+ 0 moreThe solution used was too strong and ultimately killed or severely damaged mature landscaping. Admitted they were at fault. Then tried to replace with different shrubs which never took. Jimmy (owners son) assured us they would come back and replace any plantings in order to restore our property. Not only did they not do this, they do not even have the courtesy to return phone calls. So now we are left with over $1,000 worth of damage. We do NOT recommend this company. They are not reputable.

Description of Work: We are just beginning to work with this company, but are impressed that out of 8 different builders, they are one of 3 that has been actively working toward a bid! They are the only one who gave us a bid and now we see the process beginning!looking forward to working with them. Would love to leave another review when they are done. We are adding a garage, workshop and screened porch to our existing home. Also, adding concrete paving for driveway. |

+ -1 moreA room addition was added to the existing house. Concrete was poured one inch lower than the existing room making the transition uneven, I had to call this to the attention of the foreman. The problem was not corrected by Coastal Homes & Sunrooms The contract stated "level of new finished floor level to match existing house finished floor level." The foreman & workers were friendly & polite but deceiving. Poor quality work.
Description of Work: Floor was built 1" lower than contract stated, Room addition was added to existing house, the new floor was lower than the existing room making the transition from one room to the other 1" lower.

Description of Work: We decided not to have the work done but this was due to other reasons that had nothing to do with this vendor. This vendor did put an addition on our home 5 years ago and did an outstanding job. He is honest, knowledgable and professional. I would recommend him anytime.

Stick built to our specifications, with great suggestions from Wendell and each crew of experts, from the concrete guys to the framers to the painters. + 0 moreAfter the contract was signed in May the work commence in July and finished in Oct. Every day was not a work day. And approximately 4 weeks of down time was due to the manufactoring of the hurricane glass upper windows. Overall the project went well, but the clean up at the end of the day's work could havae been better.
Description of Work: Coastal Homes and Sunrooms built a sunroom onto our home. It was stick built. It measures 20’ x 24’ and replaced the covered patio. The sunroom has 21 windows of various sizes and shapes. The ceiling is cathedral with a peak of 14’. A ductless separate HVAC was incorporated with the design. Coastal Homes has a different crew (skill set) for each phase of the build process. The carpenters work directly for Coastal Homes while the other trades (skill set) are independent contractors, although all have worked with Coastal Homes for a considerable length of time with the exception of the painter, who I would not recommend. Overall we are pleased with the work. Prior to starting our sunroom project, we had four other company gives us estimates. Two gave written estimates and the other two gave verbal estimates, which is not unusually for this area. Coastal Homes was the one company we felt most comfortable with in signing a contract. One little quirk is that none of the estimates had a breakdown of cost of material to the cost of labor. But with enough conversation we were satisfied that all of our needs would be met.

+ 1 moreHis name is Wendel Barns, and he was outstanding!. He was referred to me by a friend. I left him the keys to my home, and I never even met the guy! He never touched a thing, and left the place as clean as could be. He did what he promised, on schedule. We never had any arguments, and his price was about 30% lower than the next lowest guy. A's across the board! I absolutely would use him again. I even called him later to repair the roof, but the insurance company took care of it.
Description of Work: We used Coastal Homes & Sunrooms when we added an addition in to our home in South Carolina. We removed a porch, and replaced it with a sunroom. The addition was 12x12, and I feel like I got an honest price!
