Aviv Service Today

Doug came promptly on the same day that I called them. He determined that the ice machine motor had frozen. He thawed it. I asked him to replace the filter which he did quickly. He didn't try to upsell me, he didn't try to do anything that would cost me more. He was great. I intend to use Aviv for all my appliance repair issues from now on.

Happened to be near our house already and was there within an hour. Spent 1-2 hours diagnosing and repairing and gave some helpful hints for future operation.

I called to have them come out and look at a refrigerator door that appeared to have a bent hinge and get a quote on fixing. When I called, I was not made aware of the cost of their visit being $75 or thereabouts per appliance. The technician was a little spacey and smelled terribly of cigarettes. I was told that it would take two men to replace the hinge and the cost of parts and labor would be about $300. For an old fridge in a family beach house, this seemed silly. We could replace the whole thing for a little more, but I hated to do that considering nothing else was wrong with the unit. I got online and found appliancepartspros.com. You enter in the manufacturer number. Look at schematics to find your part and order. Totally easy and my part ended up costing me about $21. My husband repaired the refrigerator in about 10 minutes! And, as for that second man, we used a metal dog bowl turned upside down to hold the door up!! Whole experience cost me about $100 and we saved $200. Next time, I will not call for help and try to manage on my own if it is such a simple fix. I think that their estimate was completely overpriced!

The serviceman trouble shot the problem and clearly explained and showed me what was going wrong. Even though the refrigerator was only 6 years old the failure was major and very costly to fix. It was suggested we compare the cost of buying a new refrigerator. In the end we found a new refrigerator for about the cost estimate of the repair. It had a few less features but was similar. Aviv service was on time and reasonably priced an provided an honest analysis of our situation, I would certainly use them again.

Within an hour of my phone call, a service person arrived at my house. He immediately diagnosed the problem, explained to me exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done, and then he replaced the part that needed replacing. He cleaned up behind himself and I could not be more satisfied!!!! His name was Ofer and I would not hesitate to call them again if I need help.

Michael and Tommy provided excellent service. replacement keypad was replaced, dishwasher tested, and worked great.during assembly one of the door latch parts broke. Aviv replaced -no charge because it happened during the repair.I could not be more pleased with the professionalism of these folks. and all this happened during the 4th of July week!!! This is my second experience with Aviv and I would recommend them without reservation- just top notch!!

The service was wonderful. The technician arrived on time and was neat and clean. He determined the problem with the washing machine, fixed it and some shoddy work that the previous company had done and then he put the door back on to my laundry closet which has been hanging for months. When I asked him how much it would be, he told me that it was included because it was a quick call and he just wanted to be sure everything was OK. I will never call another appliance repair company.

I would not do business with this company.

Tommy got to the house when he said he would was able to find and fix the problem in about 20 minutes. I would call them again if I needed them.

It required 3 calls, as they mis-diagnosed the problem twice. However, they did come back promptly and gave me a credit for the calls and a part that did not fix the problem. The refrigerator is now working normally and I am happy with the end result.

Serviceman was prompt, which was a top concern, then took the time to properly diagnose the problem with my dishwasher. When he found that it would cost roughly $300 to repair, he did not encourage me to let him order the part, instead, he told me I might want to take a few days to see what was out there. I was impressed when he said this, because it told me the company was honest and was not just out to get my money. He said whether or not to repair the machine was entirely a personal choice, depending on how much I liked the machine. I paid for the service call, took a few days to scour Charleston looking for another, and did not find one with all the features this one has. Needless to say, I called them back, had the part ordered and the machine now runs like new. I will recommend this company to everyone I know!!!

He told me what I needed to know about my washer and got it fixed. He was reasonably priced and he even came after hours in the cold which was very nice of him.

The exeprience could not of been better. We selected Aviv Service today based upon previous Angies List recommendations, and being new to Seabrook Isalnd, did not know any repair companies. From start to finish, everyone was very professional and the customer service was outstanding. Everything exceeded my expectations- well done!!!

I thought they were reasonably priced. Also, they were very available. They were prompt and very professional. I had a dishwasher part that needed to be replaced. They had it ordered and sent directly to me, so that I would not have to pay for the service to actually put it in. It was something I could by myself; I really appreciated that. I would use them again in the future; I was planning to call them soon.

The experience was excellent. Doug arrived on time after had called to let me know he was on his way prior to his arrival as did the central office dispatcher. Doug was professional, courteous and obvioulsy a skilled technican. He spent about and hour and a half at my house and successfully repaired the problem. From start to finish I could not have asked for better service. I think the punctuality, communication, price and professionalism of the experience were all excellent. Based on this very positive experience, I would not hesitate to call Aviv again. I wish all my experiences with service providers were this good. Great job!

My technician had to work longer on the repair than either of us expected due to the complexity of our dryer but stayed true to the pre-repair estimate. He even gave me maintenance tips on other large appliances around the house. Friendly, courteous and generous with information. I hope not to have to use Aviv for appliance repair again but they will be my first call in the future (if necessary).

They have a reasonable rate and they actually on-site fix things; unlike some other local service companies. They are very honest about what they are doing and I will use them again in the future.

We've used them for many years. It went well. The service was good and their prices are reasonable.

