Simon and his crew are the best. Honest, patient, with a "can do" attitude at a very reasonable price. We didn't anticipate finding all the damage from the carpenter ants and I appreciate the fact that he let us know. He treats each project as if he were working on his own home. We're so lucky to have found him on Angie's List!
Description of Work: Replaced front door and repaired damage from carpenter ants. Replaced vinyl siding and repaired a large window that had not been framed properly.

Simon and his crew were excellent! He was by far the lowest bidder (of five) and showed up on time daily. Although the job took a few more days than originally planned, this was due to some surprises along the way. Simon was recommended to us by a friend -- and we are glad he was. The bathroom looks great and the cost was more than fair.
Description of Work: Simon remodeled my bathroom. This remodel included removing an old shower, part of the sub-floor (due to water damage), changing out old electrical outlets and plumbing.
Remodeled Powder Room; including, installing hardwood floor, new door casing, and door molding to improve look of older slab style door, install new ceiling fan, mirror, Chrystal chandelier, vanity. Repair and paint walls ceilings and moldings and doors.
Description of Work: I used "SIMONSAYZFIXIT,INC".

We wanted to have our foyer painted but were concerned about hiring someone who would be careful of the Waterford chandelier, a family heirloom. Plus, the foyer is very high and difficult to navigate because of some large artwork that could not be removed very easily. After working with Simon on two projects, we thought that Simon would be the person who could figure out how to navigate the foyer in a careful manner for a reasonable price. In addition, we had some carpentry that needed to be completed on our entryways. As usual, Simon provided the most professional work for the best price. We are so happy to have met Simon! He is extremely talented and responsible. What's remarkable about Simon is he can tackle any project. He's not just a painter, or carpenter, or tradesman of one specialty. He earned his degree in architecture and applies the tools of many trades with his understanding of perspective.
Description of Work: Prep foyer, staircase, and 2nd floor hallway for painting; Install new 2 ¼” colonial casing on the 4’ entry way to the kitchen; Install new 2 ¼” colonial casing on the 8’ entry way to the family room; Paint foyer, staircase, and 2nd floor hallway using Sherwin Williams color Morning Sun (Eggshell Sheen); Paint all trim work and the doors in the foyer, staircase, and 2nd floor hallway using Sherwin Williams Pro Classic White (Semi-Gloss Sheen).

Our dining room and ceiling needed fresh paint. We considered adding a chair rail, picture frame moulding and crown moulding to our dining room. However, the estimates we received to do the work were $7200, $5000, and $2400. Because of the high estimates, we figured we'd just stick with the painting. However, Simon was recommended to us and we received an estimate of $1930. He finished the project within two weeks of giving the estimate. The work unexpectedly included moving an electrical outlet to keep the picture frame moulding symmetrical, he took care of it and did not charge any extra. This was a complicated project including many measurements and the ability to design. We are very impressed and extremely happy with the outcome!
Description of Work: High quality work at the best price! We are extremely happy with our dining room which was completely remodeled in three days including a chair rail, picture frame moulding, crown moulding, newly painted walls, moulding, and ceiling with the addition of a ceiling medallion. Simon is extremely professional, responsive, straightforward, and honest.

It went very well overall. Simon is a meticulous worker. He usually works by himself on smaller projects and wants to get it done right. The whole process took about 2 weeks. He offered his advice when I asked for it, compared notes on what I liked and wanted, and was able to find less expensive products of the same things I found in store--often of greater quality. It took a little bit longer than some contractors but he got it done right for a great price. He was honest and clear about his work and his charges were fantastic comparatively.
Description of Work: Simon demo'ed my existing full bath and kitchen. He installed ceramic tiling--mosaic in the bathroom, 12"x12" in the kitchen, and large subway tilling up the shower walls. He refinished and painted my wood cabinet faces and doors at his home shop. He painted the bathroom and kitchen. He installed new showerheads, faucet, and dial in the shower. He installed my vanity, new toilet, accessories, and hanging areas.

Contacted company through email address. Took approximately two weeks for someone to call and leave a message. Returned call and left a couple of numbers and best times to call. Still waiting for a call back.
Description of Work: Unable to get a response from the company.
The place looks like a million bucks. He was such a perfectionist and I can't believe I got away with the price I did. I've referred him to a few of my friends who have some painting, remodeling and even addition work they're doing. That's how he gets clients--word of mouth. What better way to share such a great deal than Angie's List? He deserves it. I told him I'd put him up here because I feel like I'm cheating somehow by getting what I did for the money. Specifically, the kitchen flows incredibly well. The bathroom looks incredibly suave/antique at the same time. He gave great insight and recommendations when asked and offered his expertise when he felt necessary. I'm gonna be sure to talk to the Home Owner's Association when we have our next meeting about contracting him for painting out foyer and doing work on our exterior and basement.
Description of Work: In brief, Simon did demo, electrical, plumbing, refinishing, painting, tiling, insulation, sheet rock and woodwork. He does all of the work himself, occasionally employing a co-worker or cousin when extra demo and heavy-duty work is necessary. Since he does not employ a big team and does not do wide-scale advertising, his quote for work came in way under other larger general contractors I contacted. Obviously it seemed to good to be true, but upon seeing previous work he'd done and talking to former clients (all very impressive) I went with him. He was always punctual, a constant perfectionist and came in very close to my budget (I was shocked!). He remodeled a 13' by 8' kitchen and an 10' by 5' bathroom. My place was build in the 1930's and was a REAL fixer-upper. For the kitchen, he ripped up the linoleum, found there was cheap plywood underneath the floor, ripped that out and put down concrete board. Then he placed great tile from a company at a better price than I could get from the home improvement stores with an awesome grout. He sanded and painted all my cabinetry, even taking the doors home to do better detail over a weekend. He put up a great back splash (with great recommendations when I asked for style) and redid my plumbing for my new dishwasher and under-mount sink I bought. For the bathroom, he took down all the walls and outdated tile. He put up incredible large subway shower tile, installed new shower fixtures and rerouted the plumbing for the shower and vanity. He placed awesome floor mosaic tile I ordered. He installed my new toilet and vanity. Plus, he painted my doors and walls.
