Aviv Service Today

I purchased a service call through Angie's List, and I received a call from Aviv within 10 minutes of the purchase. The person on the phone was very courteous, she answered all my questions and scheduled the service the next day. I received a call as promised the next morning to let me know the serviceman would be out between 2-5. The serviceman called me on the way, and arrived in the specified window of time. He took great care to explain everything he was doing, answered all my questions, and replaced my ice maker in 40 minutes. He cleaned out behind and under my fridge, too. I recommend Aviv and would use them again.

He was very efficient and informative. He ended up charging me less than initially quoted due to the fact that the situation was not as advanced as he first thought it might be.

YESTERDAY MIKE JAMES WAS THE TECHMICIAN SENT BY YOUR COMPANY TO REPAIR OUR DRYER. WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE WORK HE DID FOR US. WE APPRECIATED HIS PROFESSIONAL MANNER, HIS CARE IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM AND EXPLANING WHAT HE THAUGHT WOULD BE THE BEST OPTION FOR US. HE ALSO GAVE US TIPS ABOUT KEEPING THE DRYER WORKING MORE EFFECIANTLY. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO HAVE SUCH A NICE YOUNG MAN IN OUR HOME.

Brian was very professional, courteous, and had a good sense of humor. Very attentive to his task. Was very competent doing work--used references, took care in doing work, and was careful around the kitchen. I would call this company again. He cleaned up after himself. I will definitely call AVIV again. Interestingly, unknown to this repair company and the repair man, I'd had another company look at the stove about 2 weeks earlier. Their repairman identified the same basic issue, but, because they never called me back to tell me about the part, after I'd made 4 calls to them, they said the part was old, no longer made, not available, and they could not fix it. obviously they were wrong!! I will never call them again!

Brian, Tommy, and Mike K. did great. They had to come out twice due to the manufacturer sending a package with a part missing. Brian took time to explain and teach us about the care needed to prevent breakdowns .

They were extremely professional and helpful. They help us save money when they realized we didn't need to have a service call.

As "murphy's law" would have it.......the washer did not make the squealing noise on spin cycle for the technician so I cannot comment on the workmanship or the price......However, the technician was very professional and did his best to check the drum and look for any signs of wear and he did run the machine to see if he could make the sound happen in order to determine the cause.. So without the noise happening at the time, he could not pinpoint the problem.. He did suggest it could be a bearing issue which the estimated cost would be more than I would want to invest.........luckily my service call fee is good for 90 days so I can call them back if the sound reappears without having to pay that again.......I think that is an awesome benefit that this company offers......along with the other warranty on parts and labor...

Various things were found wrong with this refrigerator. They were fixed. It was satisfactory.

They were prompt in scheduling and the technician was very knowledgeable and polite. I am a technician myself but I don't specialize in appliances so I had worked on the stove and could not figure out the problem. I was told by another repair service I should bring it in and was about to do that. So glad I bought this service call on Angies list, it spared me the hassle of hauling my range to the repair shop. We discussed what the problem was and what I had done and the technician pointed me to the one part I had not changed and knew nothing about. Ordered the part online and replaced it and now everything works like new for a fraction of the cost.

t, I should have remembered this company from a prior experience. From research, I know exactly what is wrong with my dishwasher . The control switch needs to be replaced, but am hesitant to try the repair myself . So now I am out 84.95 to be told" I think the switch is bad " , yes I knew that. The job to fix the dishwasher will be $325. how much is the part? The technician does not know , I do $89. So I just spent $84.95 to find out what should have been able to be relayed on the phone. The price to replace the control switch on a Frigidaire dishwasher will be ____. I could decide yes or no whether to do business with you. As I recall I had the same experience before, probably paid less. My fault for not asking the right questions, but keep in mind when you enlist these folks, there will a charge of $84.95 up front to tell you "you have a problem". Then your quote will not include a breakdown for parts and labor, if you can not disclose your costs I prefer not to do business with you. I have been had.

Repair technician was professional, respectable, and did a quick replacement. The part was on the truck so it was a quick trip.

The provider, AVIV ,came out promptly after a phone call. My dishwasher was leaking and I used Angie's List to pay for a small appliance repair. The workman was very knowledgeable about dishwashers. After he found the leak in my dishwasher ( which was a hose) he also noticed that my garbage disposal was leaking. I thought I was going to set up a separate appointment. The workman said the he had one in the truck(WOW!) and he installed it. I was thrilled not the have to pay another diagnostic fee. He looked in a professional notebook that listed all the types of jobs and how much. I liked that the prices are written out regulated instead of just some number price with no documentation. I would use them again.

