Spring Construction

Very disappointed with Spring Construction and the owner, George Hutchinson. I contracted them to replace part of a wall due to a leak. I was told it would take 3-5 days to complete. It was completed in less than 5 hours by 2 men (and this included their lunch break). Once some of the siding was off, you could see that the wood discoloration was not as high as expected so they didn’t need to remove all the siding or reseal the window, both of which were on the bid of $2,850. They did replace a small part of the wall that was rotting and after they finished, John Hutchinson told me there was no leak, most likely water had built up in the wall and they had taken care of it. They did not take care of the leak, as I saw fresh water after they “fixed” the problem. Because Spring Construction was unable to find the leak, I contacted another contractor and he was able to properly fix the leak. After that, I spoke with George to see if I could have some of the cost refunded. He was only willing to refund $100. That was not acceptable to me. He informed me that their last 3 jobs were underbid and they did not go back to the homeowner for the additional costs. I felt he was indicating that it was my responsibility to make up the difference because of their overbid on my property, I was told that the bid was the cost. During the call, George constantly interrupted me, called my handyman (who looked at the problem originally) an idiot and hung up on me. Horrible customer service, especially from an owner, and I question their honesty because they expect me to pay for services they did not perform and materials I did not receive.

I knew I would hire him from the start when I met him. He is a straight shooter! We needed Stucco work done potentially on a large wall. He told us up front that we should get an assessment for moisture done before he would determine what work was needed. We had another company say that they would replace the entire wall for $26,000 without any measurements. After the assessment, George tackled a small targeted area. His guys did stellar work and started earlier than anticipated and finished in less time than they thought. Color matches beautifully! VERY PROFESSIONAL!

Spring Construction was a reference from our Realtor for a problematic stucco wall on my Dad's house. I called them from out of town and within a day or two I already had a Quote. Price was what we expected and they understood the urgency of our situation (trying to get a house on the market) and finished the work within a week and a half. Great communication before we signed the contract and excellent follow-up during the project keeping me in the loop along the way since I was out of town. I totally recommend Spring Construction.

It turned out perfect and I would give him 5 stars across the board.
