C&B Roofing

Having worked for 30 plus years in the nuclear industry which demands quality and perfection, I am very demanding of the contractors I hire. C&B Roofing met my expectations and in many cases exceeded them. First was meeting with Charles who went through the roofing process step by step and explained the workmanship guarantee. The estimate he provided was simple and easy to understand and he provide timely answers to my questions. Second the roofing crew showed up on time, worked long hours, and did excellent work. It was obvious they were knowledgeable of what they were doing and did quality work. Upon completion they did a thorough job of cleaning up. Overall I would rate C&B Roofing excellent in all categories. Cost – the price was competitive and reasonable; Guarantee – the workmanship guarantee was excellent, the best of six estimates; Workmanship – excellent, the installers were knowledgeable and work was quality; Customer Service – excellent, everyone I dealt with from Charles, Jeanna in the Office, Mike the foreman, and the crew, all were dedicated to making sure I was satisfied. Charles even went out of his way to remove the debris dumpster from my driveway the day before Thanksgiving so it would not be there over the weekend. I highly recommend C&B Roofing.

I set up the appointment for them to come out for an estimate to replace all the roof vent boots although only one leaked. Other boot failures couldn't be far behind. Charles (the owner) came out when they said he would, assessed the work and gave me a quote and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I had a written quote emailed to me within minutes and authorized the work. I got scheduled fairly quick via the project manager, and the work was done exactly as described it would be and they cleaned up the area and took the removed pieces with them. A bit surprised to find I didn't have to pay the crew immediately upon completion until I got an invoice, as I had a check ready. But the invoice came in an email and it showed I got exactly what I was paying for at the agreed upon price. No hidden costs. Very pleased with the quality and would hire them again. The big plus is that I didn't have to risk falling off the roof doing it myself. I'm getting too old for this stuff.

Even though I did not utilize C&B Roofing for the repair, I have to applaud the company for being responsive, especially after a storm. They arrived about 11: 45 AM the next morning, less than 24 hours after my call. They gave me a fair estimate.

I was looking for a small, local, owner-operated company to replace my old roof with architectural shingles and, of course, new ridge vents. I also wanted an old unused chimney brought down below the roof line and covered over and needed flashing around one functional chimney. I received three good quotes from such companies, all of which were close in price. These guys were actually the highest quote but they were the ones I had the best feeling about. As they did the roof, their employees were friendly and polite. The owner, Charles, was easy to talk to and addressed all of the questions and concerns I had. The roof ended up taking a little longer to install than anticipated but they did everything they said they would do and cleaned up pretty well. The price ended up being exactly what they said it would be as well.

Charles from C & B came out, examined the roof, took measurements and then gave me the estimate. He included the full detail of the work that would be done, including removing old shingles and felt, replacing any rotted sheathing (1st two 4x8's included in price, $40 add'l for each thereafter. we needed 3 total.) new felt, new shingles, new vents and boots for penetrations. He explained in detail how the work would proceed and how cleanup would be handled. The result was excellent. Workers arrived first thing in the morning, went straight to work. By days' end, the work was complete, and cleanup was thorough. This included a 5 year warranty on workmanship. In addition, because of damage due to roof installation of satellite dish, the dish had to be removed. Charles took pictures of the damages so that I could make a claim against satellite company. He also asked that if they re-installed the satellite on the roof, call him, he would come back out and make sure the install did not cause further problems...no charge for this. As it happens, the satellite installer did not put the satellite back on the roof, but in an inconspicuous location on a pole next to the house. The price was not the lowest but the thorough nature of the estimate convinced me that this was the right contractor. I was not disappointed and would highly recommend them for your roofing needs. You can pay less and you'll get what you pay for, or you can pay more, but you wont get better quality than this.

Since I provided the shingles I never expected it to cost me what it did. I was pleased that when I called on a Saturday afternoon that he had men in the area and they showed up in about 45 minutes and did the job. His roofer told me I had hail or ice damage on my roof in the back. I called my insurance agent and he came out and looked all over my roof and said there is no such damage. When I called the boss back to see if I could get a break on the price since they used my shingles he told me if they had to use theirs then I would have to pay for the entire package of shingles and it would have cost me lots more. If I had known all this I would have called someone else.

Cleaning went well. They were prompt and very professional. They noticed further damage and offered to fix for a fee. I will contact them later.

I knew my house needed a new roof, I started my search in July 2013 and had 5 different companies come by the house. I told them all I was shopping and I was looking to get the most bang for my buck. I wanted quality at a good price. It started when C and B roofing came out to look at my roof. They were very through, taking his time, unlike others, that I figured, since I was shopping and wanted the best price, that they were not going to win the contract anyway and no need to spend a lot of time. I do not know that for sure but one guy was finished in 10 minutes and did not mention the needed repair. When C and B finished, they showed me photos they took to show me the problems I had. It definitely help us understand what we needed . I called C&B roofing in September and we scheduled the roof to be replaced. C&B Roofing was not the lowest bid, but I did get a better grade shingle and the way they attended to the details and fixing some problems, my new roof will last longer . I got the most bang for my buck! They came out 2 days later on a Wednesday, one group started in the yard protecting my bushes. while the others went on the roof and did what they do, there was a repair that had to be done. When they all started in on the roof, they went to town. All working like a well organized team, it was fun to watch. (us old retired people do that sometimes) They finished the job the next day which included cleaning up all the trash and left me with a great looking roof. We changed the color of our shingles from brown to Slate Gray.. We feel like we have a new house !

It went great. They showed up on time did the job in the time they specified. They cleaned up and made sure they picked up debris and swept the area for nails. Could not have asked for better service.

Very hard working crew. You could tell they take pride in their work. The temperature was in the 100's yet the guys finished in one day and cleaned up great! We would hire them again!

Charles was very helpful in working with the insurance Company to make sure the roof would be covered. He put a new roof and roof vent on our home.
