A-1 SEPTIC TANK SVC

Horrible experience! They came out in January to pump my septic, charged me over $600 for it (even though they noted on the invoice they only charged me $375 because their tech pocketed the remainder), then two months later, I have sewage all over my yard and they are saying that they don't guarantee their work even though their tech told me I should be good for another 3-5 years. Customer service is not their thing, so don't call. Rude, hung up on more than once, even when I agreed to pay them double to come out and fix what they broke.

Fast, painless experience. I called on a Friday and was able to schedule the clean out for the following morning. Office staff was fantastic about checking their records to see when the tank was last serviced, as we are new owners who have never been on a septic system before. Technicians arrived within the time frame scheduled and made quick work of it. Were very informative.

I'd not had my septic tank pumped out in over 10 years. Not experiencing problems. Just didn't want any! Called A-1 based on Angies List reviews. Not sure if price is comparable to others but I was comfortable with it. They called prior to arriving but arrived about 1/2 hour late. Not a big deal. Stuff happens. The person that arrived and did the work took time to explain what he was doing and and answer all of my questions. I think he did a good job and I'd recommend this company to others.

Not knowing anything about my septic system(we bought a home in an area that has pressure system to city sewer) Harry (Owner) took time to explain the system fully to me. They emptied my tanks and checked the system for proper operation including my tank alarm system which is tied to the septic tanks. Good job. My alarm came on a few days later after the date of repair. I contacted A1 and they promptly came back and inspecting the tanks for the problem. Problem was minor, they made the adjustment to the float valves and were on their way. No charge for coming back to make the adjustment. Great people.

Initial responsiveness was fine. Crew of 2 arrived on time as scheduled, dug up tank, pumped tank, dug up old drain field and installed new drain field. One of the two crew did 90% of work - the other fellow told me he was actually a painter and spent his time trying to solicit work from me. Issues: 1. Left the yard in messy condition, this because as they excavated the old drain field, they made no attempt to separate the 3and quot; of top soil from the marl underneath so left the front yard with a surface of marl and old effluent from the removed drain field -- took considerable work and bringing in top soil to reestablish grass in the area. 2. After less than one year had the same issue that had lead to calling A1 --- septic tank not draining into drain field. Tried to reach A1 but no answer and no return call - so called Knight Septic and they came out and pumped tank Called Servant Plumbing and they came out and stated that A1 should have put a and quot;Tand quot; on the inlet pipe to the tank, that the original and quot;Tand quot; had fallen off -- they also said that there should be a and quot;Tand quot; on the discharge pipe for the septic tank but that A1 had only put a piece of flexible pipe on the discharge side- which could float up and prevent discharge. 3. I had Servant fix the inlet side to the septic tank and again tried to get A1 on the telephone to come out and take care of the discharge side - or at least in fairness to tell me if they thought Servant Plumbing was mistaken. A person from A1 did call back and said that he was going to come out to inspect, but to this date he had not shown up, so I will now have to bring in someone again to inspect the discharge side of the tank. A1 was responsive and originally came out and did the work in reasonable fashion I thought, but that is irrelevant if not done properly so that it continues to work for many years. The only reason that I thought the job done correctly is that my home had minimal occupancy for a long time so there was minimal use of the septic tank. When the issue was discovered is because I had a house full of company so all bathrooms in use and septic tank immediately backed up. --- Not good and no fun for my visitors. Ultimately I am having to pay for the same job - twice. Usually I do not take time to complain, but I found A1 on Angie's List with good reviews and that is why I contacted them.

The company arrived on time and completed the job in about an hour. The price quoted on the phone was the price that they charged. All work was professional and all cleanup was complete. Very satisfied. Thank you!!

I called A-1, and Cindy called me back within 15 minutes to schedule an appointment for the same morning. Within 2 hours, the serviceman was here and gone, my septic was pumped out, and he advised us on a remedy for the drainage (our pipe out of the house into the tank was out too far, and needed to be cut off flush with the tank). Super fast, super friendly, and very professional. He even explained to me how my whole pump system worked. I had no clue. I would definitely use these folks again for service, and would highly recommend them to other members. I also felt that the price was very reasonable. Thanks A-1 !!
