B&K Electric

It's hard to find words to describe this company other than predatory or extortionists. I was getting an inground pool put in and requested an estimate for the electrical. I did need it on a relatively tight timeline. Specifically, I needed bonding and grounding for the pool, wiring of 1 light, 120v auxiliary outlets by the pool, pool heater, pool pump, and salt water system. I suggested putting an outdoor sub panel in by all the equipment (immediately next to the house with an easy run to the main panel in an unfinished basement) to simplify the job. The trenches were all already dug by the pool company so there was no digging involved. For the job, they wanted nearly $16,000. I honestly thought it was a typo at first and that they maybe put an extra 1 at the beginning by accident. This quote made no sense. I called to check in and they confirmed that indeed, the cost was nearly $16,000. I ended up doing the job myself for under $1,500 in materials and about 2 days work. I have absolutely no idea where they came up with that number. When the electrical inspector came out to check my work he almost threw up when I told him what was quoted. Disgusting. I've attached a screenshot of the actual quote (non-itemized because I guess it's easier to rip people off that way). Steer far away from this company. VERY far.

Very professional about answering the phone, keeping appointment, and doing the work neatly and efficiently. They are a bit pricy, however. I agreed to the estimated price in order to get everything done the same day, thinking it must be more difficult than I had figured. Turned out not to be complicated and it took just under two hours for 2 technicians to complete both the estimate and the job.

Job is incomplete. The electrician is not responsive. We have called and left a few messages.

Excellent. These two men were responsive and knew exactly what to look for and what to do. I would definitely call them again if needed, and they're in my speed dial.

Fabulous. Got an appointment quickly, they showed up on time and did the estimate AND work that day. Professional, courteous. Having them back next week for a few other things I need done. I have my go to electrician!

B&K replaced my electric panel and updated the wiring. They were reliable and communication was excellent. I will definitely be calling B&K Electric again.

I did not hire B&K, but Mike came out and give me a VERY fair quote and was very good to talk to. Ultimately I went with someone I had received a recommendation from a relative on; but if I had not I would have easily hired Mike.

We had a scheduling misstep in the beginning, but that was corrected and the next appointment was met right on time and the work performed quickly and efficiently.

They were prompt, worked efficiently, and cleaned up afterwards. They had me test all the outlets and lighting and explained all their work in detail. I now have new electricians. A+. Thanks Mike for your crew - Randy, Peter and Chris!

It went very well. They arrived promptly, assessed what needed to be done, listened to my input for what I wanted/didn't want and did the work efficiently. They also cleaned up afterwards which I appreciated.

He gets the job done that I ask, he was very efficient and he was not very expensive.

The technician arrived early Saturday morning. He was polite and professional. He replaced an existing ceiling fan in about a hour. I have plans to replace two more in the future and will hire them again.

It went well. I had some concerns which he said was not a problem. He answered my questions. However he..did not send me a detailed report which he said he would do. I would like to have that.

The technician arrived on time. He was very polite. He is a knowledgeable and skillful person. He replaced garage light bulb, and replaced two electrical outlets. We worked together to get the electric box labeled, but he made too many trips back to his truck to get tools and accessories which let me feel he was not efficient. If I have electrical work in the future, I will still consider to hire them.

They were very professional. They did a very good job and I am happy with the price.

Mike and his crew were extremely responsive to my every wish, and the job was done with minimal interruption to my electric service. The resulting equipment was really nice, and seemed to be a great value. I can be a bit demanding, and I get the impression that Mike and his company are anxious to see that I am satisfied, and they will stand behind their work. I have read the few recent less-than-great reviews his company received (which are not reflective if the majority of the reviews). I feel that they do not fairly portray either his work or his attitude. Mike and his company do fine work, and they want to make you happy.

|Showed up at 10am, shook hands and agreed on price of $1200. Said could be done now, take all day. I went x-mas shopping, left check on door in case I wasn't back by 3. They called at 2:30 stating work done. Told them check on door. Got home at 3pm but no receipt or itemized bill of work done. Waited 2 weeks, nothing in mail. Called and left message. Waited 2 weeks, nothing. Called and got someone that said the bill was $250 more and that the guy I shook hands with on price should not have done that. He said he would talk to his brother-in-law and send me itemized work done to my email...month later...nothing. I needed it for taxes. I missed out on tax deduction. (a loss of $400)
