of sending the shingle in for examination. He said it would take 2-3 months before I would hear anything. Six months later, I call Pro Roofing to inquire about the warranty claim. Pat said he had 3 boxes of shingles which had been there for a while but he didn't have a claim number to use to process them. I told him what his technician told me and he said that that person no longer worked for him. So what? He let the shingle sit there for another 3 months and didn't bother to call, apparently, any of the owners. The clock is still ticking on the warranty and he did nothing. Totally unacceptable. Run from this company if you expect any service after the sale. I will never use them again.

I am surprised there are not more reviews in here. Search Coastal Builders for more info. I solicited 4 quotes for my roof, All came out and provided a quote for the same grade Landmark Shingles. I visited the Landmark Shingle website and did my homework on the warrantys. ProRoofing was the only roofing contractor in the area that was "certified" by the distributor, meaning the Shingle company would honor the warranty. They offered the best price. and cleaned up after themselves. When I asked for license and insurance information it was provided, I noted it needed to be updated and received the updated bond. The workers weren't quite as careful as I wanted them to be around my little fish pond (There was a language barrier with the worker who was working in that area on the roof ) but the fish survived so all is well. When I asked them to fill out a form for my insurance company so I could get the Wind Hurricane discount they promptly filled it in and sent it to me. I was surprised that there was a 25% disparity between the prices from the roofing companies since they all were using the same quality and brand shingle. It pays to shop around and do your homework.

It couldn't have gone better. He told me exactly what he would do and did it as promised. It was a bit more than a few other quotes I got, but I was much more comfortable with him as I got the sense that he was more professional. I had an engineer and a factory rep from the company that makes the product who helped me decide on which product would be best to use. The tenants of the warehouse have had no complaints and after almost a year the product seems to be holding up just fine.
