Advanced Flooring Group

They had good reviews and we wanted to use a local company, so we tried multiple ways to contact Advanced Flooring Group - by message through Angie's List and by phone. We ended up calling Empire Direct. They came in on a Friday evening, quoted within our budget, scheduled the service for Monday afternoon, and then removed carpet and installed hardwood flooring for us in 2 rooms and the hall in 4 hours flat.

These two gentlemen are the best in the business. Our experience is that everything about them is hands down amazing. I wish all of our contractors were this good. They really set the bar for every one else. Every bit of work they have done in this home (cork flooring, 2' x 2' rectified tile flooring, Shower and tub surround, glass brick wall) is superb and it all makes me smile when I look at their work and think of them. It's taken me six years to decide on a back splash tile, and I am so eager for them to come and install it! It's just nice to have them around!! And when they have to leave, it's BEAUTIFUL here.

As a result, the flooring has popped up causing a tripping hazard. The most frustrating part of the whole ordeal is that I have called them 3 times and sent email but they are not responding. I have left multiple messages and asked that they at least acknowledge my complaint. So far I have heard nothing. I am so disappointed because I thought by using an Angie's List contractor, I would be pleased with the work. Update on the review: Apparently, the phone lines in the showroom were down because of renovation. As a result, they were unable to get my messages. After the contractor read the review above, I received a phone call. Someone came out and fixed the problem right away. I would give this company another chance.

There was a bump in the carpet. This provider stretched the carpet. Did a very good job. No issues so far

Terry was fantastic. Extremely knowledgable and patient with all of our questions. He completed a whole house estimate for various flooring types and phases of the project. We ultimately chose another flooring company for the project due to a specific sale they were having on the carpet we were interested in--otherwise we would have definitely hired advanced flooring group!

From start to finish the experience with Advanced Flooring Group was phenomenal. They responded to my request for a quote extremely quickly and were able to give me the quote for the work right after a walk through. I was able to make arrangements with Terry very quickly after the quote took place for them to come complete the work requested. I was not personally at my house when they came to do the installation, but my mom was. She was very complimentary of their professionalism and was extremely pleased with her interaction with them. The completed work turned out better than expected. In the basement, the tiles turned out phenomenal and they were able to achieve a flawless transition between my carpet and the tile. In the bathroom where we had talked about them re-grouting portions of the grout that were chipping out, my expectations were blown out of the water. I only expected a small portion of the grout to be re-done and then figured I would have to paint the rest of the grout to match. I came home to find all of the grout completely redone because they did not feel right leaving it looking the way it did. The standards that this company holds themselves to is impeccable. They take pride in their work and in their interactions with their customers. I would not hesitate to contact them again for other flooring needs in my home!

This company was amazing to work with. We had purchased laminate flooring for our living room. Unfortunately, once they began working they realized that the quality of the flooring we purchased was poor. They had completed at least a 1/3 of the floor when the laminate panels started to crack and break on them. They immediately informed us of the issue and we stopped the installation to purchase new product. One of the installers came back the following day to finish the installation. I would like to add that this gentleman (named Kevin) came to our house on his DAY OFF to make sure that our floors would be completed and that we would not have to live in cramped chaos until the company could schedule us again. The men who came to work on our floors were kind and professional. I can't say enough how pleased we are with the finished product and with the service we were provided. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone!

The floor sales and installation was beautiful. It was absolutely wonderful. They were extremely good. They were extremely professional and right on time. They answered the questions quickly. It was a very professional service.

I had used Advanced Flooring a year ago to do some floor refinishing and was generally satisfied with their work. Tried calling them to get an estimate for refinishing hard wood flooring in a bathroom and a hallway. After two weeks they finally called back and we set up a time to come out and see the work to be done and provide a proposal. Never showed up as scheduled and didn't never answered repeated calls to his cell phone. Thoroughly disgusted and would not recommend wasting time with them.

