Legacy Construction Services

We purchased brand-new appliances for the renovation of our kitchen. When we saw the dishwasher after Legacy had installed it, we noticed the door had a dent in it and informed Legacy about it. Legacy claims that the door was dented as-delivered and that they had told us that prior to installation. Legacy in fact never informed us of this prior to installation, as we would have certainly told them not to install it. They either installed it without informing us or damaged the door themselves during installation. In either case, they have been untruthful with us and have refused to reimburse us for the cost of repair to the door (more than $400). There were numerous issues with the plumbing work and we had to argue with Legacy to get them to change their plumbing subcontractor. There is still an unresolved issue they have not addressed after multiple requests. Legacy also installed a brand-new vanity. In spite of providing Legacy blue-prints, they installed the vanity in the wrong place. In order to move the vanity to the correct position, Legacy caused damage to the vanity and used a plywood patch on the inside of the vanity to cover up the damage, marring both the vanity's appearance and its usefulness to store items. Legacy also performed electrical work without a permit. When we questioned this, they told us that the city let them do the work without a permit! Only after we advised them we were going to report the matter to the contractors registration board did they obtain a permit. They also did not box in or put an escutcheon plate around a steam pipe before sending their tile man to install tile in our bathroom. The photo shows how they left our bathroom tile.
