Contacted the company through David Epstein who, with the assistance of Amy and Gail, responded to my calls quickly. David and Julio clearly explained the options for replacing a failing heat pump and helped select a new system. John, Julio and Artie worked assiduously to install the system; their Electrician subcontractor, Elliot, hooked it up the next day, followed by Mike, who came out to go over the the system to make sure everything was shipshape, and answered all of my questions. Mike even came back again the following day to bring me a new air filter. Their promises regarding timing, costs and work to be done, were fulfilled. They were all professional, respectful and left my home clean. Of course, it has just been installed, so I have the "new-car" elation of a recent purchase; I will follow up if there are any significant matters to report. Well done.

I received a call from my tenant at a rental property I own around 8:30 on Sunday night that there was no heat. I had put a call in to a plumber that I had previously used in 2008 to unfreeze my pipes at that same property. As of Monday (the 15th) I had not received a call back from that plumber - I went ahead and contacted Mutual Engineering because I had used them to replace the igniter switch in my heating unit in 2014, and in 2015 they came out to inspect the unit to make sure it was in good working order. The technician they sent over was prompt and extremely helpful. He determined the pipes were frozen again, and explained that anti-freeze needed to be added to the system every few years (something the other plumber failed to mention to me in 2008.) He was there for hours trying to get the pipes unfrozen for me without having to break open the walls where the freeze appeared to be. Finally he was able to get the pipes unfrozen, and thankfully the pipes did not burst as the water started flowing through the system again. I will be setting up a followup appointment with Mutual Engineering to get the antifreeze added to my system and to make sure everything is in good working order still. Highly recommend this company.

I contacted them twice asking to discuss converting my home heating from oil to gas. They did not follow up in either instance.

Great to work with. Very professional, courteous, took time to explain things to me and took great care keeping things tidy in my basement. This was a very labor intensive project and I was extremely impressed with how knowledgeable our primary contractor was. Everything went very smoothly and I highly recommend Mutual Engineering to others.

David is a great guy to work with. His prices are fair and you definitely get what you pay for. Gail does a great job of handling the office side of things. I will keep using them for repairs and new installations because they do quality work with no hassle at fair prices.

Kriss Hall arrived on schedule. His work was thorough. He was conscientious, attentive to detail, very professional. He earned an A+ rating. I have been a Mutual Engineering customer for many years. I have been consistently satisfied with the speed of responsiveness and the quality of the work completed.

On a day when an extreme cold wave was forecast, our heating system stopped working. The furnace, as far as we could tell, was off, for some reason, and our complicated hot-water heating system was not working at all. We called Mutual Engineering and a worker showed up in about an hour. He found what was wrong; apparently some kind of sensor was not functional. It was replaced, and the sysem has been working perfectly. This was the second time this heating season that we called on Mutual Engineering. Both times we were very satisified.

We've used them a number of times and their service is excellent. Their price is very competitive as well.

We have been using them for over 30 years and have been very pleased. We have developed a nice relationship with the manager. They are on time, well organized, and perform as expected. I would highly recommend them. We have an annual maintenance plan with them to check the heating and A/C unit.

They were very professional and responsive throughout the process. After receiving some estimates, I was leaning toward going with a larger company. While I was mulling over the decision, the owner of Mutual Engineering called to ask me whether I had any questions or concerns. He addressed each of my concerns, including redesigning the ductwork for only a negligable change in price. We decided to go with them because of their responsiveness, expertise, and price. They installed the unit in one day and actually gave us an even more efficient unit than the one we had paid for. I'd use them again without hesitation.

horrible. they came and pretended to do a service check. all they did was change the air filter. after they left the AC didn't work at all. it had worked before they came! when we called them to come back and fix it, a different serviceman came and said that the hose in the attic was unhooked. well, we didn't unhook it between the 3 days-- obviously the first serviceman unhooked it and didn't bother to hook it back up. after he hooked it back up, the AC worked fine again, but the company had the nerve to send us a bill for the second visit! we had to argue vigorously to get them to cancel the charge for coming out to fix their mistake. i would NEVER use them again.

I'm usually not pleased but I'm very pleased with them. They really do their job well. The person who came, and gave me all the information on the prices; he was very thorough and did not miss out on anything. He gave me good advice all along. His crew came and they were all good. They were very professional and their customer service was excellent.

Quite well. A worker showed up as promised, and after a look he called in a supervisor with more experience and knowledge. The problems were diagnosed quickly and the necessary repairs were made, all on the same day. All very professional and friendly. It wasn't cheap, though, but we think that prompt and professional service is worth it.
