A tricky job because access was difficult. They did a great job fitting a heavy and awkward chandelier is a stairwell.

After working with and hiring several electrical contractors over the years, Charleston electric is the only one that that I have encountered that does what they say they are going to do and there when they say they are going to be there. If you are looking for the best quality, someone that you don't have to worry about taking shortcuts and fair prices, this is the company to call.

Last week (Wednesday night) I had a 3 panel light switch stop working. I reached out to Charleston Electric via there website on Thursday morning, and received an auto response email that said I would be contacted within 2 hours. I did not receive a call until Friday afternoon. I briefly explained what had happened, and a technician was scheduled to come Monday between 10 - 11am. He arrived on-time, but that was the only good part of his visit. He inspected the 3 panel switch, and found that one of the three wires had burned out. He was unable to determine where the electrical wires went to, and suggested the only way to repair it would be to tear into the walls. In the short term, he just capped off the dead wire. He was at least able to get the other 2 switches working. I was disappointed that he neither investigated or could comment on where/how the burned wire happened or where it was run, even after I told him which specific lights that switch worked. Nor did he offer to further investigate. He only told me it would cost a lot of money to repair (which is a bold statement considering he couldn't fully explain the problem and didn't seem to know how best to repair). He inspected the main breaker box in the house, and after poking around with all the wires in the breaker box, the main can lights in our kitchen stopped working. (They had been working just fine earlier that morning.) He said it was due to a faulty dimmer switch, left our home and went out to purchase a new switch. He came back and installed the new switch. All of this cost me $300. I am appalled at the price of the work done, and find the need for the dimmer switch questionable. We had no issues with this light switch until he came into our home. ***** UPDATE: The owner of the company, William, immediately reached out to me after this review posted on Monday. He apologized, said he would not charge me for the services performed earlier in the day, and would personally come out to my home and look at the problem. He came on Wednesday (9/10), again apologizing for what had happened on Monday. It was clear to see how much pride he took in his work and his company. Within an hour he had located the cause of the problem and immediately began working to fix the issue by replacing the faulty wiring, as well as replacing one light switch that was getting stuck. He was pleasant, professional and did a wonderful job explaining what had happened and correcting the problem. He was even gracious enough to allow the originally paid $300 to stand, even though the work he had done cost more than $300. He took great care to ensure I had a wonderful customer experience. And I would absolutely call on William again for future needs. I am always impressed by great customer service, but I am even more impressed by how a company responds to a negative experience, and William went above and beyond to correct a sour experience. The service I received from William was A+, but to be fair to the first service I received my overall experience is a B. But I would absolutely recommend William, and would certainly tell others of how he handled this situation.

Technicians who came to the house were polite and professional. However, no work was done as I did not need them for the level of effort that was intended as part of the offer. Not a particularly good use of my $99. That said, I would consider hiring this company in the future as a result of the responsiveness and courtesy of their technicians.

William came out to the house and fixed the problem the same day that I called in. He was prompt, professional, and resolved the issue quickly. This was for a very small project/issue, but I am happy to now have someone that I will certainly call again!

This is the 2nd time we've used Charleston Electric. We will definitely use them again as the need arises. I originally called William this time to get information about what all was needed to safely run a portable generator. We've never been here for a hurricane and wanted the peace-of-mind that having a generator would provide...but we were clueless as to where to begin. With his recommendation, we purchased a propane generator and the transfer switch panel kit. After that, we scheduled a service date. William and Robert showed up on time, installed necessary components and then showed us how to use our new equipment. We feel we've benefited from William's expertise. The fact that he offered to let us call him at home in the event of problems or questions makes us feel that much more secure! Being able to use the Angie's List coupon was icing on the cake!!

I've had 3 different electricians doing simple items. This guy was by far the best and the only one I would use again. He didn't complain about any wiring issues. He simply did his job, repaired what needed to be done and was in and out.

I could not be more pleased. Very rare when a contractor advises you if you have any problems that you are welcome to contact him at home. While I would be very hesitant to impose in that matter it does give peace of mind. I would highly recommend and would certainly use again. In the approximate cost of service the figure included the unit, installation of unit and the electrical work.

Charleston Electric provided excellent service - William and Robert were extremely professional, thorough in their explanations, arrived on time, cleaned up after the job was complete and were prompt in returning phone calls. Most importantly, they did great electrical work, so now we can rest assured that our home and family are safe. We found Charleston Electric on Angie's List and highly recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work (small and big jobs). Overall, awesome company.

The electrician came the next morning after I called. He was very professional. Everything he did was explained very well. I'd definitely call them again with an electrical problem.

Mike and Rob were quick and efficient. The deal is supposed to have a maximum ceiling height but apparently was not updated yet. They honored the price even though the height made it a two man job instead of a one man job. I purchased the deal and they performed the work the next day.

Overall, everything went great and I am very happy with all of the services that were performed. The first thing they did was remove a ceiling fan in the bedroom, which was done in about 5 minutes. They then moved on to fixing three electrical outlets, one which was non-working (ended up that it just wasn't wired correctly) and two in the dining room which we were told by our home inspector were and quot;fightingand quot; each other. They then assembled and hung a chandelier which I had bought online and was in pieces - this one was smaller and hung in the dining room. However, the most time consuming project was assembling and hanging a crystal chandelier from the ceiling of a two-story foyer. The chandelier was completely unassembled when they arrived. They assembled the whole chandelier, which included threading a wire through each of the 180 glass balls and hanging each ball one by one after the chandelier was hung. Very painstaking work. They used scaffolding to hang the chandelier, which was very professional. Throughout the entire job, they were very friendly and professional. I was very impressed with their positive and pleasant attitude, even as they were assembling the crystal chandelier, which definitely was just a pain to put together. I would definitely hire them again for any future electrical work.

These guys were outstanding! It was a pleasuring having them in the house because they were so professional.

They did a great job. They went up in the attic and were working for awhile but overall I would highly recommend them. When they left they were just as neat as when they came.

The electricians, William and Robert, showed up right on time and worked efficiently to complete the job in a reasonable amount of time. We discussed some options and they offered good advice as to how and what we should do to best solve some lighting problems. I'm pleased with the new lighting and after a week everything seems to be working well. I'd be happy to recommend them to other home-owners.

We found out we had purchased one of the more complicated ceiling fans to assemble and install, and boy were we glad to have Charleston Electric get it up and running! The install was on a vaulted ceiling, which complicated matters anyway, besides the fact that the existing box in the ceiling was insufficient to support the fan and had to be replaced. We are grateful that there was a spare box in the truck that could be used! Besides the ceiling fan install, we had switches and outlets replaced, some with dimmer/fan controls, and nightlight outlets in our upstairs hallway. Bill got a lot done in the 2-hour 'deal' timeframe, and we are definitely going to have Charleston Electric come back to help us with replacing other switches/outlets, reworking a bad installation for an outside fixture, and a laundry list of other electrical work.

Hung five lights for me dining room, foyer, 3 hallways. Bought coupon on Angie's list for Charleston electric. looking for a good electrician for a major kitchen remodel. I am very pleased to report William Rusch, the owner is excellent. He is very personable, knowledgeable and has many good ideas for my kitchen remodel, I have hired him to perform the work. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of good electrician.

I never received a call from them or if they did they didn't leave any messages. I get unavailable calls frequently.
