We purchased a 60" LED TV in August of 2012 for over $1300 and paid $500 more for a five year warranty. We did so because the sales person and the store manager promised us that for any reason, replace the TV if it stops working.....any reason. Even if lightning hits! DONT EVER BUY an extended warranty from HHGregg!!!! (See also our reviews of WarranTech and Alltronics Repair companies.) We found ourselves caught between the warranty company and the local repair shop getting nothing but excuses where each blamed the other. When we asked why we had to constantly make calls between the two, Warrantech told us "it's your TV so it's your problem"!!!!! Then we contacted the HH Gregg store for help after three weeks without a TV. Two different store employees each told us that now that it took this long and now reached the store level the TV would soon be replaced with a store credit to buy a new one. Four days later we contacted the store manager who started all the politically correct excuses all over again! Very long story short, it was all a ruse to let the inept repair shop take 29 days to repair the TV! Lies, excuses, misdirection, evasiveness, nothing but placating, horrible service. Next time we go to a big box store, buy the cheapest big TV skip the warranty and use the price of the warranty to help pay for the next TV!!!!! Skip HH Gregg and their over priced warranties !!!!
Description of Work: Sold us a replacement warranty and did nothing to help us when the TV broke

Great prices, HORRIBLE management. Went in on Monday to purchase a range. I had been working with a salesman who was wonderful so I went back to him as I knew he worked on commission. I was told before purchase that it would be delivered next day. I am purchasing this range as a replacement for my range that no longer works. While paying for it and setting up delivery, the salesman tells me that the truck for Tuesday is booked. He said that they were running 2 trucks on Monday but only 1 Tuesday. He asked the manager if he would open up another truck for Tuesday and he said no. Next, the salesman tells me they do not deliver on Wednesdays and I would have to wait until Thursday. Instead of canceling right then, I said ok as he was working on commission and I wanted him to get it. He said they normally run my area in the mornings and they will call me Wednesday. I told him I was very disappointed and the only reason I stayed was so he would get paid, I was totally fine with that as he was as nice as he could be. I asked for the manager to ask about another truck on Tuesday and to explain my disappointment as the next day delivery was out the window. When I went to the manager, he could barely be bothered to look at me over his computer. I explained my issue and he rudely told me that he couldn't do anything about the truck being over-booked. I asked him if that is what he was going to go with and he nastily said yes. I said ok. I left and called their 800# from the parking lot to complain about his rudeness etc. The rep spoke to her supervisor and I guess the manager and came back and told me that they were going to refund my $79.99 delivery fee and that I could also keep the $79.99 delivery rebate that I would receive upon delivery. I thanked them, it was a great gesture. Wednesday, I called in the afternoon as I had not heard from them about delivery. They said that they would be calling around 7 or so to set up time. Around 7, I received an automated call saying my appointment was from 4:45 pm-7:45 pm on Thursday and if this would be ok. I said yes, as I have now been without a working oven for 2 weeks. I held on the line to speak with customer service. The young lady got on the phone and I asked if there was any way that there were earlier appointments or if I could speak to someone to try for an earlier one as I was supposed to go to a concert that night. Also, I don't really care to have delivery men or men I don't know in my home after dark with just me and my son as my husband is in Baghdad. The manager got on the phone and said he understands I have an issue with the delivery. I attempted to tell him that it wasn't so much that; but this is again not what was told to me. He then told me "this is how it works" and continued to talk over me. By this time I was highly irate with his nasty and rude tone and comments to me so I told him to please let me speak and stop speaking over me. I told him that I came in on Monday and was told next day service. He cut in again and said "and yes, they were booked up and you agreed to Thursday." I told him I did not "agree" but was told that was what was available. I told him that I had a concert that I paid good money for and would now miss. He said "so you set this up when you were not available?" again, rude. Hit me the wrong way and I said "Are you the j****** that I spoke to on Monday?" He said "Have a good night ma'am" and hung up on me. Yes, I was rude, but only after he was very nasty and condescending to me...the customer. Tomorrow morning, at 8am, I will be on the phone with their headquarters again. I will speak to whoever I need to and make sure that this does not happen to another customer. I have posted on FB and have had 10+ comments about others having issues with this store and this manager. I am not trying to receive something for nothing. I do not need anything from them except the assurance that this jerk is held accountable for his rudeness to customers. Like I said, great prices, but these days, everyone will price match. I will NEVER shop there again.

When we started getting our billing statement, GE Money, the financing arm for HH Gregg, added $2.00 in fees each month under the heading "Minimum Interest Charge Purchases". WEe did not see these fees on other large financed purchases we made through Rooms 2 Go and Ashley Furniture, which were also financed through GE Money. Accordingly, we went ahead and paid off the full balance of the HH Gregg account to avoid paying any future $2.00 fees with each monthly payment. Also, we opted for delivery and installation of our fridge and washer/dryer. The delivery team arrived after their scheduled appointment. While they safely got these large appliances into the house without damage, they did not install them according to the mfr recommendations, e.g. they did not level them. They did plug them in to ensure they worked, and hooked up the water hoses to the fridge and washer. Given the amount of money we spent with HH Gregg, this experience did not instill confidence, and we do not intend to make any purchases from them in the future. We did however, use the $50 gift card they included with the sale to buy an iPod speaker.
Description of Work: We purchased an LG 3-door refrigerator and a front-load washer-dryer set for our home. At the time of sale, we opted to open an advertised no-interest credit account, which allowed us to not pay any interest if balance paid within 24 months. We also paid for d

My home is in Asheville, and I have a second home in Seabrook Island. We purchased the refrigerator on September 4th, and we were told that they would deliver it on the 19th. I checked several times by phone prior to the 19th and was told that it would be delivered between 8-12 on the 19th. This was verified by Rachel and another rep. I was confident that it would be delivered, so I drove to Seabrook so I could be there for delivery. When it got close to 12, there had still been no delivery. I called them, and they said that they did not have it in stock and could not deliver it that day. Eli, the manager, tried to help, but my model was not available. He was upset at my circumstance and said he would call me with a new delivery date, which turned out to be the 9th of October. Before it was delivered, Eli called and told me that there were 2 dents in my refrigerator and wanted to know if I would still take it. I agreed, and he took off $150 from the price. He assured me it would be delivered, so I made the drive again on the 9th. The people who were contracted to deliver it did a good job. I got a rebate for $69.99, but it has taken more than a month since delivery to get. It is in the form of a Visa card and is not user friendly. I tried using it Friday night at a restaurant, and it wouldn't take. They are a difficult company to deal with and have no sense of customer satisfaction. I would never deal with them again.
Description of Work: I purchased a refrigerator from them. Rachel Holman was the sale person we dealt with. Price is before the $150 we got as a discount for dents and before the rebate.
