Charleston Electric

The company did great. My issue is that I paid $60.00 for 4 hours work. I took them about 1 1/2 hours to do the work. There was no way to "bank" the remaining time so it was lost. It would have been less expensive to just hire an electrician outright than to buy the special. This was not told up front.

They called back promptly and scheduled for the next morning. Amazingly, the electrician came exactly when scheduled. He was thorough, professional and efficient. I would certainly call them again and would recommend this company without reservation.

I am getting ready to sell my house, so I wanted to have an electrician come in to ensure we would meet electrical code requirements in order to pass an inspection. Paul came in and solved one problem we had with what seemed to be a bad outlet on the front porch. We were shocked to learn that outlet was actually tied to the GFCI in the master bath, which had, in fact, been tripped! After looking at the power panel and confirming the wiring was sound, he had a little time left in my hour of service. With that in mind, he gave me some good advice on the need for GFCI's throughout the kitchen, even though the house met code in the early 80's. He also helped determine exactly how many circuits were actually in the kitchen. There was a little confusion when it came time to pay, but the owner honored my expectations, and all was good! I would definitely use this company in the future!

Paul explained to us it is time to replace our 14 year old smoke detectors. He explained they should be replaced every 10 years because the sensor eventually becomes coated with dust and will not work properly. Paul was the young man who did the job for us. Extremely nice, polite, efficient and does very neat work. We plan to use him for our future electrical needs. We were highly impressed.

Arrived as scheduled, quickly determined that the transformer was faulty, acquired a replacement and installed it. Changed one outdoor outlet to GFI with a switch to make the circuit live, then ran conduit to a different edge of the porch to put in another outdoor outlet for the fountain. All work was thoughtfully done.

They were very professional and efficient. Took care of job in about 30 minutes.

The electrician introduced himself, but unfortunately I don't remember his name. He was bearded. Anyway, he was on time, he got right to work, completed the job within 30 - 40 minutes and was patient with our dogs. I am not knowledgeable about proper electrical installation, but the lights work and everything looks very neat. I am very pleased with his work.

The electrician was very polite and notified me of the problem and options. He did not try to sell me anything else! He was on time and fast with the repair!

Steve Robinson was the electrician. He was exceptional, personable, and professional. He didn't miss any details, properly educated me about the electrical in my home, and completed great work overall. I highly recommend Steve and Charleston Electric to others.

.Our breaker kept tripping, so we called Charleston Electric. A very nice technician, Steve Robinson, came to check out the problem. Hw spotted the issue right away, and quickly fixed it. Steve was polite, professional, and an amazingly knowledgeable. I would call him back again if we had an electrical problem, and recommend Charleston Electric to anyone.

William was completely professional, and punctual to the point of being early. He gave me many good recommendations on how to improve the safety of my electrical system. He did the inspection, which I had purchased on Angie's List, the day before he was even required to contact me. I really appreciate him completing the inspection and the repair in a single trip to the house. I'm planning a renovation to the property, and will ask the contractor I hire to sub the electrical work to William. I trust him with my family's safety.

Steve Robinson and Paul showed up within the time frames they gave me. They listened to my explanation of the work I needed done, and got right to it. They diagnosed the living room outlet problem within one minute. The non-functioning bathroom outlets took about 15 minutes to fix since they were on the same breaker as an exterior outlet which had been disabled by recent floods. They then had enough time to install a new outlet in a closet. They were so efficient and profession they were in and out within the one hour time frame they had quoted. I'm VERY happy with the work.

Steve and Paul from Charleston Electric came promptly at scheduled time. Although I had stated over the phone that I had wanted specific projects addressed, but the time they showed up, I had made some changes. Steve and Paul adjusted with no problem and helped me to make decide what would be the best course of action. They hung the ceiling fan and lights with skill and efficiency -- I was impressed with how focused they were but at the same time friendly and polite. My four dogs were barking and it didn't seem to phase either of them. They completed their work in a little more than an hour, which I was very impressed by, and I was also impressed by the price which was very reasonable especially given the quality of work. I would highly recommend this company and especially these two guys Steve and Paul -- they were awesome!!!

VERY GOOD , FOUND SOME AREAS NEEDING MORE ATTENTION , RETURNED TO INSTALL NEW FIRE ALARMS , FIX FAULTY OUTLETS , ETC.

More thorough than I was, Charleston Electric saw that I had 6 smoke detectors, not the 4 that I counted. It was necessary to go to Loewe's to get the two extra detectors in order to replace all 6. I should have asked about the cost: $150. an hour. I feel confident that my alarms and wiring are safe and operating.

It went very well. I'm happy he found the problem areas. Makes me feel much safer.

This electricians who came were friendly, thorough, and highly professional. For each issue they discovered, they explained everything to me in a calm manner! There were several code violations at the circuit breaker, each of the fire alarms was expired for 4 years (!), and they answered each and every question I posed to them with information I could easily understand!!! Their ability to calmly communicate and offer great feedback was outstanding!!! The owner dispatched them out for repairs - everything was so simple and smooth. BEST $75 I ever spent !!! (FYI, additional repair work and "convenience" work was done at a later time...all went perfect!)

The workers arrived during the time period they agreed to and were friendly and courteous. They did a very good job and we are happy with the work performed. We are unhappy with the price which was decided by the management. We called for a quote since we were not sure how much it would be to fix the kitchen light rather than scheduling through Angie's List. At the time we thought the quote was reasonable and were assuming the work would take around 3 hours. We informed the workers that we found them through Angie's List when they arrived expecting that we would get some of the discounts listed on the site. However, when they called their management to get the price for the job they were told that we couldn't get any of the discounts because we did not purchase their service directly through Angie's List. They did 2 hours of work. They replaced a ballast in our kitchen light which took about 10 minutes and cost $100. Then installed two outdoor ceiling fans for $125 each. On Angie's List they have an hour of work listed for $125 which would have been a total of $250. We paid $100 more than that just because of the way we scheduled the service. We felt that scheduling by calling the business would be best because we didn't want to purchase an arbitrary number of hours. We have used other Angie's List providers and have not scheduled them through Angie's List directly and received the stated Angie's List discount. So $100 more because we called them to schedule the work seems ridiculous. We did not even receive the 5% Angie's List member discount because we scheduled via the phone instead of through Angie's List. We would be more than happy to have the workers do future work at our home but will not be utilizing this company again because of the pricing practices.

The services were performed to my satisfaction. They were friendly and professional.
