Guaranteed Rooter

Be warned. A few weeks ago we were recommended this "company" through another plumber's name from the summit list--I forget whose name it was. We had a blocked kitchen sink. At first the plumber, Jake, couldn't manage to unblock it and eventually went down to our basement to snake it from the downstairs sink. He apparently broke through one of our pipes, releasing black sludge into the basement. He managed to jimmy a fix for the pipe, as well as for the U-joint beneath the basement sink, which he also managed to break. I paid $250. The next day I noticed a smell coming from the basement and discovered a thick layer of sludge beneath a basement fridge and our washer/dryer. They hadn't cleaned up. When I called to complain about this, his first answer was "Well, we're a rooter service, not a cleanup crew...so we do the best we can but we're not set up for that." They're not set up to clean even if THEY made the mess? Fast-forward to today: I go to fetch our wet/dry vac to do some work and discover to my horror that it is half full of black sludge. They had used our wet/dry vac--without asking us--threw out the filter, which they clogged up, then didn't even bother to tell us that they had used it before they left, leaving it to sit with this disgusting filth inside it for a month. I called today and told them in no uncertain terms that this was the last straw and that I expected half of the $250 back for their half-assed work and for the trouble they caused us. The rep's first response was to accuse me of trying to "exploit" the situation. Good grief. Avoid these clowns and please spread the word; poor business ethics and dishonesty should not be rewarded.

It was a great experience. We had the same person, Tony, each time. He was polite, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Felt it well worth the price for the hands on service.

THE YOUNG MAN WHO RESPONDED WAS VERY PROMPT AND POLITE. HE SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND FOUND THE COVER TO THE TRAP QUICKLY. IT WAS OUTDOORS IN MY FRONT YARD.

He was a young and very nice fellow. He cleaned out the drains by using a rooter type of thing. He was very pleasant. I liked him he was very nice and I would call him again.

They were recommended to me by another provider. They were great. I called them up, and they were here in an hour. They came in and did a fine job of cleaning the blockage. Even though there was no power yesterday, they sent a truck over with a generator on it. They were very thorough. They not only cleared the blockage in my underground pipe, but also flushed all the toilets and ran sinks to make sure they were all coming through okay. They were very professional. I have had people here doing this kind of work before who were basically satisfied if they managed to get their thing through. These guys, meanwhile, checked the drainage from inside my house out to the septic system. Two guys showed up here and did a great job. I would recommend these people to anybody. I was shocked when they showed up an hour after I called them. After one guy showed up, a second truck showed up within 20 minutes. The second truck had the generator on it.

An excellent experience, despite setbacks and small equipment glitches along the way. Norm was the service man who showed up 15 minutes early to begin work on the line. Problems in getting the camera head around a tight T in the line required removing (and in the process cutting and breaking the join of) a PVC pipe to gain access. With the pipe removed, the camera went far enough to encounter backed up water. After a snake then cleared the sludge, the camera went through to find the trap successfully. The city replaced the trap cover. The secondary line from the washing machine also backed up with sludge was also cleared after persistent effort. Norm returned after hours later in the evening to repair and replace the section of pipe that had to be removed. He was agreeable throughout, despite problems with the equipment and difficult conditions. A better experience and happier result than I had expected.
