Troy and Ace Floor pick up the phone but don’t honor their commitment and lack integrity in dealing customers . They started what was supposed to be a 3 day stair case sanding and refinish job on 6/14/2023. They sanded for 2 days and said they would return on Monday, with still 2 days of staining and poly to go it was now a 5 day project. After no showing we called and were told the schedule was full and they would come back in a week. We explained we had other trades coming in and would need it done sooner. Troy promptly told us he could not help us and suggested we part ways. I would have expected him to say we will get someone out soonest and how can we make it right. This company is a volume business and you are a number…they have 50 jobs a week, as Troy told us. I would stay clear, they lack ethics and integrity

Started out going to a different flooring company (only because we were right near it after lunch). Making a long story short, their entire process did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. In the meantime, saw a commercial for Ace Flooring and said to my husband, let's check them out. Called, phone was answered immediately by Troy, had an estimate within an hour of calling, price was significantly less AND I felt that Ace would stand behind their work without a hassle. Andy, Jim and Larry showed up yesterday by the time they left today we were sad to see them go. Funny, professional, didn't waste time getting the job done, and knew what they were doing, cleaned up everything, never once bumped into my newly painted walls. We are thrilled with the floors. Will be very glad to show off my new floors and will MOST DEFINITELY recommend ACE FLOORING to everyone I meet !!! THANK YOU ACE FLOORING !!! Mary from Coventry

Extraordinarily poor quality and shoddy work: chatter marks across all rooms, gouge marks everywhere, dirt and hair trapped within the finish. Ace offered to come back to 'fix' their work but their work was so poor I don't trust them in our home to do any better next time. They admitted the lousy work and offered to refund a small part of our money- not nearly enough to have the work redone, along with the hotel, movers, cleaning expense. if you hire Ace, DO NOT pay them until the floor is dry and you can inspect their work. Once they get your money you have to take them to court to get treated fairly.

We are extremely satisfied with the quality of this company. Not only did their crew do a fantastic job with the initial installation, but when we asked that they replace a board before leaving they did it without giving us any grief. When we called them back to say we found gouges on two boards they did not try to assess blame, instead they sent a person out to replace these boards at our convenience. The owner's attitude AND the person sent to do the repairwas very friendly and the work was done perfectly. It is a rare find today to find a company that has a desire to do quality work at a fair price. It is even rarer to find an owner that has been able to transfer this sense of pride in quality workmanship to their crew; but, this business has done this in spades. The business has a very friendly attiitude at all levels, and from my personal experience they do only quality work!

Excellent service overall. However the entire house was completely covered in dust on completing of the job and had to be professionally cleaned costing significant additional dollars. They should warn customers about this.

On August 9, 2018 a team of 4 techs arrived to remove or kitchen floor. This was a formidable task as there were several layers of engineered wood that were well attached to the concrete base. Jason, the crew chief, directed the job and with the proper equipment and lots of muscle the job got done. I can’t say enough about the professionalism and attention to cleanliness they demonstrated. Once completed, the floor was ready for tile installation. Great job, excellent team work and attention detail. Very satisfied!

The in-person experiences were good. The team was friendly and very professional. Unfortunately the communication wasn’t great - times were generally not confirmed or communicated without me reaching out to ask. Also, expectations were not well-set. We were under the impression that more restoration was being done than what was actually performed. When I brought this up with Troy, he basically just disregarded my questions and confusion and asked for payment. It should not be assumed that customers are familiar with the process and what to expect without it being explained. The majority of the floor looks great, but had we realized that some major issues would not be fixed, I don’t know that we would have justified spending the money on the job.

Ace wood flooring could not have been better. From the setting up of the estimate to the finishing of the job, Ace Wood Flooring was excellent. They were punctual, neat, professional and the floors never looked so good! I'd use them again without hesitation!!!

Yes, the phone is always answered and messages, when necessary, were always returned promptly. All the workers arrived on time, introduced themselves and they were cleanly attired in company shirts. They were very unobtrusive and cleaned up everything. The work took 3 days and the floor looks fabulous.

We have employed Ace multiple times over the past year and every experience has been flawless from start to finish. Ace always answers the phone, always meets their deadlines, always provides the highest quality service and workmanship. The floors came out great, no complaints there but the application was a bit sloppy. There is some stain on wall trim, cabinet footboard, and on the base of the toilet which did come off with some bleach and heavy scrubbing.

