 + -1 moreNick showed up on time and we had a detailed discussion about my driveway and why it was so cracked. He took measurements and, after all that, said that he thought asphalt would probably work better on my driveway. Basically, he talked himself out of a job. Now, that's honesty! He recommended a colleague and I can only hope he's as good!
Description of Work: I wanted my cracked concrete driveway repaired/replaced.

 + -1 moreBecause of a scheduling glitch, Nick called to tell us the concrete suppliers would be closed for the long weekend. He bumped up our job to 7/1 - and from the moment he arrived on our job site, he went right to work. Being sure all the forms were ready, setting a center stake to be sure our slab would be level. Meeting the concrete driver at the road and leading him up the property so our lawn and trees wouldn't get damaged. Then Nick showed how his many years of experience would provide us with a top notch finished project. He poured and finished a 16'x20' concrete slab with 20 sonotubes and a mono fill pouring 5 hours. It is amazing to watch how skilled he is. The finished slab looks like a sheet of grey glass, just beautiful. He is skilled, professional and just a great person to work with. I would hire him back for any of my concrete jobs. I also would recommend him to anyone looking to have concrete work done.
Description of Work: We contacted Nick at A-1 concrete to pour a slab for a 16'x20' shed. It was originally scheduled for 7/2, however Nick called to say the concrete suppliers were taking a 3 days weekend. He scheduled us for 7/1 and arrived before scheduled time to be sure everything was ready and set to go. Concrete truck showed up, and Nick showed how his many years of experience could provide a top notch project. Professional, fast, courteous - the job is perfect. My husband and I can't be more pleased with his service.

 + 0 moreoutcome is superb. My neighbors have commented on the nice job. I would recommend Nick to anyone wanting a top notch job.
Description of Work: We finally broke down and decided to replace an old asphalt driveway. Got 2 quotes for asphalt and 2 for concrete. We thought the concrete quote would be way above asphalt but were quite surprised the difference was only $150. Nick came out the day after I called him and we discussed the work we wanted done. He was not a suit and tie salesman trying to sell us a bill of goods that we did not want. He was (and continued to be) honest and to the point. He called the next day (Mother's day) with the price and we gave him the job. He started the excavation of the old on Thursday, came back on Friday to level and set the forms and returned on Monday to pour. The forms were stripped Tuesday and the outcome was better than expected. Nick is an artist with his tools and the

Description of Work: We had a small cement job to do. The gentleman did come out to the house, discussed options and quirks of the work and called back with a price. But when I tried to confirm and give him the go ahead several times via phone and email, I did not receive response.

 + 0 moreI am thrilled with the work that Nick from A-One Cement did for me! I had a driveway, walkway, and sidewalk totally redone, and from start to finish Nick was a pro. He was very accommodating with my scheduling needs, and when everything was done several of my neighbors commented about how great it looked and how watching Nick work was like watching an artist work. He truly cares about the quality of the job and takes pride in doing it right. I recommend him highly.
Description of Work: Installed a new cement driveway, walkway, and sidewalk. Removed and disposed of the old concrete.
