Horrible. I had an appointment set up today. They did not show up and they did not call me with a notification that they would not be able to hold the meeting. The lady Susan on the phone had no clue what she was doing. She said she just answers the phone.

They had to keep coming back because there was very little that went right. The materials were fine. The guy that came out to give me the estimate was fine all the way through it. He assessed it, wrote out what had to be done and decided that they would take out the existing fence up by the house because what they were putting in was a different material and they didn't want it look like a checker board so that was a good suggestion of his. So they took out our panels and used them in the back where the other panels were damaged and fallen down and replaced the entire front. They did that however, they were supposed to use both panels and whatever good panels were in the existing fence to fix the fence that was down and they ended up with two sections. When the first couple of guys came, they finished and left, one section they put up was a bad section that was just absolutely destroyed and I don't know why they used it and they put the existing pole that had broken, back up with the bad piece of fence. In order to help it stand up, they screwed it with a piece of wood to my neighbor's fence. They replaced five or six poles and this was in a spot that was designated to get a new pole but for some reason, they didn't bring a new pole, used the old rotted one, and screwed it to my neighbor's fence. With another one that was in the middle of the fence in the backyard, they were supposed to take out the existing poles but they said that our poles were cemented in which they didn't really verify that all our poles were cemented in. They saw a couple of them that were and assumed the rest of it were cemented as well. So instead of taking a pole out, which kind of would be too much work, they put one end of the panel into a pole and pounded the other end of the panel until it went into the other pole and actually broke the cross member on the panel and left it broken standing in the backyard. This was supposed to be a repair and they broke a fence, which was ridiculous. I saw it and I called back. Also, we had two gates, one gate on one side had a latch on it, they took away all the trash and took away a part of my gate latch that the bolt goes into, when they took the trash away so I had no way to lock my latch. They actually had to come back and put another latch on, which is into the same one we had, it is a standard ring latch, and now there is no security back there. I have to put another latch on my gate to make it secure because anyone can turn the handle and walk into my backyard. Keith, the guy that does the assessment, he comes back, looks at it and I show him all the stuff and he couldn't believe they did this. He is the one that told them to put a new latch on the gate. The guys had to have taken away good panels that we had in our backyard because they put up a bad panel in the back so they must have taken the good one. I think they didn't bother to bring a good panel all the way to the back of the yard and just stood up the bad one that was there, when they had good panels. The replaced the one that they broke and the bad one that obviously they didn't use but he asked me if I would mind, if they used the B-stock, not good cedar because they have been already losing money on this job. They took away those panels, so why would I settle for the B-stock but I agreed to that because I am going to paint the fence anyway. They came back and replaced those two bad panels with B-stock. The thing about this whole deal that was strange to me was that, if they didn't want to do the job, they should have refused it but if they agreed to do it, they should have done it right. It was an insurance job so it was guaranteed that they will get paid, the money was already there, so if they had any issue with the payment, they should have put that in the estimate. Anyhow, it was all done, then we got another storm, we got some wind and rain and when I looked outside, two of the brand new poles that they put were leaning, it fell down. They had to come back again and pack those poles and make them straight. At this point, I don't want them in my yard anymore. I walked out there and one kid was holding the pole up and one kid was packing the pole in, he packs it on the ground, he looks at me and says, and ldquo;there, happy?and rdquo; I almost punched him in the face and I am not a violent person. They had to come back three times because they did shoddy work and I was thinking to look at me and say that was something. I was like, and ldquo;Okay; get out of my yardand rdquo;. I just couldn't believe it.

I liked doing business with Keith from the start. He was friendly, informative, and punctual. Every step of the way, from the beginning of the estimate to the completion of the job, he suggested ways that I could save money without sacrificing quality. I am very happy with the result. My one suggestion for improvement would be better communication when they were ready to begin the job. As the estimated start date approached, I felt that I had to initiate the communication to find out when they would be ready. But they showed up on the promised day, finished quickly, and left everything in good condition.
Description of Work: All of the posts on the wood fence surrounding the back yard were rotting and needed replacement. Replaced all posts on existing wood fence, keeping the old panels. Some panels which were deteriorating at the bottom were reinforced where the deterioration had occurred.

