This was the second time I used Jeff Ballard Contracting and once again, they finished ahead of time and did an excellent job. I am getting this property ready to list for sale and it was empty as they painted the 1,450 square foot space. The closets, base boards and walls were painted. The kitchen was painted a medium yellow and you would never know by the finished job. The den and front hall area were a shade darker than the rest of the home and you would never know that either. The interior of my old home looks like brand new construction and that was my goal. Jeff and his team took great care to be neat and clean and did not soil the carpet or tile. They even touched up a few areas in my garage as an extra bonus to my job.

EXCELLENT!! We live out-of-state and Jeff was very communicative, we knew exactly what he was doing and when. When we did visit, he came over and went over everything to make sure we were 100% satisfied. We have hired Jeff to perform additional work.

The quote was outrageous, it was just too high. It was nearly twice the amount another company gave us. The estimate was free, and they were very nice. They were courteous, and professional, but the quote was too high. He came out like he didn't want the job. I wasn't impressed with him at all. We didn't get a good feeling about them, and my husband contracts people all the time. He responded right away.

This project ended a week and a half before the deadline and on budget. Jeff and his two employees, were always neat and clean in my home. My retirement community neighbors praised Jeff Ballard Contracting (JBC) for their work schedule and hard work. This might not seem important but when you only have one chance to make a first impression, in a new neighborhood, before moving into the house, this was a very big deal to me. Jeff spent 2 hours with me in the house during our first visit to prepare his quote. When requested Jeff furnished references for me to contact about his prior work. Great care was taken to cover cabinets, bathtubs and countertops during painting. JBC removed all the doors in the home and removed hardware before painting them. All demo materials and boxes from new fixtures were taken to the local solid waste facilities on a timely basis. JBC even covered the garage floor to ensure this area of home would be the same as the day they started. JBC met all deliveries for me. It was very important to me to update the venting fans, lighting and smoke detectors in the house. Jeff took a lot of time with me discussing the options and saved me time and money by adapting the old with the new ventilation fixtures into what became a beautiful result. The work completed on constructing the closet appears as if this was always part of the home. The French doors are level and open into the room as I requested. Without doing a total bathroom remodel, the master shower fits perfectly into the original bathroom layout. JBC worked very well with another tile contractor I hired to put down two floors in this house by coordinating materials and schedules. Jeff Ballard Contracting was found by me using Angie's List. I appreciate the honesty, work ethic and truthfulness of Jeff and his business web site.

This is a second home beach house so we met with Jeff to review what we wanted while we were down for a long weekend. He was very helpful with ideas talking notes and pictures to be sure he understood exactly what we wanted. He then sent us an e-mail outlining what he would do and the cost. We had several minor things to straighten out with an updated contract. Jeff was quick to get back with us with exactly what we wanted. This was important since we were doing this all remotely. We agreed on a schedule and he finished ahead of schedule. During the work he texed pictures of the work to keep us up to date. This was a nice touch since we were not there. All of his work was excellent quality. We are planning to have him do other work on our beach house and have already gotten estimates for several other projects.

I truly respect his honestly and certainly feel that since he had replied so quickly and since he gave me an honest opinion that he couldn't do the work, I truly feel that this company is very dependable and honest and I would highly recommend him to my neighbors.

Great. He did everything as promised and involved other providers when more serious work was needed (like installing a new electrical panel).

Excellent job by Jeff and his crew. They were punctual, professional and cleaned up each day. The house was empty but they treated it as though is was occupied. Excellent communication...everything was in writing so there were no questions on billing.

They were excellent. I give them all A's. They have extraordinary customer service. They work on time every single day, left when they said they were gonna leave. They were never late a minute, moved things and helped in a number of ways. They cleaned up after themselves beautifully and performed high-quality work. I will absolutely use them again. We already recommended them to our neighbors because we are pleased with them.

