I gave the company a deposit in April of 2021 to paint two sides of my house in 2021. They did not do it and kept giving me excuses. I finally asked to have my deposit returned and as of this date (3/22/22) they have not returned my deposit. Now I have to take further action. These people are not honorable. I gave a one star because there was no ZERO to give.

We hired Seaside Painting, owned and operated by Rob Robinson, to paint our two decks and two sets of stairs. Rob quoted us “a four day job.” We were impressed with his proposed process of sinking nails, cleaning, sanding, sealing, and two coats of deck paint. We understood and expected weather delays. The job started August 30 and never ended. Well, we ended it on September 17. We had had enough of lack of communication and responses to calls and texts, no shows, poor attitude, and rudeness. When he picked up his ladders and final check, he said to my husband, “You are the crazy man who covered the deck and expected me to paint the next day.” Before the hurricane/rain storm, we covered all the rails that he had sanded and left open and unsealed in an effort to reduce the wood from swelling and from taking a longer time to dry out. On September 13, we texted him asking if he or his crew would be coming to work. While we waited, we spent four hours finishing the painting of the front stairs and rails ourselves. Three days later he responded. By that time we had had enough and told him to pick up his ladders and that we would finish the work ourselves, split the final payment with him which we thought was more than fair. This time he immediately responded and threatened to have his attorney put a lien on our home unless we paid $150 more than we offered. Bottom line: what his contract states as his work ethics, “open and honest communication,” his “proven process” for decks, is unfounded. To his credit, a day after he picked up his ladders and final check, he did apologize via text and mentioned that his company “went bad” and that he “should have been able to finish on time.”

This was a very professional and pleasant experience. The crew was very conscientious about keeping their work areas clean and ensuring things were done properly. It was very obvious that they take great pride in the quality of work they do. We highly recommend this company. The house came out great!

They arrived on time every day and worked quietly & efficiently. They were very pleasant and gladly answered any questions I had. Each afternoon when they left everything was cleaned up and put away. The work was completed in a week as promised and I'm very happy with the end result. I have gotten numerous compliments on the room. Will definitely be calling them for my next project.

The lead paint removal process was performed using hepa-vac-equipped sanding tools. The house was then given four spray coats (two of primer and two top coats). As work progressed, I noticed areas of the house appeared markedly uneven, where the sanding tool had left deep gouges and swirl marks on shingle surfaces. Though the Rhode Island Painters Cooperative job specification they provided stated all surfaces would be fine sanded following lead paint removal, the areas were painted over as is. I pointed out obvious defects to a manager who had stopped by to talk about scheduling with the painter. Without hesitation, he called the condition "unacceptable." Following, some of the most obvious areas, particularly at the house corners, were filled with bondo and repainted. Many defects remain. Some shingles were knocked off during the sanding process. Most, but not all, were replaced before final payment. An oil-supply line between the furnace in my utility room and 250 gallon outside tank was temporally disconnected at the tank for ease of painting access and later accidentally bent and broken by workmen. Rob the manager, without my knowledge nor his being able to see what effect he was having, reconnected the broken line with a coupling by pulling a foot of additional tubing through the utility room wall. The shortened line made it difficult to maneuver in the furnace area of the utility room and impossible to remove the furnace's air filter. The cost was $200 to replace the line, but Rob balked, saying the line was repaired. He referred me to his lawyer, additionally complaining that he had spent more on paint than my $900 paint/supplies estimate had covered (that's about $1 per square foot). Rob also balked at removing the lead paint waste (about 10 garbage bags full), saying it was the homeowner's responsibility per EPA/RI regulations, though the Rhode Island Painters Cooperative specifications he provided clearly stated they would "remove all debris and materials from the work site." Because I did not have a trash service, he acquiesced and removed the bags. The project lacked overall supervision and quality control, though the assigned painter seemed professional and all workmen I encountered were pleasant and polite. If I had to do it again, I would look elsewhere.

It went well. They were very professional, nice and they showed up on time.

They were here on 1/12 as agreed & immediately started stripping wall paper. They worked throughout the day & when they left for the day the walls were prepped & ready to paint. They cleaned up before leaving and when they returned the next day painting was started.. They did a beautiful job. The carpenter came in & installed the wainscoting. FP came back and did the painting. I am very happy with the finished project. They are pleasant and professional to work with. I will definitely call them for my next project.

