I called Positive Energy Electric at 9:00 AM on President' Day and Jay scheduled to come out at noon. He arrived right on schedule. It took him 5 minutes to verify, what he suspected; there are two 120 volt lines that come into the house to power all of the circuits, and combined they create the 240 volts for the dryer. One of the lines had no power. The outside lines were old and frail and the outside meters had rusted contacts (the house is almost 100 years old). He repaired the contact points enough to get power back for the time being, but it was a temporary fix as the wiring and meters desperately needed to be replaced. In addition, water from the outside wires ran into the circuit breaker boxes inside the house, rusting many of the contacts in one of the boxes. Jay took the time to show me all of the problems, as I followed him back and forth outside and into the basement, including recognizing 2 sub boxes known to have faulty breakers. He ordered the meters, wiring and new circuit breaker panel, shuffled his schedule to accommodate me, and arrived exactly as scheduled a couple days later. Jay and his crew were very efficient and professional and the wiring and the boxes are very clean. Jay was at the house about 2 hours to diagnose and patch the problem the first day. He and his crew were there from 8 am to 4 pm the second day. I could not be happier with the quality of the work and the price for the amount of work involved..

When I called they were incredibly responsive, came out the same day to give an estimate, and made a tentative plan to come back and perform the services at the end of the week. Three weeks and many many unreturned phone calls and messages later - the work is still not done and they haven't bothered getting back to me to either schedule an appointment to fix it or to let me know they can't do it. Disappointing and unprofessional.

Since it was a basic job they quoted me over the phone. When they got there they had to run a separate circuit off the breaker box as there was knob and tube upstairs. Their additional fee for this was very reasonable and provides us with a circuit that we can use in the future. We had no less than 3 other estimates done prior to hiring them and thier price even with running the circuit was far less than any of them. Their electricians were true professionals who seemed to work seamlessly together. They used drop cloths and cleaned up afterwards Overall, great work, done in a timely fashion. The B in responsiveness comes from the fact that there was no written quote. However, there was a written invoice at the end and they accepted all forms of payment including check.

Excellent! On time. Office staff always answers calls. Honest assessment of schedule and time frame. This is the way every project with a contractor should go.

Amazing Professional Team from Positive Energy !! Jay is an amazing individual and truly cares about the outcome of the final project and the safety of the home and his workers. Andy and Roland who worked for Jay gave exceptional recommendations of lighting layout and design and truly cared about the family home with their cleanliness and tidiness. Prompt and professional service is the watch word and Jay's motto. Down to the smallest detail went Jay's caring. We could not replace the whole service due to the budget, but Jay was happy to caulk the existing service so we could delay replacing the entire panel and installed the sub-panel at a very reasonable rate. I would recommend Jay and his whole team hands down over any electrician in the state.

Jay and his team did a great job! My house had a lot of old electrical wiring (including some exposed wires, and old knob & tube wiring), so it was quite the project. Their workmanship was really impressive, well-done, and everything you want to see in a quality electrical job; clean & straight & organized wire runs, electrical & data cables ran separately (to reduce noise), good coverage of light & power sources, and just an overall well-organized and structured layout. The difference is night and day in my before/after. The only potential small negative is that of the four electrical estimates I gathered, his was the highest (though only marginally). But, on the flip side, it seemed to be more accurate and true-to-life of the final costs, and he had a much more organized plan & approach than the others. He and his team work very quickly, but still put out quality work and cleaned up everything after they were done to leave it all in better condition than it started. I personally tested every outlet/fixture/light/breaker after they finished, and there wasn't a single issue. And that's despite me buying a large amount of 'smart devices' that were pretty unconventional. Overall a great experience.

Very happy with this company. The night light in my bathroom he recommend. It's a small detail I never thought about, but makes a huge difference! They put my TV on the wall, put the wires in the wall, even set up surround sound and cable. All I had to do was turn the TV on and watch it. I felt comfortable with the crew in my house. He had a lot of good ideas for lighting and I will be having more work done soon. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I would never hire Positive Energy again. They made me pay three times more than quoted, and left debris and huge holes in the walls all over without fixing them. Jay told me that if we waited until his off season -- January or February -- he would give us a lower price. He said that he could do it hourly, and get it done in about a day, no more than two. Well, it took three days, and at the end of the three days he left and the electricity in the downstairs of my house wasn't working. He/his crew only hooked up half the wiring, so it wasn't connected to the switches. Though it was his mistake, he refused to send anyone back to fix it unless we agreed to pay him even more money. They also didn't patch their holes or clean up adequately. There was debris and enormous holes five inches wide, as well as holes around most of the switches. In the end, we paid more than three times as much as he originally quoted, and the wiring is lousy. We can't run the air conditioner and washing machine at the same time because our living room, basement and bedroom are all on one circuit, which he never told us about. He did end up removing all the knob and tube, but he left a lot of other very old, fraying cloth covered wire. The whole thing cost way more than he said it would, was done very messily and we've been told since by other electricians that the wiring in our house is a mess and still not safe. Don't hire Positive Energy.

The service was good. He is nice and even though he did not know what he was coming in for, he was able to do the job. I would hire him again. He called me like as soon as I hit OK on the Deal.

First off when you call, you get a caring person, Laurie. I was given an appointment the next day at 8:00 am. Jay who is very personable and knowlegable diagnose the problem in several minutes and the repairs were made. A job well done in a timely fashion.

From the time of the estimate to job completion was a class act all the way. The estimate was reasonable and nothing was added on at the end. Jay is most personable and so is his wife (who runs the office) and Jay's crew. I highly recommend this company and now would consider no other.

We had an issue with an outlet arcing and catching fire in early 2016. I contacted Positive Energy and they came over as soon as possible to replace the outlet and did a safety check on other outlets (it was a home we recently purchased). During this time, we opted to have GFI outlets added to our bathroom and kitchen to bring the house up to code. Shortly after the new GFI outlets were added, we had an issue in our kitchen where the refrigerator was tripping the GFI outlet. Jay came out to take a look no questions asked. A few months later (April 2016) we contacted Jay about upgrading our panel to 200v and rearranging our circuits. Jay and his team were very clean, professional, and did a great job. There's not much else to write as the service really was top notch. I would highly recommend. Pricing was very reasonable

Very happy with items and services provided!

They came, electrician was nice. He checked to make sure we were okay with the knob and tubing. Took about fifteen minutes. For a full inspection the cost is $250.00. We paid that price without a full inspection!

Electricians arrived on time and were very polite. They worked quickly, efficiently, neatly, including disposing of all packaging & old materials. The fan's spinning and everything else is working, so thus far I am very pleased.

Jay was available within just a few days, was prompt and incredibly professional. He took 2 hours and thoroughly considered all options before deciding on the best approach. His wife Laurie does scheduling and was very helpful. For comparison, another electrician who came said the work would take 5 hours, he wouldnt be available for several weeks, and it would be 4x the cost. Very happy with Jay's work and would 100% recommend him.

Jay immediately responded to my message I sent him thru Angie's List. I called the next day to make a appointment and he was booking for the following week. I explained I was looking for someone to come out that week and he was very accommodating. Jay showed up on time and got right to work. Jay was very friendly and professional. I will definitely be calling him again if I need a electrician.