My husband and I interview six contractor, four of which we found on Angie's List. Jeff was the last contractor we interviewed and it was immediately obvious to both of us that we liked Jeff the best. Jeff was very professional and enthusiastic. He listened carefully to both of us and our ideas and never said he couldn't do any of the things we were looking to do. (A tip for other contractors: In my experience I have had many contractors meet with us and they only directed their conversation to my husband, I'm assuming because he is a man., when in reality it is usually the women who is making most of the decisions.) After the interview process was over my husband and I agreed that we hoped Jeff would come back to us with a competitive proposal. We were extremely happy when he did and hired him. This was a long distance renovation and required a great deal of communication. My husband and I have built several homes from scratch and done numerous renovations. I can say without hesitation that our experience with Jeff was the best I have ever had with any service provider. Jeff's pricing was very competitive. He actually started the job early. He was very detailed and tripled checked things with me. There we absolutely NO unexpected additional charges, in fact our final price for the renovation was almost the same as the original quoted price. Because this renovation was long distance, Jeff at times was very helpful in getting materials and accepting deliveries for me. He finished the job right on time and there were very few punch list items which he took care of immediately. He even talked me off a ledge a few times when I was challenged by problems with material purchases. We would highly recommend Jeff and will defiantly use him again. I wish I could add ten +s the A rating I am giving him.

Jeff and his team were complete professionals. Their work was completed within the specified time and on budget. Throughout the process, Jeff was completely accessible (by phone, text, and email), and went out of his way to be professional and responsive to my questions. I have nothing negative to say about Jeff, and would gladly use him in the future.

He must be good - he's booked solid through June. I don't want to wait that long.

Replaced an old and rather dilapidated service yard fence/gate. Very professional and thoughtful project assessment and completion. Excellent craftmenship - all work completed in one day.

Everything went perfect! Jeff and his crew were very professional. The work was done in a timely manner. The work area was always neat and cleaned up at the end of the day. He was very accommodating to any other request.

Jeff and his team were awesome! They did a very professional job with the painting, they also accomodated a very screwy schedule working around other contractors working at my home. Jeff was totally accomodating of every schedule change and did it with a smile. They did a great job and even did a few extra small fixes that were requested with no increase in their original estimate. He is, in my mind, the perfect contractor - one who you could fully trust to do the job right and for a fair price. A breath of fresh air in this age of contractors who are con artists - Jeff is a true professional. Highly recommended!

Professional, prompt, superior work! I would definitely use Jeff Ballard Construction again. He did some of the work himself iwith the help of his two assistants who were excellent at their craft. At the end of the work day things were cleaned and organized out of my way. When the job was completed there was minimal cleanup necessary to put things back in place.

The job was close to flawless. Jeff Ballard is a true professional who takes pride in his work and possesses a strong work ethic. His attention to detail is bar none. His work is thorough and efficent. He and his team form a well-oiled machine who work unobtrusively and with precision. They go above and beyond expectations. I am "Type A" picky, and he was often one step ahead of me or immediately responsive to my questions, concerns, or requests. Jeff does what he says on time and on budget. His estimate was the lowest of three that I obtained, so I am confident that his prices are quite fair. I give Jeff Ballard Contracting five stars ***** my highest recommendation--a first since we moved to the Lowcountry 4 years ago from Washington DC. He was on time, and if he was running late he'd call. He was very good at what he did and he didn't nit-pick about money. Sometimes he did things without charging me, and he did it very well. The painting was excellent. I can't say a negative thing about him.

Extraordinarily well - minor budget changes (due to our request to increase scope), and on time!

He was also prompt in coming out for some touch up and to put in some addtional wood trim. We used him a second time for a small bathroom leak that damaged the ceiling in our living room. He was extremely responsive, diagnosed the problem and repaired it and repainted at a very reasonable cost. We will be using him again for work later in the year.

overall it went well. Jeff was prompt in returning calls and provided updates on the work.

We could not be happier with Jeff's workmanship. He stayed in touch during the job both by phone and e-mail. And sent us pictures documenting his work at each step along the way. I am admittedly very fussy about workmanship and carefully set expectations before the job started so that we were both in agreement on what was to be done. Jeff did not disappoint....he paid attention to details, was meticulous in his workmanship and took care of our home as if it were his own.
