The movers put the refrigerator on its side instead of standing it up. The glass broke in the refrigerator. We asked them to pay for the glass but the owner refused. We tried to file a claim in small claims court. They couldn't find the owner to serve him. We went online and found multiple claims against the company in small claims court.

I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE - THEY ARE CROOKS!!! I called a week ahead of time to call and set the move. They called back and we set the date and he gave me a quote of $217-290. On the day of the move, the movers never showed up! When I got in contact with the owner of the business, he said he would provide a discount for the mistake, and he promised they would be there the next morning by 9:30am! The next day, they didn't arrive until 3pm.... And they arrived in a rented U-Haul that was too small to accommodate our stuff. They lied about why they were late too. They claimed it was due to being behind an accident on the Mark Clark, but that doesn't take hours and we called the owners and they said there had been no traffic delays in the area. The movers broke our beveled glass. They moved our stuff into the new house, but they only moved one truckload... They left behind what they couldn't fit in the too-small truck. So when they were "finished," the head mover said our total was... $450!!!!!! We were floored at how unprofessional, false, and criminal this whole process was. This was way above the quote, obviously no "discount" promised by the owner, and on top of it all, they didn't even move all our stuff and they broke an item... We verbally fought over this until we called the owner, and he "generously" brought the price down by $100, so we paid $350. They wanted cash in unmarked bills. We ended up having to move the rest of our stuff by ourselves... This was a horrible, horrible experience. Main points: No-show the first day Hours late the next day Too small of a truck Drastically misquoted price Promised discount that wasn't given Broke our beveled glass Did not finish moving the rest of our items DO NOT HIRE THEM! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY!
Description of Work: After a no-show on the first day, they finally arrived hours late the next day in a rented U-Haul that was too small. After they were finished moving, they jacked their price up far more than what was quoted, and even when I was promised a discount since they hadn't shown up the day before.

My daughter was moving locally and hired Gentle Movers based on the recommendation of a friend. The appointment for the move was confirmed on Thursday, and the company said they would arrive at 10:30 am on Saturday.. When the movers did not show up, my daughter called the company 5 - 6 times over the next few hours and left messages on the recorder. She finally reached the owner of the company around 6 pm. He said he would check, then call my daughter back. He never called back. She called again, but the company did not answer the phone. The movers never came. As an aside, my experience as been that movers will usually take checks and/or credit cards. This mover would only take cash. In my opinion, this is a terrible company.
Description of Work: A move was scheduled. Two days before the move, we called to confirm and were told the movers would be here Saturday morning at 10:30 am. They never showed.
