"These gentlemen seemed to be pretty honest and fair. I decided to help a teen in my neighborhood and they even offered to help train him. Suddenly they just stopped showing up after years of service, so I think they really didn't like that I split the job. That's nice, but a good business such as this should have had a conversation with me and not just disappear. As a senior who had plenty of great conversations with them, I would have expected better. Topsoil should go down first. If the topsoil is next to your house, make sure the grade slopes away from the house to keep water from pooling against your foundation and possibly leaking into your basement or crawl space.