The entire process went very well, but even considering the good overall quality the cost was way, way out of line. The technician showed up on time as promised, and after hearing our problem description said he knew the problem was a failed control circuit board. He said it was common on this model Bosch dishwasher. He checked a few things, filters, etc. and left, spending probably less than 30 minutes on site. Charge for this visit: $159.95 After a week or so the part was in and a different technician arrived (on-time, as promised) to install it. I didn?t pay real close attention, but I would say it took no more than 20 min. to remove the cover, remove the old circuit board and install the new and replace the cover. Charge for this visit is the cost o the part: $348.17 This is an unbelievable charge for a simple dishwasher circuit board. One can buy an entire new notebook computer for less. With little effort I found the exact same, genuine Bosch, part at Sears on-line, for $147.48, including tax, and it?s in-stock. AVIV?s price is a 136% mark-up over Sear?s, retail price. Total bill: $500.48 - unacceptable. I am willing to pay a fair price for good service and quality work, but this kind of manipulation leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The service technician came; checked it out and said my temperature was too high. He said to lower it and it should work in a few days. If not he could put a heater on it for $200. There was no change and I did not want to spend the money for a 12 year old refrigerator. Problem was not solved but was not company fault.

Husband states the technician was only there about 20 minutes.

We came home Friday after Thanksgiving to find our refrigerator/freezer not operating. We called Aviv at 5:30 pm and they were still working! They sent a service man within 1 hour!! He repaired it within 1 hour and we were back in operation before 8 pm. Imagine that. The repair was costly but well worth it!,

Job completed within 3days,including getting ice

Repairman came out to assess the oven Said I needed a new "Main Control" and said it would cost an additional $365.00 for this job. I called another business and was told that the Main Control only costs $106 and that they would only charge $100 to install.... I hired them. Work was done in 15 minutes (literally just take off the backing to the oven and plug in the new Main Control). Aviv wanted to charge me $365 for THAT? Geez. I'll never call them again . . . .

Excellent service from the beginning. We used the web service to request a service and the office phoned us back very quickly. A technician was sent out the next day and he arrived on time. Quickly diagnosed the issue and had replacement parts on truck. Repaired the problem with a single visit. Fantastic service. Couldn't have been happier - unless Green Bay wins the superbowl!

He found the problem quickly and cleaned what was causing the problem. Have me additional advice as well. I have used them several times and they are always awesome! !

My property manager used them to repair a washing machine. Their bill of over $400 for replacing a water valve looked certainly in the high end of the range. And additionally, they do not separate labors from parts on their billing, so that they charge a sales tax on what would have been labor cost as well, which is a rather unprofessional thing to do. I called them up about the sales tax issue. The lady who answered contended that they were selling the job as a package so they were required to change sales tax on the "package". I questioned that why they would want to sell the job as a "package", rather than itemizing parts and labor separately, like 99% of other businesses would do. She said that she would talk to the managers and someone would get back to me on that. No one ever did.

On Sunday evening, we noticed that our refrigerator's temperatures in both the freezer and refrigerator sections were rising. We called Aviv early Monday morning, and by 10:00 am, a technician was working on the problem. He determined that the evaporator coils were leaking and ordered the necessary parts. A more senior technician returned the next day and determined that the leak was caused by an earlier problem that had not been correctly fixed by GE technicians a few years earlier. He was able to correct the problem without having to replace all of the parts. Concurrently, we had a part, ordered by GE on an earlier visit, to fix a broken circuit panel for the special-function drawer (quick chill or thaw). It turned out that GE had sent the wrong part for our year's model. However, the Aviv technician was able to use the new circuit board in the new part to replace the defective circuit board and fixed that problem as well. We have used Aviv for other appliance problems and would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to friends and neighbors.

We were very unhappy with them. They were out about a year ago. I ended up fixing it myself since they couldn't figure it out. They could have had knowledgeable techs. They ended up sending me out at least two different people and neither one of them figured it out so I went online and figured it out.

Terrible. Did not determine problem, but said it MAY be the condenser. It would cost $750 to try it. No guarantees it would be repaired.
