Services we don't offer
I do not work in a client's home or office when he/she is not present, as I believe it is important to teach you skills to keep yourself organized and moving forward. While I can help a client prepare for an upcoming move or settle into a new space, I do not participate in the actual move of items from one location to another. PLEASE NOTE: Although I hold a Masters in Social Work, the services I provide as a professional organizer are not covered by insurance.
Leslie was professional and anticipated my needs. She went above and beyond in the tasks she was asked to perform. Without hesitation I would use her again and recommend her to anyone looking for an organizer.
Description of Work: When I had my first baby, Leslie helped me set up and organize her closet. Drawing upon her experience, she made useful recommendations about how to structure the space to utilize it most effectively. Leslie came with a checklist of items that we'd need to store, which was extremely helpful as a first time mom (this also came in handy when registering for baby items!). After such a positive experience, I had Leslie organize my closet, which was a tricky space. She immediately saw how I could use the space better, a solution that had not occurred to me in the two plus years of living there. She also made recommendations about how to fold clothes, hang bags, store out of season clothes and display shoes. Because of Leslie's expertise, knowledge and responsiveness, both of these spaces are maintainable and adaptable so they continue to meet our needs.

It was wonderful. This service was a birthday gift to my wife (brave of me me, eh?). We had never used an organizer before and were not sure how it would go. Leslie was so personable and matter-of-fact. It was clear she had seen it all before and she had a simple and/or clever solution for every issue we had. Very quickly the dynamic between Leslie and my wife was of two friends having fun taking on this challenge. We all really enjoyed it and the transformation was incredible. I would share before and after pictures, but I'm too ashamed of the before pictures...
Description of Work: Leslie helped organize our mudroom, kitchen, linen closet, master bedroom closet and one disastrous child's closet.

After several interstate moves in the past 5 years, I had acquired a lot of boxes that moved from house to house but never really got unpacked. By the time I got to Rhode Island they were taking up space in the spare bedroom, dining room, and the useable space in the apartment was much less than the square footage. Living on the third floor of a walk-up and having back problems, the clutter was not going away. Along with the physical space, it took a lot of thought to try to remember whether I had something, where it was, and usually not being able to find it. I chose Nicely Done because of rave reviews. We planned 3 4-hour sessions. The first one was dedicated to getting rid of the bulk of the clutter. We sorted out what could be donated or recycled vs what just needed to be thrown away, but at the end of the afternoon she drove away with a carload of stuff and my apartment was that much emptier. Less clutter = less stress, 1st goal accomplished. The second session was about setting up an organization system. Leslie took the time to figure out how I think and what seems logical to me, and we came up with a system that made sense to me. This didn't just include what I used every day -- closets were unpacked and reorganized -- camping gear with camping gear, gloves with hats, snowshoes with skis, etc. She did the same for the bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen, the computer desk. By the end of the session things were in their place and those places made sense. The final session was a couple weeks later. She returned with storage bins and labels and other hardware so that things in cabinets stayed in groups -- aspirin and ibuprofen, heat pads and muscle rub -- and similarly with refrigerator shelves and drawers. Things we'd set up earlier were fine tuned if they worked or revised if they didn't. With the apartment in order, it felt like a weight was lifted off of me, and I hadn't realized how much of my mind was spent on thinking about where things were or weren't. Leslie was friendly and easy to work with. She kept things light and could sense before I could when I was running out of energy. Everything was working with me -- she didn't force me to get rid of anything I wasn't ready to let go of, and didn't impose a system that didn't make sense to me. Basically, she lived up to every one of those rave reviews, and I'm happy to provide another!
Description of Work: -- remove, recycle, and donate items I no longer needed -- set up an organization system that worked around the way I think and organize -- purchased storage bins, labels, and other items as needed -- follow up on how the system was working after a few weeks and a few months -- offer "refresher" sessions if needed

Leslie helps me work at my own pace, I have a chronic pain condition that prevents me from doing many things myself and limits my time I can work. She worked me into her schedule easily. We have decluttered and organized my bedroom, den, office, kitchen and daddy's room. The systems she puts in place are evaluated by the homeowner and discussed the next visit and any tweaks that are necessary are worked out. I honestly don't know what kind of shape my house would be in if not for Leslie's help. Since I just had a bathroom remodeled and the kitchen repainted my systems got slack. So it's time for Leslie to come and help me straighten it all out with me. That is such a strong point with Leslie, she works WITH you, she doesn't tell you what to do She finds ways that are helpful for you. I would recommend her services to anyone who has an organizational dilemma. She has made my life easier with the systems she helped me put in place.
Description of Work: Leslie helped me reorganize my kitchen clearing away months worth of cluttered mail and miscellaneous stuff. I am the third generation to live in my home, so you know there is a lot to sort through and make decisions about. Leslie made it so easy. She is calm and considerate of your feelings about certain items. With Leslies's help I have been able to root out my closet to make it functional, I can find my clothes in a snap. I have organized my office and have a filing system that works for me. That is one of Leslie's strong points she works with YOUR strengths and weaknesses and finds a solution that works for you! One of the more difficult tasks I had was cleaning out my daddy's room after he passed. Leslie was able to make it easier by not forcing issues and things I couldn't decide on. She also has some great contacts! I was able to donate taxidermy birds to Roger Williams Park Museum. They were a "gift" from my late aunt and we didn't want them around the house, That she removes all of the things that are to be donated and makes a list with donation values helps tremendously.

Leslie is wonderful. She works with you at whatever level you're at, with kindness and compassion. She knows when to push you and when to ease up. She has a great sense of humor, is non-judgmental and knows how to best manage the time when she's with you. She has great ideas for organizing and time management and has been a godsend to someone who had way too much clutter in her life.
Description of Work: Has been helping me clean out, streamline and organize my home, my belongings and my life.
