The AC unit stopped working. The office scheduled the appointment in a reasonable amount of time. The technician, Dyllan, found the capacitor was not working and he replaced it. He did not say how much it will cost and he did not say what brand of capacitor he used. It took him about 10 minutes to do it. The invoice came at $ 170 for the 10 minutes it took the technician to replace the capacitor in addition to the diagnostic fee. This type of capacitor is priced at 12-15 USD online.

They have been very good. and we would highly recommend them.

They came shortly after I called them. They always call 30 minutes prior to coming. Their price is comparable. They explain if they find anything. They give you the overall health of the system. I had just purchased the unit at that point, so they were able to tell me how old the system was, the condition and shape it was in, and whether there is anything I should be concerned about.

I am on a maintenance plan with them. They provide maintenance once every 6 months. They are always very receptive when I call them to schedule. They did have to call and reschedule, but they gave me plenty of notice to say they were not able to keep the appointment, then they rescheduled me right away. They always call when they are about 30 minutes out. They always seem very helpful.? They come in and do a check and give you a report. Everything is very clear and understandable. I really don't have a point of reference on the price because they are the only one's I have used.

Can't say enough about these guys. Truly a top rated company and 100% professional from the start. From Jake showing up exactly on time for the quote/estimate, to the people answering the phones and making appointment for the install, to the crews that came out to do the work. Going above and beyond is a understatement. Their installers Daniel and Rhett were two of the nicest workers I've come across in a long time. Friendly, very knowledgeable, and very clean. My Old unit was on a sloped yard. They took the time to level out the ground before putting down the new pad. Nothing but top notch. Prices and quotes for the work were great. I HIGHLY recommend giving them a try.

The two Trane air conditioning (heat pump) units in our home were old (one air handler was from 1992!), and needed replacement as they had become inefficient and were not cooling all areas of the home properly. I called Carolina Custom Air and made an appointment for them to come out and inspect the units. Bill came to our home and conducted a complete inspection of our air conditioning units, which was not easy as one air handler is located in our attic and the other is located in a low crawl space under the house. We found him to be thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. He spent approximately 1 1/2 hours completing the inspection of the units and explained everything to us. He provided a quote for three different Trane units the same day (we received several quotes from other companies and the prices from Carolina Custom Air were very competitive). Following the initial inspection, I had several questions. Bill promptly returned calls and emails and answered all my questions. At no point did I feel any pressure to hire his company nor did he try to "upsell" us on any products or services. After deciding to hire Carolina Custom Air, they came out to install the units four days later. Robby, Daren, and Gabe were our installers. It took approximately 1 1/2 days to install both units. At all times, the installers preformed the installation professionally and quietly. They explained many things to us about our new a/c units and gave us a detailed tutorial in using the new thermostats. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was installed properly, including cutting back some shrubbery to make room for the new outside units and installing a drainage system for the new air handler in the crawl space (they discovered that the previous installers had not run the drain outside and the water from the previous air handler was pooling in the crawl space). We have already noticed a huge improvement in the cooling of our home. My husband and I are very happy with our decision to hire Carolina Custom Air and we will be using them in the future for regular maintenance of our new a/c systems!

Fantastic. It was 100 degrees out and the upstairs unit decided to quit. After asking our neighbors for some recommendations we called Carolina Custom. I called their emergency number at about 730 PM on a Saturday night and the service tech was at the house by 930 PM. It took him about 30 minutes to correct the issue, including waiting to make sure everything was working and the upstairs had started cooling. Very polite, very quick, explained everything.

They do terrific work. They are personable and very trustworthy. I had several people give me estimates on insulation of heat pump and they were the only ones that actually sized the house to figure out the cubic feet of air that needed to me moved, and also sized the unit I purchased to the amount of air that needed to be handled.

I had 6 or 7 companies quote on a new downstairs system and discuss my options for the replacement. Patrick, the owner of Carolina Custom Air, won me over almost immediately. He was professional, knowledgeable and lacked any pretense. He answered all my questions and I really liked his common sense approach. The crew arrived as promised and worked quickly. The work is first class and I won't hesitate to call them when the upstairs unit gives out. The system is performing exceptionally well and unlike the old unit you can't even hear it running.

