Unbelievable job and as far as I'm concerned price! Arnie is the consummate professional businessman - I'd buy anything from him and feel confident in the purchase and price. Besides, he's fun to deal with to boot. The crew that installed the windows were prompt, professional, courteous, and cleaned up after the job. One window was delivered broken but the reordered window came in within a week and was installed one late afternoon after work. The windows look fantastic and are doing what they are supposed to do. There's a noticeable reduction in heat radiating through the windows and noise has been reduced. The air conditioning came on much later and much less the very next day when it was still hot and muggy in mid-August. I'm certain to save on energy bills for years to come.

Arnie did call right back. Almost too quickly as I had hardly hung up the phone when he called back. I do not like his aggressiveness and he kept telling me he is the "best deal around and would give me a great price" when he was higher than other estimates! He continually put down other companies and insisted he would do the job. When I mentioned the Angie's List discount, he basically said he was already giving me a 'great deal' so no need to discount further! No the way I would do business. Hate to stereotype him but he is like a typical New Yorker that won't take no for an answer.

I contacted Coastal Siding and Windows to repair an area on the back of my house. Even though I had called after hours, Arnie Levin, the owner of Coastal Siding came out that evening to give me an estimate. The price was more than fair. Arnie was very friendly and professional. He explained that the siding on my older home was aluminium and would have to be special ordered. It would take one to two weeks and the repair would take less than one day. Arnie contacted me once the siding was in and came out the next day to perform the work. It looks great! I can't say enough nice things about Arnie and his company. It was a pleasure talking with him and doing business with his company. I definitely recommend Coastal Siding and Windows.

The crew came out on a Saturday and started removing the windows. They removed most of them easily but struggled with a few. The problems started when they were installing the windows; I soon realized that caulk was one of their major tools and this alarmed me. If something did not fit properly the caulk came out, huge gaps were filled with large amounts of caulk. One of the windows in particular was made extremely undersized and this one guy who seemed like he was in charge filled the large gaps with caulk; I questioned him and he said it was okay. I told him it was not okay and that what he was doing was not even close to code and the proper window needed to be ordered, that's about the time another one of the workers said that they should have brought the metal, meaning they would have been able to cover it up before I saw it if they had the metal. The crew had trouble installing a window upstairs and had to beat it in to make it fit. After the crew left I inspected the upstairs window and noticed that flashing on the hip roof under the window was not reinstalled properly and that some of the bricks had been broken loose. The foreman came by and as usual tried to BS me. It finally got to the point that I asked Arnie to tell the foreman not to touch my house anymore and get someone qualified, someone who actually knew what they were doing to repair the damage done to my house. The flashing and brick finally got fixed and then we started getting the hard rains. I noticed a long wet streak on my living room ceiling; the upstairs window was leaking. So now my living room ceiling was damaged. Well Arnie supposedly has someone fix the window and has someone touchup the ceiling. So now I have a ceiling that had nothing wrong with it before the window was installed fixed by someone spaying kihls on the water damaged spot. It rains again and the window leaks again. Finally Arnie gets a contractor to look at the window to figure out what is wrong and the contractor shows Arnie's crew what to do. Well the window gets fixed and now another coat of kilhs on the water damaged spots. The other day I was cleaning out my garage and moved the curtains on the windows to clean and lo and behold noticed more window installation damage. I am just going to fix it myself, I don't want those people to touch my house again. I really feel that Arnie is honest and thinks his crew is doing quality work. Unfortunately they are not. Good thing I was home the day they were working on my house. The day they installed the windows in my house they did not even clean inside. My wife had to call Arnie and he sent them back to clean. It is September 18, 2013 and I am updating some of my ratings which concern Coastal Siding & Windows INC. I have changed the overall, quality, and professionalism ratings. I have changed these ratings because in all fairness, Arnie did keep his word; he promised to fix the problems and he did have them fixed. He hired contractors to fix some of the problems and others to show his foreman how to fix some of the other problems. After the problems were fixed, Arnie assured me that something like this would never happen again because there have been changes; I assume this to mean that he has hired a professional to run his crew. I changed quality because I feel the windows which were installed are of a quality brand. Arnie is a professional who is honest and is true to his word.

The first thing that I liked about them was that I went on Angie's List and I saw a whole bunch of great reviews about them there so I called them. And true to what was online, the owner came out, gave me a quote and that was exactly what they charged. The bathroom window was awfully expensive but it had to have a tampered glass so I was satisfied with the price even though it was expensive. I could have gotten cheaper stuff but I did not want cheaper. I want to get what I pay for most of the time. Their craftsmanship and everything was excellent. I would highly recommend them.

We were not required to pay until the job was finished to our satisfaction.