After reviewing multiple bids for this two-part flooring project, we are very happy we went with Terry and the Advanced Flooring Group. After exchanging messages on Angie's List, I met Terry at his showroom where we reviewed photos of my home and put together a written estimate for the job. Terry educated me a bit about hardwood and tile options, but didn't pressure me to purchase tile through him. In fact, when we found a tile we liked that was on special at a big box store, Terry happily had a crew member pick it up for me. AFG didn't have the lowest bid, but they were close, and we believe they were definitely the best overall value when quality, cost and timing are all considered. Also, when the job was done and totalled up, AFG actually came in slightly UNDER their written estimate. It was only a few dollars, but a nice surprise nonetheless! Terry personally made sure all the details of the job were up to his high standards. Stuff happens on job sites, and apparently there was an issue with the quality of work that one of the wood sanders was doing. Before I ever saw or noticed any issue, Terry substituted a seasoned veteran to redo that portion of the work, and the final result truly looks flawless. On the tile section, Terry came back a few times near the end of the job to fuss over little finishing details to make sure it was up to his high standards. I can be picky, so I very much appreciated this. I am very happy to recommend Advanced Flooring Group for high quality wood and tile floor work at a fair price!

It went extremely well. The workers were professional and any issues were resolved immediately and gladly. I plan to use them in the near future without hesitation. The owner was an excellent communicator and his response was always timely.

I am VERY pleased with the work that Advanced Flooring did in our house. The linoleum on in the entryway, kitchen and half bath was probably original to the house (we had just purchased the house) and was ugly and old. The linoleum in the sunroom was even worse. Advanced flooring removed all that and installed tile throughout the area. The area is all connected and they did a great job in making it look like it fit nicely. There were even steps down to the family room that had to be tiled and they did a great job cutting the bullnose for each step. The house now looks like a new house! The floor wasn't even level but Advanced Flooring worked to get it a bit more level and now it is more difficult to notice. The also tiled a sunroom, which really brightens up the room and makes it livable. Advanced flooring also ripped up wall-to-wall carpeting on the second floor and installed two smaller rooms of carpet and the rest hardwood. I'm so happy with the look of the place now! It no longer looks like an old 80's house! The workmanship is top notch and the details (they also installed a new baseboard due to the new level of the floor) is great. The details are really what make a job great and Advanced Flooring did a great job. They even came back a few times when things either needed to get done after the fact (a heating vent had to be modified to fit with the new baseboards) or when I needed something changed due to some other work I was having done (the floor had to be changed to fit in a new dishwasher, the corian countertop had to be cut to fit in my new stove). Advanced Flooring was not the lowest bid for me. In fact, they were the highest but very competitively priced. I chose Advanced Flooring because of the detail and how they worked with me to understand exactly what I wanted. As a project manager of multi-million dollar projects, I understand how important it is to set expectations and to have detailed conversations up front before starting a project. Advanced flooring worked with me on the details, budget and scheduling. Scheduling was very important to me for this project. I also competitively shopped the tile, carpet and wood flooring and Advanced Flooring was giving me the price that the other guys said was the "discounted contractor price" up front. That really says a lot. I think I got a great value with working with Advance Flooring. The next project I do will be with Advanced Flooring. Here is a general list of what they did for me: Removed all second floor carpet (4 rooms plus hallway) Installed second floor hardwood floors (2 rooms plus hallway) Installed second floor carpet with 8 lb pad (2 smaller rooms) Installed transitions between hallway and carpeted rooms Removed linoleum in entryway, hallway, kitchen, half bath and sunroom Installed labor board and settling mat, tile, grout and waterproofing in entryway, hallway, kitchen, half bath and sunroom Price included tile, carpet and hardwood. Baseboard was purchased separately. Removed appliances from the kitchen. I also had a painter in the house doing some work and Advanced Flooring worked well with the other contractor. There were no issues, which was great. All in all, Advanced Flooring was a great outfit!

Based on favorable Angie's List reviews, I contacted Advanced Flooring for an estimate to replace the carpet in our laundry room and rear entry with tile. Owner Terry had plans to be in the neighborhood that day and stopped by. He was so professional and genuinely personable that after his visit, my wife and I agreed we wanted him to do the work. On another day, we met him at the showroom to select materials. The showroom is only open by appointment which is a great policy because it provides an uninterrupted opportunity to make selections and discuss details. Terry was very helpful and patient. Taking some samples home made the difference when we were able to see them onsite. The tile we chose was out of stock at all distributors, so we had to wait until more could be imported. When the project was underway, Terry and his partner Nathan did the work and one of their employees Brad delivered supplies and assisted with moving appliances. They were a pleasure to have in our home and were clearly focused on doing quality work. Bottom line ? Advanced Flooring is a first class outfit and will be our sole provider going forward. You will not be disappointed if you put your trust in them.

