Tammy was very professional on the phone and did a great job setting up the appointment for the repair person. The work was for the repair person to come over and fix a very loud humming sound coming from my brand new Frigidaire refrigerator, but the noise does not happen all the time so I had to record the humming on my cell phone for them to hear in case it was not making the humming sound when they arrived. Service person showed up with an attitude due to directions given to him by is office (not our fault) and then went on to tell me because he could not hear the humming sound he could not fix anything, he HAD to hear the sound. I proceeded to tell him several times that I recorded the sound on my cell phone and that I knew exactly where it was coming from, he refused to listen to the recording or anything I had to say for that matter. He?s supposed to be a professional. All he did was write us a bill for $70.00 and said when I heard the humming again to give them a call. I was shocked that this service person (Steve) was treating a customer in such a poor manner. He did not even open a door or make any effort; he was at our home for a total of about 2 minutes. Would not utilize them ever again

Steve came within time frame stated .He responded to all of my question had to order panel and informed us when part came in and showed us how we could temporarily operate washer with defective part. When the panel came in within a few days, replaced effectively. Well pleased with service from first call to Tammy, to professional response by Steve. We would utilize them again and have.

Christmas morning the wife was heating up a casserole in the oven to bring to her son's house. After a while there was an arcing sound and big orange flash, from the control head section of the range, and a burnt plastic smell. Glad we weren't hosting Christmas dinner! Tom was friendly and efficient. He explained what he was doing re: the recall retrofit and replaced the bad clock/control unit in about a half hour's time. He was also neat and careful; he placed his tools down on a mat to protect the tile floor in our kitchen. Given the time of year this happened, we felt fortunate to get the repairs done on January 2nd. Understandably, we couldn't get someone in right after Christmas. That's the only thing that would have made this experience absolutely stellar. But, even service providers get some time off during the holidays, so 8-day delay notwithstanding, we were very satisfied.
Description of Work: This was a recall repair +. It involved sealing some sheetmetal gaps with tape to keep moisture out and replacing the range-top control knobs (potentiometers). In addition to that Frigidaire sent a new control unit - the part that blew up - as a "courtesy". I received all the required repair parts in advance of my appointment. Technician Tom performed the recall repairs and replaced the burnt out control/clock unit.

We have used them a couple of times. It was probably about $60.00 for them to come out. Their repair costs are reasonable. They had been repairing our stove so many times we finally bought a new one. We spent twice as much on it as a new one would have cost. We had a good experience with them.

When he fixed it, it lasted a good while but then we ended up getting a new one. It went very well, he was responsive, and he was reasonable in his fees. I hope by now he's going to Weight Watchers because I thought I was going to have to pull him out of some tight spots for a while.

Repairman arrived right on time, confirmed that the problem was as I had described, worked carefully and quickly to repair the door. He was neat, courteous and appeared to be highly qualified to do this sort of work.
Description of Work: Installed repair kit for the springs that support the heavy door to the dishwasher. One of the spring assemblies broke. The part looked to be poorly designed.

Our new room air conditioner was not cooling (still under warranty). At the time of the service call, it "was" now cooling. Tom gave me a couple of things to check and asked me to get back to him with more details. When I got back to Tom, the diagnoses was that the compressor wasn't working. He checked with Frigidare for us about the warranty repair. In the long run, it was more advantageous for us just to return the unit. I would highly recommend New England Appliance Repair.

Customer service from scheduler/dispatcher Tammy was great. Steve did a good job and discussed my options with me. My appliances are very old, so we talked about what repairs are worth doing considering the value to the appliances. I appreciate his frankness.
Description of Work: Steve checked the electric range to look for what caused the breaker to trip. Didn't find anything; but the range is working well for now. He advised me that it would cost more than it's worth to fix the one malfunctioning thermostat (range is 30 years old). Then he replaced a part in the electric dryer and one in the washer (also very old appliances). Both are now working well.

Ironically, I joined Angie's list to avoid dealing with a company like this. The technician came to my home early in the morning on a Wednesday, figured out the problem and promised to call back that day with a quote. Didn't receive a call that night. Noticed on the invoice that they wrote my phone number down wrong. Called them back to give them my correct number. No call Thursday. Called them on Friday to ask about the quote, they promised the technician would call me. No call. Monday came, and no call, so I called them back. The receptionist said the technician would DEFINATELY call me that day. No call that Monday, no call Tuesday. If there was a problem finding a part, fine, let me know so at least I know some work is at least being attempted. If a service company can't offer customer-service, they won't get my business or any of my colleagues business. Bush league operation. The receptionist was friendly,
Description of Work: The touchpad on my Kenmore range was not functioning properly. Called a technician in to assess the problem, provide a quote and, ultimately, repair the range.

