Description of Work: The installed pavers to widen my driveway, 2 foot on each side. The project involved 42 linear feet, or 84 aquare feet. The had to excavate, relocate four sprinkler heads, hand mix and place a 2 in thick concrete base before installing the 2 in thick concrete pavers. All work was done in one day. The project was on time and there were no additional costs.

Description of Work: Quality Hardscapes installed a decorative landscape wall running in a free-form shape along both sides of my yard and across the back of the yard. The stone-like concrete block was installed with two courses of wall block and finished with matching cap block on the sides of the yard and a single course and cap across the back. We built up the sides of the yard because the grade was lower there compared to the backyard. The owner, Fabio Santios, was punctual for the measurement and estimate of the work. He actually came out twice to go over a few more questions and concerns I had before contracting with them. I found their charges to be much more reasonable than the two other estimates I received - American Paving Design with Tim Niemiec & Carolyn's Landscaping in Hilton Head - which were quite a bit more for the same job. Quality Hardscapes is the company that a couple local nurseries use for their hardscape installations, so I just cut out the middle man and hired them directly. The team of 5-6 guys showed up promptly on the scheduled start date and finished in a timely manner. They performed two full days of steady work. His crew were polite and very hard working. They dug out to the proper depth, cut out tree roots, checked level, and layed crushed stone for the necessary base. On the second day, two of the "finishing" guys came back for the top wall cap. The finishing cap required a concrete saw to cut the pieces to form a continuous look. I was pleased to find that they were very picky about how these pieces fit together and took their time to assure a professional job. I would watch the work from time to time, so I know they were conscious about it. I observed them recutting a few pieces when they apparently didn't like the result, which reminded me of myself :) . The final step was to glue the caps in place. All debris was removed upon completion, and they swept the driveway and raked the yard around the worksite. They actually left me some extra gravel (no charge) for a project I wanted to do afterwards, which I thought was very nice. The leftover blocks were neatly stacked where I wanted them to be left. I want to mention that this price included all material. I figure the concrete blocks and wall cap alone cost about $1900, not including the paving base material.
