I complained twice and they had to come back out twice because they didn't apply the insulation as thick as I paid for. I assume because they were angry about coming back out they covered up two of my vents so I can't attach the pipes to them. I can't even find the ends. I will need to dig the expensive foam out to find them.

Both crews were very professional and arrived on time. Both jobs took less time than estimated, and the work was done very professionally. Care was taken to avoid marking or damaging the home interior and post-job cleanup was good. The results are dramatic. Our formerly furnace-hot attic is now usable storage space. Our upper level rooms are much more comfortable during hot weather. Our heat pump is not having to run nearly as much. I expect our next electric bill to be substantially lower.

They left the place very clean and were very professional and courteous. | |Took them about 3 hours for the entire job. | |I have to add that although they never told me this, since we have had this work done there have been ZERO bugs in our house. The technician who gave us the quote was very nice. He explains everything to you. They did what we asked them to do. The only problem is the termite company that came could not do the work because of the way they laid the incarceration from the attic. They were professional and my husband said they were great.

They were prompt for the initial estimate and listened to my concerns with each attic. They arrived on time and got the job done. Even with some obstacles (tiniest of crawl space) they made sure my entire roof attic was insulated. They could have easily sealed off half the house and only insulated half, but they wanted to make sure I got as much insulation as possible to help save energy. There was one access area that was closed off due to confusion, but they returned bright and early the next day to redo the space to my satisfaction.

I got in touch with the company via a homes show and did a subsequent quote visit at my home. Various options were discussed with the sales person, and after some time I found a scheduling window that would work. The online quoting process didn't work very well, but things seemed to be okay. It would not take one of the options for additional work, so we just agreed to do that area work and bill me for it. The timing was very short, so this showed flexibility and responsiveness. The old adage that any contractor that can take you quickly may not be full with work because they are not reliable seems to then have kicked in. On the day of the work, the first of the crew showed up on time, but over time more people showed up to support the efforts. They could have been there at the beginning to avoid some supervision being required on my part. For example, I had to show which work was to be done where, etc. I previously agreed to do this, but I assumed I would do this with some supervisor. Based on inputs from the sales person, I removed ceilings completely that the technicians later told me wasn't really necessary. There went lost time and money already. On the other hand, I could then see the work being done, and I, not the technicians, found holes and gaps in the insulation installation in one area. The technicians were willing to go and fill these in, but these should never have happened. In fact, I later inspected the other work done and found the same issues. That means I could have just saved all the hassle and money since insulation must be complete, and can't be effective when it has gaps and holes. The big issues I had were the damages left behind by the crew who intended to get the job done quickly. I had overspray and spray gun leakage that damaged some areas, roof shingle damage where their hose rubbed on it, and spray foam that had to be removed and replaced later since the product used at my home was not fully up to normal standard. That caused it to shrink after being sprayed, thus causing holes and gaps. The worst part is the same as shown in another feedback on Angie's list, and that is trying to get the damages properly handled by a licensed contractor for that work. That, together with the fully compartmentalized structure of the company had led to bills that come exactly on time, service that does not, and sales that hasn't gotten everyone together to resolve these relatively small issues to a company of their size, but large hassles and risks to a homeowner. Overall, there are open issues that no one is responding to, and when I try to work with Energy One, it is a struggle to get their attention and is certainly not a cooperative working relationship. This is disappointing for someone who took extra efforts to prepare everything for a simple installation and a promised great result. I mentioned the online quoting didn't work, so I received a bill for a portion of the work after paying what I thought was the final bill. Even with this amount of open invoice, Energy One is not responsive to the damages done at my home via qualified contractors.

The guy that came out to do the quote was very knowledgeable about insulation and what did work and what didn't work. He was able to resolve the problem on the molds on my ceiling and moisture coming through the air vents, and the insulation that they did in the attic solved all the problems. The price that they charged me was reasonable.

We have noticed an increase in the temperature in the upstairs of our home and our electric bill has gone down. The unfortunate part is they could not insulate the ceiling in our bonus room or great room as they are vaulted ceilings with no attic access. They could do it if we ripped out the sheetrock and blew in the foam then replaced the sheetrock. Could not afford that at this time. They completed the job in 4 hours and cleaned up after themselves. They also made sure I was happy with the job and I inspected it prior to them leaving. They were very professional.

