A Traditional Sweep

I would just like to say "Thank You" for the quick service. My elderly mother was almost swindled by a company from out state to repair her chimney for a crazy amount of $$ So I called A Traditional Sweep and they fit me in there schedule for an estimate and were able to do the job within 24hrs and for less than half what the other company was going to charge. They were very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend.

They arrived very close to on time, and completed the work swiftly. They left the hearth and the room cleaner than when they arrived!

They were very professional and helpful, which was greatly appreciated as we had not used the wood stove insert since purchasing the house two years before. They pointed out safety issues with how the chimney had been set up, proposed a solution, and delivered the fill chimney reclining and cleaning on time and budget.

Rich and his guys did an amazing job installing my new woodstove! He took the time to explain all of my options and help me decide what product would be best for my home. Unfortunately the company who we ordered the stove from did not include all the parts in the shipment which was not discovered until the install however Rich contacted them immediately and is coming back to install the missing parts as soon as they come in. He would not take any payment until the job was done to his standards and threw in a pair of fireproof gloves for the trouble of the missing parts which was above and beyond what he needed to do. I would absolutely use his service again and recommend his company to anyone needing chimney services especially insert or wood stove installs.

I was disappointed because he told me although the chimney was in great shape for a 43 year old house it lacked adequate space around it to have fires in it. It was a safety hazard because the person who built it left the original wood form under the hearth. He told me I'd be better off getting a generator installed and handed me a card with a number to call for service. My contractor said not to have huge fires in it because the specs are much better today than 40 years ago.

They were good and they didn't charge me anything, as I didn't have them do anything. He was very pleasant. He came in and looked at everything and checked it out and said the smoke got too big. He said the area is too big so the smoke stays there and doesn't completely go up to chimney. I probably would use them again if I going to redo the chimney.

We called another company, who we found did not service our area, but was referred by them to A Traditional Sweep in Portsmouth,RI. They came at the scheduled time, minus a call to tell us they were running late. Cordial friendly workers who went above and beyond what we expected. One service we thought we needed did not have to be performed at this time, thus saving us $$$$ by telling us, and not doing it anyway, as some companies might have done. They were patient and informative and answered all our ????. I would not hesitate to give this company a referral to friends and relatives along with our high praise for their excellent service. Richard and his coworker, Tim, were prompt, efficient, professional and personable. They explained what they were going to do, reported back to me, and left my house clean. I will use them again and I would recommend them to my friends.

They were very prompt and they called back within a few hours. They did the work on the day that they said they would. They were very prompt and efficient. They did the job pretty quickly.

It's been about 3.5 years since the work and now we having to hire someone else to come in and re-do what these guys did badly. We have rain coming down the chimney because of a poor capping job -- the cement they installed is cracked badly. Also: they covered a crumbling brick fireplace with cement and the cement is cracking. (To be fair, they had told us it might, due to the condition of the bricks underneath.) We have to have the heat shield rebuilt because theirs was such a hack job. Estimated cost to re-do what these guys already did is about $2,000.

They arrived 1 hour early. Completed the work in about 40 minutes. Made recommendations for repair.

This company took over a job that a different company started. The other company was recommended by our insurance company after we had a fire in the hose, but that first company was too far away from us so they turned us over to A Traditional Sweep. Work started in the May 2006 timeframe and completed in December 2006 (six months). This is one of our issues with this company. They would do part of the job, and not be able to fit us in to do another part of it for month(s) down the road. Some of the work was high quality (e.g. installing chimney liners), but the heat shield they installed is a hack job.

THEY ARE THE BEST BECAUSE THEY ARE RUN BY AN EX-FIRE CHIEF. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, AND DO IT WELL. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND THEY PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY WORK.

I THINK THAT THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THEY CAME ALMOST AS SOON AS I CALLED THEM AND GOT STRAIGHT TO WORK. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE FINAL PRODUCT, AND WOULD ABSOLUTELY CALL THEM BACK AGAIN.
