Reading all these reviews makes me laugh. Kent came to my home to pump my septic tank. He spent the first 30 minutes whining about the location of the tank, you know, like a little baby girl. He then proceeded to open my clogged toilet, turned to my wife (who has Crohn's disease), and exclaimed "EWW", you know, like a little baby girl. On his way out, he decided to get one last jab in on my wife who was feeling humiliated, embarrassed, scared, and frustrated, "Y'all need to quit eating all that Taco Bell." Now, I don't want to be too ho*** ** Kent; he's just a poor little baby girl who was forced into being a plumber and having to look at poopy. I truly feel bad for Kent, and I hope Mr. Rooters will allow Kent to find a new job that is more fitting for a little baby girl like Kent. He's a princess and deserves to be treated as such! Upon calling and speaking to a manager, I was informed that they would look into it and perhaps do some "retraining." I assume this retraining must consist of "Everybody Poops 101" and "How Not to Attack People with Chronic Illnesses for Beginners." However, I have the feeling that Kent "Little baby girl afraid of poopy" Clemons will not learn much, and it doesn't change the fact that I paid $1800 to have my wife heckled by a little baby girl disguised as a full-grown a** man. Find another plumber or request that they send out an adult and not a child, like Kent Clemons.

Mr Rooter called almost immediately and was at my home in less than 1 hour. Mr Rooter's technician Chris identified, cleared, and verified the blockage very quickly. After clearing the blockage, Chris set up a followup visit for the following week to pump out our septic tank and install a clean out fitting. We were very satisfied with all of the work.

Mr. Rooter recommended by neighbor. Showed up on time, could not fix water line to house, inspected septic and suggested repairs. Estimate for repairs were extremely high for amount of labor and equipment provided. Cost of repairs were more than double of what they should be. Mr. Rooter should be your last call and only in an emergency. Otherwise save yourself a bundle.

He was fantastic. I had arranged for him to come to my house and for my husband to meet him that morning. I know my husband is somewhat difficult and he was very impressed with this gentleman. In fact, he was talking to me about redoing all of our pipes with him. So, I would say he’s the best one. A pipe had broken while we were on vacation, we called him when we got back from vacation. His zip code was 29643, and I was surprised that he would come all that way and he did. The guy was great. Price was excellent, but I have nothing to compare it to though. I thought the price was excellent, I’ve had things done in businesses in plumbing, so I’m familiar with that and I thought it was very reasonable, very fair, beyond fair. Especially with the drive there too. I just hope a lot of people don’t call him in case I need him again. He was excellent, very good.
Description of Work: He did plumbing for me. A pipe broke from the meter to the house.

Been having septic tank failure and had to get it pumped twice this year and it was filling close to the top again. I called them last second and were able to have technician come next day and were able to perform work the following day after that. They even drained the septic dank while there, saving me from paying for it to be drained by another plumbing service. While working on the new drain field ($4000 for 3 bdrm house) that they were hired to install, they noticed the septic tank had been rotting (must be at least 50 years old and was made of cinderblock) and needed to be replaced. The new tank would add on another $3000. Under the ground there was a pvc pipe going from my house towards the backyard but was serving no purpose. As they dug with the tractor they damaged it and broke it open, I noticed it broken while they were working but did not care because it was not harming anything. Once I paid the invoice, I noticed they charged me $300 for repairing the pipe they broke and that I did not need or request for being fixed. Thought that should be mentioned. They did very good work in a short amount of time. I am not sure if the work was worth the price, if it is then they are great but I woke up that day expecting to spend $4000 and ended up spending $7,300 and suspect there could have been less expensive solutions if I were more knowledgeable about septic systems, but alteast I can be certain I have a septic system that is more than operational and should be fine for decades.

Fine. This was a couple of years ago and there have been no problems.
Description of Work: I had two water lines coming in to adjacent townhouse units. They capped off one line to bring all the water in through one meter, then broke through a basement wall to connect the line to the other unit on the inside. (I now have only one water account, which saves money.)

The employee came promptly. He immediately started to locate the septic tank (and I didn't know where it was located). He expertly found the septic tank very quickly. He was able to clear out the blockage and roots quickly and efficiently. He then quoted me a very reasonable price for his work. I would definitely recommend him.

A significant leak popped up. When we came into the house it looked pretty flooded, upstairs and in the basement. It was a weekend. They came out on that weekend. As a matter of fact, it was within 45 minutes or so, because we told them the mess we had there. They were just great, they got right out there and took care of it. It was less than $200. I was surprised that it wasn't a lot more than that, being an emergency situation. They didn't try to take advantage of the fact that it was such an emergency for us and that they came out even on a weekend. They didn't overcharge us, we were happy with it.

Well, I didn't get to the service because the service person could not arrive in the allocated time window. I had used this service once before and ran into the exact same problem. But I was very happy with the quality of the parts used and the technical execution of the job so I I thought I would try them again. The folks on the phone are nice too! But, if you are going to schedule work and make appointments, then I expect someone to arrive in the scheduled time slot. We have stayed home (twice) all day and no-shows are just unacceptable. I received a call saying that "they haven't forgotten about us" and service will arrive a little late but no one ever arrived. I clearly understand that the service person may run into unexpected issues on a previous job. But time windows should not be scheduled if they are understaffed to execute the work. A better system would be to arrange for a call when they are 2 hours out and are certain of the arrival time.

Having a lake house in a rather rural area has it's pros and cons. One of the disadvantages is that it can be hard to find reliable professional services (like plumbing, building, electrical, etc.). Mr. Rooter is an exception. Each time I called them, they responded quickly and appropriately, sending highly qualified professionals to the house. One of the times was on a weekend and their answering service quickly connected me to the plumber on call. The third time I called them was to address a symptom created by the second fix -- and Will Holcombe was a total pro in both diagnosing, fixing and taking responsibility for the problem. Not every plumbing fix is perfect (lots of variables and things even the best plumbers cannot see in the walls, etc.) and he was extremely reasonable and honest about a flaw in a gasket that he had previously installed (which created a new leak). Will found the problem, created a new solution using calk in place of the gasket and the toilet no longer leaks. I was really impressed by Will's approach, abilities and general professionalism. He worked quickly and confidently, making sure to solve the problem while being very tidy and careful to avoid mess in a newly remodeled bathroom. I understand that Will is moving away and will no longer be working with Mr. Rooter in Anderson, SC. I know he'll be an asset at the next company he joins and wish him the best of luck. Will (and Mr. Rooter), thanks again for the help, the good work and, importantly, for being nice people.
Description of Work: I've now use Mr. Rooter from Anderson three times... the first time they fixed a leaking water main valve that was flooding the front of the house. Two plumbers arrived (very promptly), diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it (using parts and tools on their truck). The second time I called Mr. Rooter was to address a septic smell in one of the bathrooms -- seeming to be coming from the shower drain. Will Holcombe, the plumber that arrived, after reviewing a few options that might cause the oder, also quickly diagnosed the problem. He removed the toilet and recognized that the 'flange' was too low and not flush with the newly installed tile floor. He added a flange and the smell seemed to go away. The third time I called Mr. Rooter was because of a leak coming from that same toilet. Will, who happened to be on call, arrived within an hour and, once again, solved the problem.