I have known Rob, owner of FP seaside painting for several years. He has done work for many of my friends. I would not hesitate to refer Rob and his crew. They are professional, punctual and clean up after themselves. You can't go wrong with F.P. Seaside painting especially if you need lead paint removal. They are experts at removing lead paint!!!

ive Rob and his crew did a wonderful job for me, and the five or so families I recommended him to in the last year. As one who regularly works with buyers coming into town, he?s my ?ace in the whole? for paint jobs. Sending Rob in is like sending in your best quarterback, you know he?ll do his best every time. And by extension make me look like I know what I?m talking about when I say ?I know a guy!?

They got the job done in about 4 days. The cleanup was very good. The scheduling was okay but I did not have any deadlines to work with and allowed them to schedule the service at their convenience.

It was good. They started it and then did not return right away. They took on too many jobs at the same time and did not have enough men to do the jobs and made us wait. They sometimes would not show up when they were supposed to and it was not easy to get them back out. The work itself was excellent. The cleanup was very good but I did have to call them back to cleanup paint on the screens.

They were punctual and professional and the guys were pleasant. I was not thrilled with the cleanup. They sent 2-3 guys out to do the job. They got the job done in one week.

The whole process went very smoothly. They sent an employee to give me an estimate on the cost and, soon after, they sent out a painter. The painting took much less time than we'd expected, which made us very happy since it's our only full bath. In both cases, they showed up when they said they would and for how long they said they would. It made scheduling my appointments easy and convenient (I own my own business so this was important!) I would recommend FP Seaside highly to anyone who asked, including friends and family!

The exterior looked great. It was painted the exact shade of red we were looking for and Rob and his crew completed the work very quickly. We are so pleased with the work that Rob did that we have referred them to friends and family several times. I would not consider anyone else the next time a painting project comes around. They are the best around.

Rob Robinson and the crew at Seaside Painting are exceptional! I recently referred a client of mine to Rob and his crew to paint a fairly intricate hallway, ceilings and multiple rooms. The hallway area was very steep and awkward. Rob and his crew maneuvered and painted the area with ease and it looked wonderful. FP Seaside Painting are not only the best painters, but very reasonable and can work within a budget. I would highly recommend FP Seaside Painting for all painting needs.

FP Seaside painting did a great job painting our interior home. They spent one day prepping all the walls, caulking, sanding, and capable of repairing any damaged walls. They repaired several holes in our walls, and filled areas where we decided not to put back pictures. They arrived early morning and stayed until late afternoon. They moved the furniture and covered everything with plastic, and put it back once the job was done. The prices were quoted for 2 coats of paint. i would recommend a primer if you are changing the wall color so you will achieve the actually color you choose, they do not prime the walls first, but use 2 coats of pain. If darker walls, going lighter you may not get the true color. i highly recommend them, and plan to use them again in the near future.

July 2011 - Scraping, Sanding, Wood Repair, Primer Coat, 2 top coats, 2 coats of trim paint May 2012 - Touch up around 20 windows after we installed new replacement windows in the house. Our c1920 clapboard sided house was in dire need of repainting. Years of neglect lead to peeling and cracking paint on nearly the entire house. The FP Seaside team worked for over one week painstakingly sanding, scraping, resanding and making repairs to the wood surface to make sure the primer and paint would stick well. The entire house was 100% primed, then sprayed with 2 coats of exterior paint. The house had lots of oversized trim and crown molding which was all painted by hand. May 2012 - Touch up around 20 windows after we installed new replacement windows in the house. One year after the FP Seaside team painted the entire house we upgraded all of our old wooden casement windows and storm windows with new replacement windows. The FP Seaside team did such a good job on the house painting that we invited them back to do touchups around all 20 windows in the house where the window installation company ended up having to make modifications to fit the windows in. I would definitely recommend the FP Seaside team to my family and friends and would hire them again if I'm ever in need of a paint job.

The paint job was done in a timely manner with the end result being a beautiful new look for our home. Rob and his team of professionals executed the job as stated in the contract and even went beyond that as they helped my husband to return our furniture to the proper positions. Before leaving they made sure all was neat, clean and that we were 100% satisfied with their work. This was the third job that FP Seaside Painting completed for us…we had the cedar shingles on our home stained and all trim painted with an A-1 result about 5 years ago and all bedrooms and a bath painted a couple of years ago.
