I made the appointment 3-days in advance. He was very specific on the phone that the wood stove must be cold before he arrived or he was leaving which is a reasonable expectation. He arrived 1/2 hour early, took one look at the stove and said he was leaving because stove is not 18 inches from the wall. The fact is that this stove was installed 33 years ago and has been used and cleaned many times in the past by other responsible chimney sweeps. I was annoyed because I waited 3-days for his appointment without using the stove and then he leaves me standing on a Saturday with a snow storm coming. The quote he gave me on the phone ($160-185) was much higher than others.

The man who came to the house said he couldn't clean the chimney because the stove was not according to code. There was not enough distance between the stove and the mantle. I was surprised to learn this as it was installed professionally a few years ago. I was even more surprised when the man consulted with the owner and said they could clean the chimney if I paid cash.

I called for an estimate in the morning, he said he can be here at noon. The weather was not cooperating so he called and let me know he will come a little bit later ; and see how the weather will change. Soon as the thunderstorm, lighting and poring rain passed they started working. Overall , quick clean up, friendly service.

Cancelled <24 hours within appointment. With a duplex, this cancellation affected plans with tenants. He said "things happen!" No problem, tried to coordinate another time. When called, he said, "send me an email." I sent an email and a text...no response. Can't comment on performance, but punctuality, professionalism, and follow-up are very poor.

The materials he used checked out and the price was very good compared to the other estimates I received. He was timely as well and the work has held up.
