Short Review: 10/10 could not recommend Michael enough. Amazing attention to detail, care, professional, and appreciate his ability to explain findings to me (little understanding of home structures.) Long Review: I recently had the pleasure of working with Michael, and I am delighted to share my review of his exceptional services. From start to finish, his professionalism, thoroughness, and attention to detail surpassed all my expectations. During the inspection, Michael’s expertise shone through. He meticulously examined every aspect of the property, leaving no stone unturned. From the foundation to the electrical systems, HVAC, and crawl space (YIKES), his attention to detail was truly remarkable. He went above and beyond to uncover any potential issues and provided valuable insights into the overall condition of the home. This home inspection was worth every single penny and I feel at ease knowing my home inspection was done completely. I will, for a fact, be using him again.

Our home inspector Michael was punctual, professional and friendly. He asked us what our known concerns were and told us what his process would be. It seemed very thorough and when he was done, he sat down with his laptop and showed us photos he had taken and explained the issues that needed addressing. Michael did a complete Home Inspection on our 11 month old home. He inspected the interior, exterior, roofing, siding, electrical, plumbing, HVAC system, appliances and more. He even went in the attic to inspect the framing, HVAC ducts and the insulation. He went up on the roof to do a close-up inspection of the roofing/shingles, gutters and vent pipes. I'd give him an A+ rating.

First and foremost, I would like to say that the service that Michael Hughes from Number 1 Home Inspection provided was excellent. He arrived at the address promptly on time, conducted a very thorough home inspection, and did an excellent job at documenting the issues that he found. The process for hiring him was as simple and included only one phone call. Within hours of him doing the inspection, I had the detailed report waiting in my inbox. Finding a home inspector can be tricky. There are a lot of them in the area and I’m not exactly sure who or what governs home inspectors, so I had to rely solely on online reviews. I found excellent reviews on Angies List and Google. Because I’m handy around the house, I thought to myself, “What can a good home inspector find that I can’t?” and “What can he do that I can’t?” Well, after seeing the report, I realized the importance of a home inspectors job – and that’s documentation. Michael Hughes did a fantastic job at documenting everything he found wrong with the home, no matter how minor the issue was. The 26-page report that was included for my soon to be 1300 sq ft home on a slab was full of detail and recommendations. If you’re buying a new/used home, make sure you get a detailed report on your new property. With that, I highly recommend Michael Hughes with Number 1 Home Inspections.

He was professional and thorough. I thought I knew this house well, I have been living here for seventeen years. Number 1 Home Inspector found things I was not aware of. We had a great experience and I would recommend them to family, friends or anyone. When done we received a 43 page report with a list of the issues, including pictures and what needs to be done to correct the issue. A sample page is included as a photo.

Michael was first class all the way. He spent several hours doing our inspection. At the conclusion he went over every point he found on the inspection at the home that needed correction. He had his computer and we were able to review the pictures. Within 24 hours we had the written report. Very professional!

Perfectly. Michael was so responsive to all my needs. He fit me right into his schedule, answered all my calls and questions promptly, and completed the well written and thorough inspection report the same day as the inspection itself. Very impressed!!

Very thorough. Took moisture measurements in all affected areas from a recent water leak. Went over everything with us during his inspection, and then summarized all findings with us at the end of his inspection. Answered all questions we had for him. Had his final inspection report emailed to us within 3 hours after finishing the inspection. Would definitely use again.

Excellent service. I was impressed with Michael's breadth of expertise and he went above and beyond to make sure I understood what he was explaining to me and he explained every step of the inspection. Michael demonstrated a high level of professionalism. One example is that he was very thorough inspecting the various items in a home inspection, not just a quick overview. He really jumped into things and was not shy to look under the plumbing and appliances checking for things that would otherwise go unnoticed or hidden. A real go-getter. Not only does he have a knack for quickly identifying exactly what is happening, he backs it up with his practical knowledge (sometimes scientific) and explained how a professional would approach a fix or further review. I would call him the MacGuyver of Home Inspectors! I was also impressed with his knowledge of the area. It gave me a confidence that he was also familiar with what he was looking at. My money was well spent with Michael's services, even before I got his thorough and detailed report. I would hire him again and highly recommend him.

This is the second home inspection Michael has done for our family in the last three months. It was for my daughter, a first time home buyer. He was on time, courteous and knowledgeable. Michael did another great job. He was thorough. We never felt he was in a rush. He took the time to explain everything and was patient with the kinds of questions first time buyers ask. I was very pleased with the inspection services provided by Michael of Number 1 Home Inspection. Professional, personable and thorough. He spent nearly 5 hours at my house and found a number of issues I was unaware of including a water penetration from holes in my roof shingles caused by pump jack scaffolding that was incorrectly nailed to the roof through the shingles by the siders. I highly recommend Michael and his services.
