Description of Work: Had appointment for August 19 between 1-2. Guy never showed up and did not bother to call to cancel or reschedule. Not reliable or professional at all. Perhaps since the work was mostly outdoor (ceiling fan) did not wanted to work in 90+ heat.

 + -1 moreClif was not only professional, but was also very interesting to talk to. Good sense of humor. He arrived on time, and began in the bathroom. I had intially tried to do the work myself, but decided it was better to pay an electrician rather than risk burning my house down. He showed me what I had done incorrectly and explained why - then corrected it. None of my outside outlets were working, but after he correctly installed the GFCI outlet where I had fried the old one, all the outside circuits that must have been connected where working perfectly. We chatted for at least a half hour, and he explained that he had subtracted this time off the bill.
Description of Work: He moved one of the electrical outlets in my bathroom to a location right outside the bathroom and installed a new junction box related to this outlet. Also he replaced an outside receptacle that I shorted out when I pressure washed my house.

 + 1 moreClif and DJ are the best. They will be my permanent electrician on the island. I called Friday morning and by Friday afternoon they were there for 4 hours! They were courteous, hilarious, and very informative. I would recommend Clif and his team every time!
Description of Work: I attempted to replace the wall outlets to be uniform in color. I couldn't get 2 rooms to work. Also I needed a ceiling fan and chandlier hung. By the end of the time, Clif and DJ hung the ceiling fan and chandlier, re-hung the ceiling fans I did incorrectly. They also replaced all the light switches to match the outlets.

 + 1 moreOne thing that I really liked was that so many of my friends knew this guy and his family, they have been in business here with the same phone number since 1972. He's got a state builders license and is bonded, whatever that means. He was so nice and took his time to explain everything to me and he was very patient with my ignorance. It was very important that he and his men cleaned up real well at the end of the job. He even trimmed up some of my bushes that were hanging over my walkways. When they were finished they hauled all the trash off with them, That was very helpful.
Description of Work: I needed a lot of different things done, like pressure washing and staining outside and a deck repaired. He fixed 2 gates and some rotted wood and he hung several pictures. He had a lot of design ideas that helped the overall appearance of my house. He worked quickly and neatly and didn't surprise me with an inflated bill. I found out that there are several people using the name "handyman" in their company name, but the guy I used is the original "The Handyman" in this area and he has to fight to protect his company name from so many fakes. So when you're looking for a handyman make sure you get "The Handyman" on Hilton Head run by Duane Taylor and no body else. He did a great job for me as well as several of my friends.

 + 2 moreI have had several recurring problems with my electrical system over the last year and nobody could seem able, or willing, to help me. I started to ask family and friends for a good electrician and Clif Taylor's name kept coming up wherever I asked, so I gave him a call. I was amazed. He arrived on time, listened for my input and then provided suggestions and solutions in minutes. I was immediately put at ease by his manner and experience. I let him proceed, and I was not disappointed. He gave me a price and then delivered a great job for the exact price. Throughout the job, he and his guys kept me informed and asked questions instead of just plowing ahead. It was a very pleasant experience. He also gave me the names of a good plumber and landscaper. He is very knowledgeable about all areas of building repairs and remodeling and he had a lot of funny stories and jokes. I strongly recommend that anyone looking for repairs ask about business and trade licenses and insurance. Clif Taylor had it all. And it's also good to ask for references.
Description of Work: I had 2 problems, one inside the house and one outside. Mr. Taylor was able to trace and diagnose the problems very quickly when two other electricians gave up. At that point, I decided to have him repair the circuits as well as replace and relocate lights and outlets in the kitchen and bathroom. He was efficient, personable and very professional. He cleaned up when he was finished. His crew members were very nice and well trained. They found and repaired several mistakes done by previous workers. They replaced 6 ceiling fans, 9 hanging light fixtures, 19 switches and outlets, added 6 recessed high hat fixtures, found 4 damaged wires in the front yard (and repaired them). He also fixed 2 doors that would not latch and fixed a gate outside. In the kitchen, he was able to cut into the cabinet wood surface and install boxes for outlets. I was very nervous about an electrician doing carpentry, but he did a great job.
