Description of Work: Repaired stove that stopped working. This is not the first time I have used him. Tim Redmond was very technically capable and trustworthy. Highly recommended!

Description of Work: After we had bought a used stacked washer/dryer unit to put into one unit of our two-family rental house, the tenant told us that neither half of the unit would work unless the other half of the unit was turned on also, that is, the washer would not work unless the dryer was also turned on, and vice versa. This seemed to us to be an unusual problem. One of our grown sons knows a lot about electricity and we thought that he might be able to figure out the problem. However, he works very long hours so it would be quite a while before he could get to the problem. We called Tim Redmond's Appliance Repair. Mr. Redmond figured out the problem and called to tell us. It turned out to something that my son could fix easily and quickly at the circuit board.

Description of Work: We had a noisy appliance that was very tough to figure out. Tim came two or three times Nd spoke to me on the phone multiple times as well. He was patient and thorough while trying to diagnose the problem. He even gave me "homework" so I could track when the noise occurred in the cycle and where the sound came from in the dishwasher. Strangly the sound disappeared spontaneously just as it had begun. But for the few weeks we worked on solving the mystery noise, Tim and Linda, who answers the phone for the business, were polite and persistent in trying to help.

Description of Work: As always, Tim first asked by phone what was my complaint - before coming, and then again on-site! One time, he explained that the piping to the refrige/freezer is often a source of leaks. (Tim shares what he knows...explaining what is wrong...if it's 'broken' or just needs a different "approach") ...Example: If I didn't use the ice-maker...Tim suggested, rather than repairing it, why not just shut it down? (Although I still haven't bought a simple, manual ice-tray it would be far cheaper than fixing the 'automatic' one, and less risky than running it and dealing with the leaking, cheap connections). Tim fixed the predecessor. ...It was not defrosting/draining off the water....He showed me that the drain-hole was getting blocked with ice! Tim fixed it... (as I recall), by simply adding/extending a longer piece of copper tubing from the 'heated' automatic defrost mechanism... into the drain pipeline! Thus - keeping the drain-line open! Wow! No more problems!

Description of Work: Very polite and quick. Fixed oven door without any new parts. Manufacturer had made a call and wanted to replace many parts and was going to charge $$$.

Description of Work: Fall 2013. Washing Machine stopped working with a load of wet clothes. Called Mr. Redmond on advice of a relative. I was not disappointed. Early for appointment, and repaired problem (coin had blocked motor). Fast forward january same washing machine would not drain- again Mr. Redmond came and fixed the problem. Sand build up in hose blocking drainage. Removed sand and it worked perfectly....have not had any problems since.

Description of Work: Repaired washer and made recommendations regarding future purchase.
