Both his carpentry crew and painting crew worked in a very professional manner; organized, craftsmanship, cleanup. Their work was very good. The subs he hires for electrical and plumbing were equally professional and did a great job. Any issues or punchline items were quickly resolved. When they started the project, they worked through until completion. Mike checked in frequently to see how the project was progressing.

+ 0 moreThey did good work on my roof and garage. This first contact was prompt and professional. I spoke with them about additional work on a bathroom job. Had to nag a few times for an estimate, which they sent, but then they stopped responding to my emails and didn't follow through. I also called them later about an inside water leak caused by ice dam, a fairly urgent problem. No response. Bottom line is that despite being highly recommended and doing good, punctual work on a first job, communication completely broke down after that and they left me in the lurch. I've found another contractor who so far seems more reliable.

+ 2 moreMike Artesani, Jr. was very prompt in coming out to provide an estimate and provided a very reasonable price. The crew from Artesani is very professional, skillful, courteous, thorough, and careful. Chris, who does the wallpapering, is meticulous in everything he does. Mike Rego is very thorough and takes pride in doing everything thoroughly. Bob is careful and thorough. They took great care with the house and cleaned up carefully everyday. Dave, who does the carpentry, is very skilled and careful. The entire job took about 2 1/2 weeks. They removed existing wallpaper, scraped and prepared painted window trim and moldings, resized and patched plaster walls, repainted and repapered. We have used Artesani before and will use them again.
Description of Work: painted and wallpapered several rooms, rebuilt front steps, fabricated and installed cast iron railings (sub-contracted), repaired built-in drawers, reinstalled bathroom sink after installation of new countertop, moved and ran new wiring for existing thermostat (sub-contracted)

+ -1 moreMike Jr came out within a day to look over the project to put new gutters and downspouts on the house and we had three other estimates, his estimate was very detailed and his installation method was superior to the other estimates. The job was finished in one day and the crew was professional and cleanup was spotless. This has also corrected a water problem we were having in our basement. Mike suggested we extend the downspouts to resolve the issue of water coming into the basement and this solved the problem as we have had extensive rain and no more water problems

+ -1 moreThey were great to work with. They pay close attention to detail. This is certainly reflected in the stellar quality of the work that they did. But it also reflected in the way they responded to ancillary maintenance matters ( a leaking shutoff valve, a broken sliding door). They not only noticed the problems but corrected them with neither additional charges nor prodding on our part. They are very responsive to any questions or concerns. When we needed to make changes, they were always flexible. We would definitely work with them again.
Description of Work: They remodeled our finished basement. This included new drywall, paint, windows, carpet, sink, countertop, and cabinets.

+ 1 moreThey were outstanding, five minutes early for our appointment, on budget and were the best painting company I have ever dealt with. I have had my house painted four or five times. They did an exceptional job in controlling the paint scraping and cleaning up of all paint chips. They were fanatical about it. This company was extremely professional and always meticulous about clean up in all their finish work. They were truly an exceptional company to deal with. They were a little more expensive than some of the other guys, but they were well worth it because they did such a superior job.
Description of Work: I used W. Artesani & Sons to replace my 19 Harvey windows as well as scrape, sand, prime and then paint the exterior of my house. They also power washed the house, driveway, and outdoor furniture.

They would have guaranteed their work for 2 years. They seem to be a bigger company guaranteeing me a dedicated crew had I decided to choose them.

They arrived on time every day and were very responsive to any questions or concerns. In addition they addressed several minor repairs in the space that were not technically part of the job. And they did this with no additional charge.

The only places that needed any touch-up at all (after 13 years!) are on the window sills as a result of leaving windows open during rain storms and a few dings in the paint on the woodwork. All easily touched up by homeowner. Mike Artesani came by to monitor the work and inspected the finished job.
Description of Work: Prepped the ceiling, walls, and woodwork of 2nd floor master bedroom (~15' x15'). Applied latex primer to walls, ceiling, and woodwork, followed by finish coat.

+ -1 more. The roofing was done very good. It has been 8 years since I had it done. I have been getting requests about them about painting. The roofing was fine but it was 8 years. I did get a quote from the painting division but they were too expensive. They were doing a lot of work on the east side of Providence which has a lot of historical homes so they were expensive. I haven't seen them around though.

Description of Work: Mike Jr came out within a day to look over the roof and we had an estimate that was very detailed and we arranged for a date to start the project that was acceptable to both of us and his crew came out and was very professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. The roof was completed and is now almost 5 years later and there have been no problems and the roof looks great. I have also asked them to go out to my Aunt's house and they cleaned and fixed her gutters and she was very happy with the job they did.

+ -1 moreService was prompt, professional, respectful, and courteous. Most days there was a crew of 8-10 painters on site, well-supervised, and well-organized. They worked carefully on all aspects of the job and responded well to suggestions and questions or to requests to correct any small problems that came up. Crew thoroughly cleaned up ("broom-clean") after each day and stowed all equipment out of the way. Crew was friendly and cheerful. They took great care of the house itself and the yard and plantings. The finished painting job was excellent and completed in a reasonable amount of time (9 working days start to finish, including one rain day and one rain-shortened day.)
Description of Work: repainting of exterior of house and garage, including extensive surface preparation (high pressure washing, scraping, priming); removal of moss and other growth from garage roof; replacement of broken panes and replacement of window glazing compound on windows as needed

Frankly, the son needs to a little prompter and also more knowledgeable about construction. Also, it would be a good idea if he showed up to check the job as it progresses.Can't figure out how he missed an obvious bad leak on an interior wall and thought it was coming from the roof when a radiator was overhead! and leadking through the ceiling.
Description of Work: Mr. Artesani , the younger always came to give us quotes. He was slow ro respond and didn't always seem to diagnose the problem knowledgeably. . The companyy sided the front of our house as the shingles were warped and yet we continued to have a leak in our dining room. It required several calls after the job was done to have them come back and caulk as, there was a noticeable hole in the flashing on our porch roof which was visible from a window l. Seems the men lack supervision. Furthermore when we had a flood of water down our dining room wall Mr. Artesani, Jr said it was caused by a leaking roof. He refused to come and paint the room after we hired another roofing contractor and hung up on me. Later,the painter we hiredtold us that the leak was from a radiator valve in an upstairs bedroom. He was correct! So much for good estimates and problem solving This occurred in the spring of 2009.

I chose them because they seemed to really understand what needed to be done without added expense or complications. The estimate was done very soon after I called--needed modification and was issued an new one really quickly. Once I agreed work was scheduled within a week. John and Butch who did the work were punctual--even early--worked really long days and did a clean professional job--amazing work ethic and clear attention to detail--color matching etc.

One of the windows gave the workers a lot of trouble due to initial mismeasurement and they spent a lot of time trying to get it to fit right, and there were a couple of small problems with that window after installation. They fixed those problems and got everything working in quick time-frame. Very professional, high quality. I have used Artesani for multiple projects (including replacing roof) and would highly recommend them. They are worth their high rates.
