Eco-Friendly Roof Cleaning

I was a bit diffident about using somebody located so far away (by RI terms), but distance simply wasn't a factor. Charles was right on time for his appointment to spec the job out, and gave me a price right away. I thought it was a bit expensive (but being retired, I think EVERYTHING is a bit expensive), but he seemed to know what he was doing, so---you get what you pay for. When the day came, the weather was crappy, so we rescheduled the following day. Charles called early to say that he had been hung up, and would be an hour late. That was fine, and he arrived exactly an hour later. He has some proprietary cleaning and treating mixture, so he had to mix it up on the spot. He had a single assistant, who went around the house before he started to be sure that there wasn't anything that shouldn't get wet. All he needed from me was a hose and an outside electric outlet. He went on the roof, and didn't come down for over three hours. As soon as he started work, I immediately saw that no matter HOW much somebody paid me, I wouldn't have been able to do that job. Water flying everywhere, slippery 45 degree roof, fuggedaboudit. I watched him work for a while. Very systematic and thorough. I had never thought of roof cleaning as a particularly skilled job, but there was a lot of lichen, and he wanted to get it all, but not damage the shingles. The angle of the power head seemed to have something to do with it. When everything was done, his assistant swept the decks, and put everything back. You'd never know he'd been there, except I now had a clean roof that looked almost new. The only thing I would note, and this doesn't apply particularly to him, but all roof washers, is that the process uses a LOT of water, which I didn't know at first. If you're on town water, this is irrelevant, but if you have a marginal well, this might be something to discuss first. Turned out to be no problem for me. I'd never had a roof washed before, but it enormously increased the attractiveness(and value) of this house, because the shingles in some cases were 15 years old. Good thing to think of if you're considering selling in the near future-in that case it would be a bargain.

Perfect. Stellar service. My roof was covered with moss, lichen and black streaks. I got estimates from $850-1250!!! Eco-friendly did it for $350 and the results could not be better. The roof looks new. Fast, friendly, clean service

He came a couple of hours later than was scheduled but did call back to let us know he was behind. He did an excellent job. The roof was quite dirty and he was thorough and cleaned up after himself. I was very pleased with the results.

I sent them an email and the next weekday I got a call to schedule an estimate. They came out that week and described the process and how the roof is treated. We scheduled the service to be done the next week. We ran into some weather related issues that delayed us a couple of weeks. On the next good weather day they came out and did the roof. Charles was very professional. He was the only roof cleaner I contacted that came to give an in-person estimate. He pointed out areas on the roof and explained the work that would be done and while his price was not the lowest quote I received, it was competitive. No complaints about his work, he seems to have done a good job on the roof cleaning.

First of all, let me start with my conclusion. I would hire Charles and Eco-Friendly Roof Cleaning again in a heartbeat. He was professional, punctual, and excellent with all communication and setting of expectations of exactly what he would do. And his price was very competitive compared to other quotes I had received. I was here to watch him perform the work, and was impressed with the care he took, not only in doing a superb job of cleaning my roof, and doing it safely, but also in cleaning up after himself and making sure the area around the house was just as he found it when he arrived, if not better. In the end, after the roof dried out from the pressure wash, I could not be happier. The roof, which is 18 years old, looks new again. Thank you Charles!

Charles assessed my roof and made recommendations for dealing with the problem. He was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable about the problem and was very careful explaining everything to me. He was able to do the work a few days later. He and his associate arrived on time and got right to work. They did a great job on the roof and the grounds around the house were spotless when they were finished! Very impressive. I was provided an estimate by the owner the same day I called and the work was scheduled promptly. The owner himself did all the work on the roof, along with a younger worker who stayed on the ground and made sure everything flowed smoothly. The results are fantastic and there was absolutely no damage to the roof or the landscaping. These were very pleasant folks to do business with.

He made sure everything around area was rinsed and clean afterwards. He used products that safe with plants and pets . We are delighted with results. Shingles look brand new! I highly recommend !

An excellent experience all around. The estimator showed up on time, gave us a prompt and courteous estimate and date of service. Mr. Hareld (the owner) showed up promptly and did an excellent job. He took special care with the surrounding property and his fee was reasonable. As a bonus, Mr. Hareld cleaned the gutters and left the property clean and damage free. We plan to partake of his maintenance service

It was a pleasure to do business with Mr. Hareld who personally cleaned the roofs. He worked very hard for over 5 hours to complete the work. It went very well and we were very happy with the results. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him. He is a hard worker who took pride the job that he was hired to do.

Very professional job by Charles and assistant. All traces of growth (algae, mold etc) was removed at appointed time. The roof looks great. A two year guarantee is included with a 15% fee for re-treatment. I would highly recommend Eco-Friendly Roof Cleaning.

The cleaning was just about as good as we could have expected.! Our roof was completely covered with "stuff" - during our initial home inspection, the inspector thought it was so bad that we probably needed a new roof. After the cleaning the roof looks almost brand new and revealed the surface underneath to show that it is still in good condition with many years left in it's lifetime. I wish I had before and after pictures - the transformation is really remarkable - there must have been a solid inch of buildup on top of the roof. This cleaning saved us from spending $10k+ on a new roof! The quote from Eco Friendly was a little higher than other providers we contacted, but Eco Friendly offers a 2-year guarantee and also a service program for subsequent cleanings/treatments at a discounted price which we felt added incredible value to their service so we decided to hire them. Charles and an assistant arrived promptly and worked incredibly hard for a full day up on our roof. We were very pleased with the job and would definitely recommend them to anyone else who is looking for a roof cleaning.

Charles did a very good job. The roof looks like it did years ago without the eye sore that was the organic build up. It's a large roof so not necessarily surprised about cost. His work was worth it especially since it is guaranteed for 2 years hope that it lasts until next treatment and will help with snow, etc. not to mention it looks great!

Charles and an assistant washed the gambrel style roof on our house and a shed roof. The roof is about 12 years old and the house faces north. Black algae had started rapidly growing over the last couple of years and was unsightly. I washed the shed roof during the summer using a roof cleaner from Lowes. Although a lot of lichen and moss washed off there was still some left. After Charles cleaned them both roofs look band new. Jim, who gave the estimate and Charles, the owner, are knowledgeable and friendly. The only minor point was that Charles arrived about 90 minutes late. However, shortly after the scheduled appointment time I was called and told he was running late and given the new appointment time.