I regret hiring this company. My new floor was installed recently and seems fine. That being said, there are MANY companies that could do just as good of a job and treat customers with respect. The people in the showroom were fine and the person who came out to give the quote was fine as well. This is why I made the mistake of giving my business to Ace. Eventually, I was put in touch with the owner, who handles the details. He was very abrupt and seemed annoyed through most of our interactions, culminating with this... After receiving a quote from ace, we pulled up carpet in the room that was to be refloored only to find crumbled cement from water damage. I wanted to be sure that when the workers came to install they would be able to do so in light of what was uncovered. I called the owner to ask his professional opinion. Since his response was, "Your quote didn't include prep work", I asked if someone could come out to tell me what I needed to have done in order to be ready for the installation which was scheduled for 3 business days later. At 9am on a Friday morning, the owner told me to expect someone there around 1pm that same day. My contactor left another job he was at to drive and meet there for 1. At 2pm my contractor called me to say no one has showed and asked me to find out if they were coming. I called the owner. Someone else answered and explained that he was golfing and also that he had no knowledge of any appointment made for 1pm. I explained that the appointment had been made just 5 hours earlier and suggested he call the name of the worker whose name I had been given to see if they were in their way. He called me back and said that he was not coming. He was held up at another job. He proceeded to point out that they had been to our location twice already. They had been out twice. Once for an initial estimate, once for a revision on the estimate... neither of which had anything to do with this blown off appointment. My contractor had wasted a total of 3 hours out of his day at this point between driving and waiting for responses. A company with good customer service would have at least called on Monday to apologize for the mix up, but I knew not to expect that just from the way I had been treated by the owner along. I called on Tuesday to confirm the installation time. Then I brought up the incident. Me: I just wanted to know if you are aware that the appointment I made with you for Friday at 1 never hap... Owner: YEP (completely cut me off) Me: okay... it's just that my contractor wasted a good part of his day. Owner: OUT OF OUR CONTROL. He got held up. Me: I understand things happen, but... Owner: out of our control Me: well, it is in your control to call and say you aren't going to make it. Owner: he got held up. Clearly we weren't getting anywhere, so I just hung up. I honestly would have been fine if he simply said something along the lines of "I heard. Sorry about that." I was not so concerned that the appointment was missed, but the fact that I was being treated so rudely. This project cost well over $9000 to compete. I'm sure not their biggest account or smallest. I will NEVER consider this company again. Hopefully they put some of their more personable employees in touch with customers in the future.

Sales, quote and overall installation went well and the floor looks very nice. My only objection has to do with an installation detail that went poorly and that's the reason for the B ratings. An unforeseen condition became apparent when the carpet was removed. The photo show that a wall had been removed and the location where the wall had been removed was patched with wood that didn't quite come up to the floor grade. The vinyl flooring was placed directly over the gap and as a result, when you walk on the floor in this area, the flooring flexes and it is quite noticeable. My comments relate to how this was handled. The installers, in general, did a fine job but they never addressed the gap issue with me or as far as I know, their manager. The installers are paid to install, apparently blind to consequences, and not problem solve; that's the issue. I didn't become aware of this problem until the job was nearly complete when I walked into the room to see the progress. I'm sure something could have been done to fill the crack and / or lessen the flex. It would have been nice for them to inform me (I was around all day) or at least let me know they discussed the issue with their manager. Perhaps nothing could have been done or perhaps something could have been done. At least I could have made an informed decision.

Superbly! A prep crew came and ripped up and disposed of the rug and padding (and staples for same) and tack board, then removed baseboards. They cleaned everything and were very professional and courteous. Install crew came in and worked in the room AROUND A PIANO we didn't want to have to move out. They interfaced with the existing floor outside the entrance door and started the rest, making sure all the shades and grain patterns on the boards were nicely mixes. Here's the incredible part- halfway through the work, I had a medical emergency and had to be brought by Rescue to an ER. The crew finished the job superbly, making transitions to an adjoining bathroom and clothes closet and returning the baseboards. A+ job! THEN they cleaned as well as I would have - and closed up our house securely and left a completed job sparkling clean. Every aspect of the job was perfect, from the quote visit, the price all inclusive of the piano moves etc., and quality of work. I had had Ace refinish a rental home multiple floors and was satisfied but this was beyond excellence! I would recommend them without pause to anyone wanting the right job done for the right price with the highest integrity in the business.

Extremely pleased with the work done. We were on a very tight schedule as work had to be completed before we moved in to the house. Troy gave me a date and two teams of workers came on time and completed the work by the scheduled dates. They were professional, courteous and diligent. One minor glitch was taken care of soon as it was reported. Outstanding customer service.

EXCELLENT....The workers were true professionals and craftsmen. They did a great job re-finishing the floors in my home, They also came at the exact time of my appointment. I cannot say enough good things about this company...ACE WOOD FLOORING. Troy ( I believe that he is the owner) even answers his own phone when you call ( RI INFO (401) 241-3966). Not very often that you get a person on the other end of the phone line these days. I have never met Troy personally (his nephew priced the job); however, he seems to be a true professional businessman. He knows his business and hires quality help. (I heard that they do a lot of work for the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and that was the reason I hired them.)I would definitely hire them again. Mark, Matt, Phillip, Josh are just some of the names that I heard and each of them was a true craftsmen. They know their business even at their young age. They have a definite future ahead of them in this field and Troy and ACE FLOORING will certainly be around a long time if they continue to provide the service that they provided to me in my home. Everything went perfectly. I walked into the store on Putnam Pike at 8:30 am and someone was at my house to give an estimate at 11:45 am. Everyone was courteous and professional. The work was done the next week. I thought one of the floors might have to be replaced but when they finished it looked like new. It was the best experience I have ever had with a service provider. I am planning on doing another floor in the future.

Very professional, picked up the phone on the second ring. Refinished 350 square feet of hardwood floors. Did the job within a few days of my call to them. The floors look fantastic, would highly recommend. I think the floors look better now then when first installed.