Coastal siding is the definition of what all customer service should be! I called him up based on a referral from another contractor we've used in the past and boy am I glad I did. Arney Levin, the owner, got back in touch with me the same day despite being out of town and it being after their normal work hours. We arranged a meeting within a couple days where we discussed the entire job. He was able to give me pricing off the top of his head! My first instinct was this was a starter price and I was going to get nickeled and dimed....WRONG! He stuck to it! I priced him against Sears and Lowes he was at least 30% less, plus he's local. Before actually installing my wife and I (mostly my wife) made some pretty serious changes like window color and adding shutters. No problem, Arney said what do you need? And gave me better than fair pricing. I can't say enough good things about my experience. The total job ended up being 17 oversized sliding windows, 7 standard double hungs, 500+ linear feet of soffit and fascia, 14 shutters (just the front), and metal facing of garage door frames (thrown in). Every time we met he had window samples, color samples, pedigrees, and brochures! That was great because I could see any answer in writing AND in action. He took care of all the permitting (YES, he took out a permit that I had no idea was even needed!) and inspections. Now for the workmanship piece. Arney said his guys were good, and he was underselling them. They had the job done in less than 3 days! Did I mention they had to work around other contractors for other renovations? Were they flying loose and fast, NO! They were performing high quality work and SAFELY! Key word being SAFELY! No short cuts were taken from anything I could see. These guys were just that good. And oh, by the way. he warrantees his work for LIFE! Not only was he saying that, but his guys were saying that then gave me some examples of backing it up, which was a rare necessity they added. The windows being replaced were from 1966 with wood framing being replaced with state of the art windows with vinyl. His guys replaced a whole bunch of damaged wood, for a price of....FREE. Arney's philosophy was the he charged me to put in windows and that's what was going to happen, and happen the RIGHT way! Not only that, his guys had to replace or repair wood around the garage doors and the old fascia and soffit. Again included! Job's done, how'd it look? AMAZING! His lines were clean as were the joints. The windows slide like a dream. The shutters set off the front of the house where there were none before. The fascia and soffit look great, with added attic ventilation vents. His guys left and there was not a single piece of trash. No mountain dew cans, no Wendy?s wrappers, nada. Just a job well done was left behind. I've recommended him to everyone I know. Coastal Siding was honest, fair, and flat out AWESOME. The customer service was outstanding. Arney gave me updates from order to completion and has since followed up to ensure my satisfaction. The only way to go wrong with window replacement in the Charleston area is go use a different contractor. Thanks Arney!

I was very happy with the service. They were prompt and did what they said they were going to do. Their pricing was reasonable and I really love the windows.

I absolutely love working with Arnie Levine! He is prompt, professional and doesn't try to over sell with the blah, blah, blah stuff. His installation crew is the best! They replaced all my windows during July, extremely hot! they were so fast that my house AC never got above 78 degrees. I was extremely impressed. They did an awesome job. The windows are perfect and my west facing sunroom has cooled down tremendously with the new installed windows. After a year the windows are great and working perfectly. I will always call Arnie first....I trust him.

Arnie is the president/salesman. He is quite the jokester. It's worth listening to Arnie's jokes to work with this company, and Arnie is also punctual, detail-oriented, and responsive. I appreciated his willingness to answer all my questions and provide me with the information I needed. He even went out of his way to put his crew chief on the phone to answer one of my questions. His estimate covered all the aspects of the job and was right in line with others price-wise. No money was required up front. The crew chief came out to do the measurements. I talked with him about how to install the windows in a way which would preserve our deep sills inside the house. He was careful to explain to me the possible ramifications of this, but when he was sure I understood everything, he was also willing to do it "my way." I appreciated his excellent communication and flexibility. It took about 10 days for the windows to be delivered, and they were installed right away. The crew which did the work showed up on time and completed the job in one day. They were friendly and helpful, really nice guys and easy to be around. The crew chief explained everything I wanted to know. They took away all the rubbish and left everything neat and tidy. When they were finished, the crew chief even told me he was glad we had preserved the deep sills. The whole experience was easy and pleasant. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Estimate was provided on the day after I made initial contact. The only reason it wasn't done on the same day was due to my schedule. Job started a day earlier then projected, which was nice. The work crew was very professional. They did an excellent job cleaning up behind themselves.

The foreman was here as scheduled to review the job to be completed. At that point, I realized my home was in excellent hands. And I was right in my thinking. Billie and his crew took care of everything. There main job was to make sure their customer was completely satisfied with their work and their product. They started the job on the date scheduled and stayed on the job through completion. The job site was left clean every night. It was a pleasure having this crew work on my home. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the job. I would highly recommend this company.

Arnie was the best. He was very imformative. He was not pushy as most are. He was patient and gave me valuable information so I could make an educated decision. A few days after our meeting, he followed up with call to see if I had any question. He did not pressure me in any way.

The estimate has honored - workers were prompt & neat & moved what furniture needed to be moved & replaced it as well. Followed up to be sure. we were pleased before asking for payment.

They came and measured , they ordered the windows and installed them within 10 days. They fitted and trimmed them and cleaned up all mess associated with the windows.

not only did Coastal provide the best quote, they also performed the work very well. All of the insulation and siding was installed timely and all of the aluminum work covering the wood was installed very well. They took the time to caulk every seam for the metal work around the windows. Overall I am very happy with the work performed. the weather was not the most cooperative and rained quite a bit during the installation, this leads to my only issue. The yard was trampled and the other work areas were left quite dirty. I really cant judge them as it was muddy and wet all week.

They were great, very hard worker, cleaned all the debris up, fantastic job.

Arnie Levin & crew did a good & speedy job. With attention to detail. Price was reasonable and results were great.

The workerd arrived at 9 AM. Started working right away. No problems. Finished @16:30 hours and that was with a lunch break.v

Artie arrived promptly to give us a quote. We told him the issues but he mainly wanted us to reside our house. I believe his price was fair, to tear down our siding, fix any leaks, wrap it & reside - but it was not something we wanted to spend money on at this time. We did get it fixed and it ended up costing us 1/4 of what residing the whole house would have cost.

I am very pleased with the work that was done. They answered any questions that I had about the job. Their work was excellent. They cleaned up when they were done.

Coastal was recommended by a friend. Arniel was terrific and stuck to his word. Installers were very efficient. I love the quality the windows have added to my home.

Arnie quoted the job on a Thursday and they stared work on Monday they crew was experienced and did all the extra things we asked. Arnie moves more quickly than us southerners, but it was a god experience.