I called to have my washing machine repaired. They were very happy that I had used Angie's list to find them. They were very nice on the phone, but were in the process of moving the location of their business and were unable to offer next day service. They were very honest and apologetic and I would call them again in the future to give them a chance to do the work.

He showed up on time. He fixed my dishwasher that wasn't draining and wasn't anchored properly, and my dryer that had a loose connection that caused it not to shut off when the door was opened. He completed the repairs promptly and charged a fair price.

The repairman was on time, extremely friendly and polite (my cat liked him too), and he explained everything he was doing as he did it. He knew exactly what questions to ask to diagnose the problem, which was because the installer failed to remove the plug from the garbage disposal where the water was supposed to empty. It was diagnosed and fixed within 15 minutes. I will call them again for any appliance problems I have.

My initial description pretty much says it all. Once again, I am very satisfied with this company's performance and always call them first if I need service. I have a service contract on my appliances and when I call in for a repair, I specifically request this company.
Description of Work: My 10 year old dryer finally gave out and I needed to decide whether I should invest in a new one or have the old one repaired. Although the serviceman's schedule was booked solid, he realized the urgency of my situation and made arrangements to start his work day earlier than normal to accomodate me. He explained I needed a new motor and investigated the cost of the part ahead of time so I could determine the most economical way of dealing with the problem. He explained that the motor was the major part of the dryer's mechanism, gave me a price to repair it and made every effort to get the part immediately. There was no pressure to have the repair done, and he was very knowledgable regarding questions I had about the best brands to buy and the different features that dryers have. After comparing costs, it was more economical to have the repair done. Once again, he made every effort to get the job done as soon as the part arrived. The fee for the service call itself was very reasonable, and it was deducted from the final cost of the repair. While he was there, he also looked at another appliance I was having trouble with and advised me on how to deal with it. I have used this company many times and have always been totally satisfied with their quick and professional service.

A great experience. Total professionalism and timely service made this an A-1 company. I highly recommend them to future users.
Description of Work: Our dryer had stopped spinning. Was almost positive the belt had broken. Happened late Sunday night. With the Monday snow storm called one other company and NEW ENGLAND APPLIANCE REPAIR. NEAP and the other company would both come the next day, but NEAP would put the $65 fee toward any repairs, the other company would not. NEAP showed up at 9:00am Tuesday right on time, replaced the belt and a pulley on dryer. Tom, the tech also pointed out how the plug was improperly bolted on the wall and fixed this as well.

Absolutely wonderful. Even though the source of the leak was not discovered, Tom told me that if it happens again that I should call immediately and he would be back and that he has all of the parts in his truck so that it could be fixed immediately (whatever "it" is).
Description of Work: I own a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher which flashed an F1 code that meant I needed to turn off the water and electricity to the dishwasher and call an authorized repair company. After obtaining a list of authorized reps I contacted New England Appliance Repair because they had a good rating on Angie's List. They said they could be at my house between 11 and 2 the following day and were very accommodating and said yes when I asked if the repair person could call me 20 minutes before arriving so that I could go to work and wouldn't have to wait at home the entire time. Tom called me at 9:30 the next day to say he could be there earlier and we arranged to meet at 10:15. He took the bottom drawer out and said that the dishwasher had leaked. He took the entire dishwasher apart to try to find a leak but couldn't find anything. He ran both dishwasher drawers to again attempt to see if they leaked which they did not. He was there for quite a long time and did all he could to find the source of the problem to no avail. I was impressed with his work and his determination to do all he could to fix the problem. He was so neat that he even wiped down my countertop after he noticed that there was water on it.

Came promptly, took time to figure out what was going on. The replacement part needed to be ordered, which took a little longer than expected but once it came in they called and scheduled another visit. The work was done quickly and well. Both service people were extremely nice.

The temperature on my oven was fluctuating a lot and New England Appliance came a day after I called. He adjusted the spring and it does seem a bit better but I think it is time for a new stove. This was not the fault of the service people. I think they did the best they could. I do recommend their services even though the price was a bit high.
Description of Work: They diagnosed the problem with my electric stove. They ended up adjusting the thermostat and a spring inside it.

I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW QUICKLY THEY REPAIRED THE FRIDGE. IT ONLY TOOK THE WORKER A FEW MINUTES TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM, AND THEN TO REPLACE THE BURNT OUT PART. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE, AND I WILL CALL THEM IF I HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.