Energy One responded to my call immediately, set up an appointment time, and arrived at that time. Initially, some confusion occurred about what I was requesting, but as soon as that was clarified, the company representative observed, analyzed and appraised. He gave me valuable information that was undoubtedly for my home's long term benefit.

he salesman from EnergyOne (Shane) did a great job listening to what we needed and working with us to provide what we wanted at a reasonable cost. We decided to have them install OpenCell foam insulation on our roof deck and in our crawlspace. EnergyOne's estimated cost for removing the insulation in the crawlspace, and putting down a new vapor barrier was on the high-side, so we contracted with someone else to do that work. We had to remove almost everything from our attic in order for the EnergyOne team to spray on the foam. They did not offer to do this. We also had to move everything back into the attic after the foam was sprayed. After the first installation, I found that the thickness of the foam in the crawlspace was not sufficient. I contacted EnergyOne and they sent someone out to add another layer. This new layer was of sufficient thickness. PROS: The team showed up on time and did the work that was planned. Their cost was reasonable and I felt like they were willing to do what was necessary to ensure that my expectations were met. Reasonable cost CONS: The team would show up and start setting up things for 15-20 minutes before they would come knock on our door and let me know they were here. They would be knocking around in my crawlspace without announcing themselves. This was a bit disconcerting. I had to do my own quality/thickness check on the installation. This did not appear to be part of their process. I had to call them on the thickness, which they DID fix after I pointed it out. After the initial installation, the installer left a huge blower running in my attic overnight. This thing looked very old and in poor repair. Honestly, I would consider it a bit of an electrocution/fire hazard. I unplugged it the next day. They didn't retrieve this blower for at least a week, and only when notified that it was still here.
Description of Work: Energy One installed their spray-on open cell foam insulation in our home: Foam Board sealing the ends of the roof Spray foam (3 1/2 inches +) on roof deck Spray foam (3 1/2 inches +) in crawspace Spray foam in one section off the bonus room

The experience was good and I in the process I learned a lot about good and bad insulation. The representative arrived on time. Look into all possible areas and determined problems with current insulation and reasons why some areas in the house felt hotter. Explained the potential savings over time with foam insulation and any additional work needed to go with, before or after the foam is placed. Overall a good experience.
Description of Work: The representative was very professional and likeable. He explained the pros and cons of foam insulation and did an evaluation whether or not may work or be appropriate for my mi situation. At the time I did not use the services, however I will call back when I am ready to embark in this project.

It worked perfectly. It saved me the money from having to replace my hardwood floors. They were very good. I thought their pricing was a little high but I don't have anything to compare it to, so it was probably pretty fair. They were working in the house for about 10 days so I guess it was pretty labor intensive.
Description of Work: They did a moisture free, crawl space system for me. They take all of the old insulation out and replace all of that, they also pump under the house to keep all of the moisture out. They put a liner all around the crawl space and sealed it.

Great experience. Our family typically leaves the house around 7am, so they were willing to come out earlier to support that. They were prompt, professional, trustworthy and diligent about making sure the job was done right. There were a few small spots that were missed, so Shane took time out his way home after work to swing by and finish the job. They were efficient, explained things in detail and answered all my questions. As for the final product, the attic is MUCH cooler and to capable of storing things senstive to temperature extremes. In fact, there is anough clean space up there now with all the old blown insulation out and old units consolidated to turn it into a study/office. My only suggestion for anybody in an older house that will have workers in the attics is to make sure that they use planks to walk across the I beams. The nails may punch through the ceiling if too much weight put through a single wood ceiling beam, the plank distributes the weight. That happened with us, so Shane was mice enought to knock some money off the final cost, and I fixed it myslef with ease.
Description of Work: Energy One specializes in foam insulation. They work on both existing houses and thos eunder construction applying foam insulation to wall, attics, ceilings, etc in order to increase heat and cooling efficiency. In our case, we had an AC unit go kaput and in the process of getting estimates and bids to redo our upstairs HVAC system (which was somewhat outdated all around) we learned of the foam insulation as a way of improving the efficiency of the new system. our attic gets up to 126 deg in the summer, and the foam is supopsed to control that by enclosing it, making it an air-conditioned space. All total, we took out two Ac units and replaced it with one on two different zones and replaced both of our 85% efficiency furnances with one 95% efficiency unit and had the entire attic, where the new ductwork and furnance live, sprayed with foam. Horne HVAC, who is stellar in there own right, did all the HVAC work than E-One came in and did the foam spray.
