Representations at the time of sale incorrect, initial drawings incorrect, scheduing of template incorrect, rescheduling of template not accomplished until homeowner called subcontractor directly, initial counter-prep had to be re-done, can't reach a home depot manager on the phone, but on rare success (after holding 20 minutes)-- lots of promises but no actual resolutions. We had to take control of the process by working directly with the subcontractors to get the work completed. Subcontractors were actually pretty good (Ship Shape Services & Old Castle), but numerous problems with Home Depot. Absolutely no communication, oversight, or follow-up to deliver a coordinated schedule and install. We estimate we made 20 phone calls to Home Depot and subcontractors. Incompetent. 4 man day project took almost 2 months.

I chose to do some updates on my house this year and that inculded the masetr bathroom. After speaking with a contractor I purchased 3 vanities, 3 sinks and vanity tops from The Home Depot. They insist on full payment with the order and did tell me that it would be 4-6 weeks for delivery. The 1st problem came about when their subcontractor called to measure for the vanity tops even though the vanities had not been delivered or installed. When the vanities did arrive the quality of the product was far below what I expected and parts of the vanities were damaged. Once replacement doors were shipped and the vanities were installed the nightmare truly began. The vanity tops were cut incorrectly even though a template was provided. Once we got around to installing the undermount sinks, the installer left the mounting hardware provided by the manufacturer tossed on the floor and proceeded to install the sinks using their preferred method - 16-20 corian blocks glued together and then stuck haphazardly to the underneath of the sinks and granite. Gobs of glue all over the place included. My plumber and contractor were appalled, as was I. We notified Kohler, sent pictures and Kohler informed us that the manufacturer warranty was voided. I asked that the problem be corrected. The installer came back and added the manufacturer recommended hardware - it is not installed correctly because the mess of blocks and gobs of glue are in the way. The fasteners are not tightened and they did not clean up before leaving. They left a mess. This was in July of this year. On Thursday of this week, and following my just crying on the phone to customer service and begging for some help, 3 Home Depot and installer representatives descended on my house. They took pictures, scratched their heads and left. I provided them with the written information from Kohler stating that the sink warranty had been voided and all other information they requested. Shortly after, day, they produced an email from Kohler stating that the warrranty was not voided even though the sink was not installed according to their recommendations. I found it interesting that Kohler clearly stated in an email that the sinks were installed incorrectly and the warranty voided and then suddelnly changed their minds following a call from The Home Depot. I have asked for a refund on the sinks and installation so that they can be replaced and have gotten no response. I have asked for a certificate of insurance from The Home Depot and have yet to receive it. I have asked if I could have a copy of their contract with subcontractors in order to verify that they do or do not recommend installing product according to manufacturer warranty and they have yet to provide that. It is the end of August and I still can not fully use my bathroom. They have had full payment since 5/20/2012. At one point in the conversation, The Home Depot customer service representative did offer to send me a gift card and I have to admit, I found that rather amusing and an empty gesture at best. I asked again yesterday, if we could resolve this issue and was answered with no response. This has been a truly horrible experience.