Patrick installed the two high-end units at our residence in 2010. Since then, his company has maintain and service the units at the appropriate time of the year. Carolina Custom Air knows what customer service is and they do their best to meet our needs. We travel for work and we are stationed overseas; therefore, they have been very flexible with their schedule so we can properly be scheduled for the service needed. The entire staff are very courteous, knowledgable and most of all make sure we understand what work they performed and what preventive work we can do to make sure the systems are running OK. I had a great experience working with Patrick, Daniel, and everyone else at Carolina Custom Air. Our house has two separate 1.5 Ton split heat pump systems (one for upstairs, one for downstairs). We had an old 1.5 Ton split heat pump unit that was ready to be replaced. I had a different company replace one of the units last year. Patrick came out to estimate the replacement of the second unit, and immediately found about 5 things that were done incorrectly when I had the first unit replaced. he actually spent abiut an hour repairing some of the problems while he was there, and didn't even charge me for the work. he explained very thoroughly what was wrong, and what needed to be done to correct the other issues. Later that afternoon, Patrick sent me quotes for repairing the remaining duct work on the first unit, and replacement the second unit. Very prompt return of the quotes. I asked Patrick a lot of questions about the quotes, and he took the time to answer them thoroughly. He explained all of the equipment options to me, and even explained why a the higher priced units that some other companies tried to sell me wouldn't work for my house. At the end of the quote process, I felt like all of my questions had been answered, and that Carolina Custom Air really knew the best system that I needed. The installation went very well. Daniel and his team showed up as planned and went straight to work. I was very impressed with the installers. I'm an engineer and admittedly obsessive/compulsive about these kinds of things. The installation was done very cleanly - I could really tell that they took pride in their work. I don't know if Carolina Customer Air is the cheapest HVAC installer out there, but their prices are certainly competitive, and their installation work is top notch. I had quotes from about 7 different companies, and Carolina Customer Air stood out as being the most knowledgeable about what I really needed. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a solid, trustworthy HVAC contractor, and I will definitely call them again for any future work that I have done.

Upstairs AC quit and was 13 years old. Had multiple quotes for AC and furnace to be replaced. Patrick came out and meaured the house and provided two recommendations based on his visit. Had several questions that I asked and Patrick answered ASAP. Never felt like I was a burden for asking, and always got a response in a timely manner. The front office was very responsive and polite when dealing with them. Once decision was made Patrick made a final visit to ease my pain and answer remaining questions I had, based on the 7-8 estimates and information/disinformation gain from web and different contractors. The install was not easy and his team performed a great job. There were a few issues that came up that were resolved and I was kept up to date at every turn. After install the paperwork was completed and provided to me in full. The product registered, rebate paperwork, etc. Getting an AC and furnace based on the web and the different contractors is a real drag. While departing with 10k was a bummer, I am satisfied I got it right by choosing Carolina Custom Air and the product Patrick recommended.

I originally spoke with them last October when I was researching a new system. I obtained estimates from two different companies. The estimate was similar from both companies, except my immediate impression was that Patrick, the president of Carolina Custom Air, was not only exceedingly polite, considerate, punctual and friendly, but extremely knowledgeable about his product and its application. Over the course of the next several months, because I was waiting for the Spring to do the work, he answered every question my husband and I had in a timely manner, every call to his cell received a prompt reply. The work commenced last week and took three days. His team of installers were also polite, knowledgeable, patiently answered all of my questions, and man, do those guys work hard, they earned my utmost respect. One young man even sang as he worked, and I can only surmise that in spite of the difficulty and nastiness inherent in this line of work, they loved their jobs and liked each other. I was extremely impressed. After they finished, John came by to give it a once-over, and attended to a couple of issues I had brought to his attention. I have complete confidence that if we have any issues they will take care of them. Such old-fashioned service with such newfangled efficiency! I highly recommend Carolina Custom Air to anyone in need of service or a new system. They do the job completely and expertly!

I referred this business to my mom after having used them ourselves this past summer. They were able to come the same day she called (on a Monday nonetheless) and would have been able to fix the problem the same day had the part been available. We will continue to refer this business to as many people as possible!

It went very well. Of note here is that this problem occurred on the third day of some of the worst winter storm to hit the Low County in many years. Carolina Custom Air and most HVAC service companies in the area have been extremely busy. I had used the company previously with noteworthy success and wished to call them again. Their office was closed when i discovered that we had a problem at about 0415 Thurs. morning and with our main heat pump adequately serving the lower levels of our house, I did not consider the problem to be an emergency. So I did not make an emergency call and only sent an email at around 0500. I received a call from Amy in the company's office around 0815 and she promptly arranged for a technician to immediately come to our home to diagnose and fix the problem.The technician arrived in approximately 10 minutes following Amy's call and promptly set about to diagnose the problem in order to repair it. By 0920 the problem(s) had been corrected and payment was tendered. Amy and Josh, the field technician, were very professional and very courteous, My heat pump is working very well and once again warming our home.

I was having problems with the air flow from my hvac gas pac, so I had a technician from another company come out to check things out. This tech said that the air flow was bad because the ductwork was all split and deteriorating. He said that the whole thing had to be replaced. Also, since the unit itself was almost 10 years old, he recommended that it be replaced also. So, after checking Angie's list, I found Carolina Custom Air. They have great reviews, so I decided to give them a call to get a second opinion. Patrick, who I later found out was the owner, came out. He crawled under the house. Now, this crawl is extremely difficult. It has 18" clearance at the most. You have to literally crawl on your stomach to get around. Patrick said that the ductwork was old but still serviceable. He pointed out that some of the ductwork was lying on the ground and would not meet code today. He offered options to solve the problem, but said that I should keep things as they were since the unit was still working! I appreciate his honesty and his professionalism. I appreciate his not taking advantage of the situation. I'm 70 years old and can't go crawling under a house any more. He said to call him if I had any questions or problems in the future. When my unit does die on me, I'm definitely calling Patrick at Carolina Custom Air!

Two people arrived on time. Explained what they were doing. Performed the work to my satisfaction.