Our refridgerator would not cool & the ice machine would not make ice. He came that same day I called & checked the refrigerator, told us what was wrong, & gave us an estimate of the cost to fix it. Then, after I agreed, he fixed it right away. It took a few hours to fix it, but when he was finished, everything worked but the ice machine.

The experience was very pleasant. I would call Aviv repair service again. The other companies I called were to busy and left me hanging waited for them to call me back. Aviv was very very helpful!

called Aviv Service Today to fix our icemaker on July 4th. They promptly called back and sent someone out to look at it after our property management company said "the motor was broke and needed to be replaced". The gentleman from Aviv found that there was ice blocking the pipe and therefore the icemaker was fine. He fixed and replaced the water filter. I was delighted that it could be fixed. He was prompt and polite. The company called and asked if I was pleased with the service. I would definatelyuse them again.

Probably two years ago my girlfriends's ex somehow managed to break the ice dispenser door on her refrigerator. It had always annoyed me but I didn't know where to get started as far as fixing it so I turned to Angie's list and found the highest rated large appliance repair people in town. That would be Aviv Service. My girlfriend scheduled a time for them to come to the house to look at the unit and give us an estimate. The service technician arrived on time and in a word was great. He was polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. In a few seconds he had the plastic frame off the dispenser and identified the specific problem. A small piston that closes the ice trap door was broken off. Without it the door hung loose and would not return to the closed position. He told me that he honestly did not know if it could be fixed. He did whip out a zip tie and we worked out a way to wedge the door closed. I had used similar methods in the past but didn't want to discourage the guy :) I also don't think I told him that it had been broken for almost 2 years.... After that we began discussing the cost of the repair. He stated that depending on the manufacturer it might be cheaper to replace the entire door if a repair part was not available. I asked him how much that could cost and he responded with a number that could easily buy an entirely new refrigerator, which he acknowledged. He further stated that he would talk to his service manager about the issue and they would see if they could find a repair part and get back to me. Great I thought, these guys are on the ball! And this is where it all went down hill. He finished filling out an invoice and told me that today's visit was $70.00...... Scuse me? I must have done a double take because he said something about a service visit cost. I politely said OK and handed over my credit card. But honestly I was a bit confused. I figured maybe there was some kind of communication mix up between my girlfriend and the company and I would work it out later. So lets recap.... I just paid $70.00 for a technician to come to my home and tell me that he may or may not be able to fix my refrigerator? I Don't know about any of you but I am not in the habit of paying for an estimate and last I checked a zip ties were a lot cheaper than $70. Estimates are a cost of doing business plain and simple. Frankly though, I wasn't going to get any other estimates because if the people here at Angie's list say a business is OK then I take that to the bank..... Sadly not true this time. Either way my refrigerator repair plans came to a crashing halt later that night as my girlfriend ended up in the ER for the next week. Aviv Service did call the next day and informed me that there was a repair kit available for approximately $250. They wanted to know if they could order the part and schedule the repair. At this point I already had a bad taste in my mouth over the "service visit" charge so I told them I would get back to them and frankly didn't think anything of it until a week or so later when they called again. This time they wanted to know when they could come over to repair the unit as they had ordered the part and it had arrived. Ummmmm... who gave you permission to order anything??? At this point I resigned myself to having a broken ice door till the end of time because I was done with Aviv Service! To their credit they continued to call every few days and leave messages on my phone asking about the job ect. Did we still want them to perform the work. But really.... this translates to me as we ordered a part, its expensive, we don't want to get stuck with it, Please pay us! I finally called them back and told them, very politely, that I had never authorized them to purchase the part and that I was upset about the $70 service charge. The woman I talked to was very nice and offered to take 10% off the cost of the repair if I chose to go through with it. I thought to myself 10% is a h*** of a lot less than $70 but I did want it fixed so I set up a time for them to come back and perform the repair. Of course the day before they call to confirm the appointment.....Then they call to tell me OOoops, We don't have the part after all.... To recap, Aviv Service has very professional and knowledgeable staff. They are also very friendly. Too bad their business practices suck. Suffice to say I am done with Aviv Service!

They have done previous repairs for me on all my equipment. They take care of appliance sales as well. They are very professional, punctual, clean and neat. I would use them again in the future.

I don't use appliance repair companies that often, so when I had a problem with my refrigerator, I decided to check Angies list. I saw that Aviv Service Today had great reviews so I decided to call them. From the initial phone call, to the technician (Robert) showing up on time the next day, it was a first class experience. Robert found the problem within a few minutes. He genuinely seem to feel bad when telling us he had bad news. He showed us the exact problem (major freon leak in the evaporator) and went on to tell us that the repair may be almost as expensive as replacing the refrigerator. He was personable, friendly and appeared to be professional in his craft. Without a doubt, I will refer my friends and will use Aviv in the future when needed.

We are new to Mt. Pleasant and had made an appt. with another company, after reading Angie's reviews (D) of this company I cancelled and scheduled Aviv to diagnosis and repair, the complete process was explained to me as he checked out the frig., he repaired some problems that day and ordered parts which came in a few days later and was promptly repaired. I received a follow-up call from the company a few days later. I would use and recommend this company.
