I called Andy late Friday Afternoon to see if I could have him come early the next week for an estimate, and to see when he could do the work. As I had just finished 2 days earlier putting down new sod in my back yard, I was hoping he could do the work within a few days. It was difficult to cover my back yard and side yard using hoses and sprinklers, I was very surprised when he said he would be glad to come and look at the problem the next day( Saturday) and there would not be a charge for the estimate and if I wanted he would try and do the work that time if I wanted him to do the work. He also said he would not charge extra for working on Saturday. He made an appointment to be at my house at 9:30 He arrived promptly and looked at the problem. Said it would be about $75.00 to $125.00 depending on how hard it would be to locate the valves and cut wires. I had only been able to locate one valve and 3 different sections of cut wires, I agreed and he went to work as described in the first question, After about 1 1/2 to 2 hours he had completed all the work and had checked the operation of the system. I told him about the problem with 2 of my sprinkler heads so he checked them and adjusted them for proper coverage. After he asked if there was any other work I needed him to I or to look at. He does Lawn Maintrenance, Lighting and Harcapes. Andy then gave me his bill for $50.00! I couldn't believe it with all he did and the extra work not in the estimate. I wrote him a check for $60.00 and got some business cards from him. I will be certain to use him in the future and will be glad to recomend him to anyone needing his services!
Description of Work: Located buried wires and valves to try to reconnect wires dug up by tiller during preperation for sodding by back yard. Orginal installer did not put but one valve in a underground box. Andy removed new sod from one valve in ground box traced wire to other valves. Removed about 20 square feet of newly laid sod to attempt to splice torn up wires from tiller. Had to cut all torn wiring and relaid about 20 feet of new 6 wire cable along with new waterproff connectors. Put in a new ground box for valves. Replaced sod and cut sod to fit new ground box and area where new wires were laid. Checked operation of system to make sure the system worked correctly. Asked him to redo some of my irrigation sprinkler heads that did not cover my lawn correcly. Adjusted the troubled sprinkler heads. Checked all zones to ensure my lawn and beds were watered properly. Inquired if there was anything else he could help me with. Extremely polite and explained each thing he did and why he did it.