Keith (the owner) came within a few days of my calling him in mid-June, to look at the situation and hear what I wanted done. I received the quote by mail a day or two later. It seemed reasonable to us: $660. Two things about what I wanted were a little unusual: !) I wanted to have something like 1and quot; or 1 and 1/2-inch mesh (green-vinyl-coated), a size similar to what had been used before, rather than the normal 2and quot; mesh. 2) I wanted to have our 2 bent posts (and nearby railing) straightened. Keith said that he thought that he could find the small-mesh green-vinyl-coated fabric, but that it would cost a little more than the 2and quot;- mesh fabric, because more metal and vinyl are required for each square-foot of the small-mesh than the large-mesh. I was overjoyed to hear him say that he could straighten the bent posts! I had tried, for perhaps 20 years, to find someone willing and able to staighten the cast-aluminum posts of our Anchor Fence. ( The company has been out of business at least that long, so that no new posts are available. However, I love the non-deteriorating posts and rails of the Anchor Fence, and did not want to replace then (or those on our side and back fences.) It did take Keith a while to find some place to buy the small quantity of small-mesh green-vinyl-coated chain-link fabric that I wanted. But, on Aug. 29, the day after a hurricane gave us a glancing blow, two of his men came by to do the work for us. Keith had obtained 1-1/2and quot; mesh! ! Also, we were given the choice of green-vinyl-coated ties, matching the mesh, or aluminum ties, matching the railing and posts. I chose the aluminum ties. By about lunch time, the men had replaced our rusty mesh, including that on the driveway gates, and had perfectly straisightened the fence! It looked beautiful! The old, rusty mesh, the old, clipped ties, AND tall grass and weeds that the men had pulled from the fence-line were hauled away.
Description of Work: Femce Depot replaced the 39-year-old green-vinyl-coated chain-link mesh fabric on the front side (87 feet) of our property and straightened two bent fence posts and the top rail on each side of each post. (Our mesh had become rusty in many areas due to the use of a string-trimmer for a few years early on, to salt-air over the years, and to the natural break-down of non-UV-protected vinyl over the years. One fence post (a gate post) had been bent years ago when my husband hit was backing a boat and boat-trailer out of the driveway. The second post was bent by a long-ago paper-boy's jumping over the fence repeatedly there and, later, by the installation od a storm drain right in front of ithat post)

Description of Work: The good side is they came out quickly and were good about putting in the fence when they said they would. They had to work around and invisible fence for our dog and prize-winniing rose bushes and they did a good job doing this. The bad part: The fence of cedar was primed and painted ( I paid extra up front). It arrived so rough, and was not sanded before painting. The nail holes were not filled in with wood putty. Now I am faced with doing this work and painting the fence. I was not happy with the quality of the fence (Imperfections, gauges out of the wood) or the preparation of it. I was told they made an exception in my case in that they never paint a fence. Never did I hear that! Up front we discussed the necessity of painting and i paid for it. Unfortunately we got into quite an argument and they had no problem yelling at me. He said I should have said I wanted a finished fence: sanded, nail holes filled and painted so that I have nothing to do. I thought I made that very clear but he said no fence company provides a smooth, finished fence. The result was he gave me back the $250 I paid for the painting. That was a fair refund.

They were great. They came the first day and they didn't get too much done because it was kind of a tough job. The second day they brought in as many people as they could and they really did a good job getting it all done in one day. We appreciated that because it was just before the 4th of July and it was nice to have it done in time for that. They did a good job and they were the cheapest price that we got. We really enjoy the fence.

Having no experience with fence builders, I picked "Fence Depot" out of the phone book and visited their facility. Mark Gorman the owner gave me the "cook's tour" of their operation. I was impressed that each fence section is custom built using individually selected grade #1 cedar pickets. Mark came to my house and after confirming exactly what I wanted mailed a detailed report with the price and what materials would be used. The crew arrived on time and reconfirmed the details before starting. Day one.: Dug holes, installed steel posts in cement. Day 2: Installed cedar fence. Day 3: Installed PVC and cleaned up. The guys were very professional and wasted no time. The materials were top quality. During the process, a bee's nest was disturbed with dire consequences for one of the guys, but he soldiered on after getting his revenge with some hornet spray. I had two other estimates and Fence Depot was right in the ballpark, but Fence Depot's materials and service were of a higher quality.
Description of Work: I had an existing 6 foot stockade privacy fence replaced. Three sides were No.1 cedar and the remaining side was white PVC. One side was expanded out an additional 8 feet. Total fencing was 240 feet.
