Description of Work: We hired All About Windows to put up fake wood blinds throughout our beach house. They took down the old vinyl blinds and installed the wood blinds. They did a great job!

Description of Work: Mary Ann Gahafer assisted me in the selection of window treatments for a new home. She was very patient and thorough in presenting alternative choices. Her knowledge of the products and the "pros and cons" of the individual shades was excellent, and she was very thorough in explaining the best applications for specific windows. Installation was prompt and very professional, and Harry has been back to assist with one remote shade and to help with a small hardware issue; service was very prompt and adjustments worked very well. I really appreciated the follow-up a year or more after installation. That was a very welcome service.

+ -1 moreI got estimates from two companies. They were the higher bid, but I went back to them because they were the most knowledgeable and were very willing to be competitive in the pricing. They really know their stuff. They were very responsive, helpful and very professional.
Description of Work: They measured the windows, recommended window treatments, did the installation and painting of the shutters.

+ -1 moreThe first meeting was June 12, 2007 for an estimate of work, August 14, 2007, order placed. I was told it could take only a few weeks. I had to follow up with them numerous times. I was finally e-mailed that they would be installed Oct 19. They came to install the shutters on Nov 20 but they couldn't--now they needed additional hinges for an extra $500. The shutters installed were already painted - they knew I wanted my painter to do this - and identical shutters (in style) to what I had was being installed. That's not what we agreed to. We discussed the type EVERYONE is now installing and that there will be no problem with the BAR (Board of Architectural Review). When I called them on it, they were sorry. BUT they reminded me I didn't need to go to the BAR with these shutters, but Mr. Gahaafer told me all the new shutters installed in downtown Charleston are the wood board and that they would last longer than the slate type, but when called on this they hide behind the BAR.
Description of Work: Order four sets of shutters for the exterior of the house, they came out twice to measure. I decided on the type and style, and told them that my painter would paint them, since I just had the house painted and I wanted to be sure the color was correct. They would take down the old shutters and install the new one at $4100 for all work. I asked about additional costs - none.