They were fast and efficient. Starting with a bare sub-floor, installation required three workers for one day. Overall, the quality of installation was fantastic. No ugly shoe molding which I was very happy about. The only negative thing is that someone was not paying attention to the patterns in the laminate. The laminate is a light colored weathered oak with some knots in the pattern but plenty of variation. In several spots, the same printed boards were installed in a small area, sometimes right next to each other. I asked them to re-work the one end of the hall where the same knot pattern appeared twelve times which they graciously did without hesitation. In the end, I love my new floors.

Terry was very hepful with our planning and made suggestions which resulted in better choices than we had originally made. He visited the work site each day to check on the progression of subcontactors. He and Nathan were quick to address any small problems. They finished on time, and the price was exactly the same as the quote. We love the floors and would highly recommend them.

It went very well. The workers were prompt and courteous.

As always, it is a true pleasure to see him. Terry did our tile work and flooring previously when the house was built. This issue was a really small blip, but he came promptly when we called him and figured out what had happened (I don't think it was a result of his workmanship - but he fixed it anyway). It was a minor fix. We think this company and its principals are first rate, have integrity beyond great and, to boot, do really excellent work for fair prices. They are not inexpensive because top quality work requires planning and time, but it that's what your are looking for you won't be disappointed and you will be billed a fair price.

The estimate of the job was right on target and reasonable. The work was done professional. After the job was complete Terry came back to check on our satisfaction of the job. The details to the job were handled timely.

These guys were great!! My mother-in-law was coming for a long visit and was going to be staying in the finished basement. The basement had flooded before she arrived and everything had to be ripped out. My husband is quite handy and could do pretty much everything himself, but we ran out of time and couldn't finish the flooring in time. We called Terry in a panic (at least I was in a panic!), asking if he could fit us in on short notice (we're talking just a few days here!). He understood our dilemma and somehow made it work, despite having an already full schedule. Somehow, the basement was finished in time and everything looks great. Terry's team was very professional, polite and clean - definitely not your typical potty-mouth contractors. We will definitely use them again!

Terry was very professional, punctual and pleasant to work with. He and he co- worker did an excellent job in a timely manner. My husband and I were very pleased with the finished product and we will defininetly use his services in the future.

The service was very personal and the owners were very personal with ideas and options. I would definitley use them again and recommend them highly. The personal service was much better than what I was seeing from estimates and interactions with other companies we tried first and the price was better too. They honored the Angie's list discount :)

Terry was very helpful to support our process to figure out what we wanted and what would work well. The work was performed when we needed it done. It was coordinated with other work. The work quality was superior.

From the first interaction with Terry, we knew we were in good hands. He was very easy to work with and willing to do what WE wanted- this is so much different than some we've dealt with in the past. Once we decided on the flooring, he was very open to working with our schedule. His crew was on time, professional and did quality work. I am super pleased with our floors and get compliments on them all the time. I will use them in the future for some tile jobs I have in mind.

Terry from Advanced Flooring came out and looked at our living room. He took a few measurements, and provided us a quote right on the spot. While he was there, he also fixed a gap in the hardwood floors that we had for years. It turned out it was just a lose board, and he knocked it back into place. Terry tried to match the flooring as closely as possible to the existing hardwood. You can tell where the old hardwood ends, and the new hardwood begins, but as the new wood ages I am sure you wont be able to tell. The two guys that came to do the work, were very professional and polite. They worked late so that they would get the job done in the same day. We were very pleased with the work Advanced Flooring did. Very knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. I would use them again for any other flooring projects.

Terry of Advanced Flooring quickly went to look at the floor, gave an estimate, and Dan and Dan started work the next week. The floor was done in two days. It went from a natural, colorless, boring, drab floor that was in bad shape to a stunning, glowing oak floor that transformed the entire home into a much more pleasant place. The team did an amazing job of getting out pet stains. A professional painter who looked at the floor later said it was one of the best refinishing jobs he'd ever seen. A relative was supposed to refinish the floor but that fell through and I'm glad it did - highly recommend using this company.
