Description of Work: The Kitchen and Countertop Center of New England was kind enough and extremely generous when they donated a kitchen remodel for our Teacher's Lounge at Hamilton Elementary School. We were in dire need of new cabinets, countertops, a stove, sink and refrigerator - basically the works. And WOW!!! What an amazing transformation. KCCNE provided everything brand new for us -- a beautiful stainless steel refrigerator and stove, granite countertops, stainless steel sink, new faucet and gorgeous cabinets. The gentlemen who came to work on the project were very professional and respectful. They worked within our time restraints, came when they said they would and finished in plenty of time for us to enjoy our kitchen before the school year ended. Everyone at Hamilton Elementary can not thank KCCNE enough for their generous gift!!! Their workmanship is top notch and I would highly recommend them for any project.

Description of Work: (This service was performed in 2000, not 2012, but your calendar wouldn't allow me to go back further. Perhaps the date should be kept in mind and maybe they're better at their work now...) |They remodeled my kitchen. There were a lot of small issues that could have turned big if I wasn't watching them carefully. One subcontractor (which they weren't supposed to have subcontractors - they claimed they had all their own workers) left an open AND LIVE wire in the ceiling. They had to re-tile parts of my kitchen because the stove covered the whole back splash design (another subcontractor). A whole host of things like that kept happening because they were in a big hurry to get the job done. On the other hand, they had a wonderful carpenter that was one of their employees. He wasn't in a hurry - but Joe (the owner) later told me he left the company because they didn't have the same philosophies. All in all, there was too much grief to rehire or to recommend them.

Description of Work: We went to KCCNE for a granite kitchen counter top and ultimately decided not to use them. I never got a call back after leaving several messages and it felt pretty much like our job was too small for them to bother with. Maybe they like the bigger jobs. After several tries we did get a quote from them which was much higher than other places. On the plus side, they have a plumber on staff which would make that part of the installation easier.

Description of Work: This is one of the 4 companies we interviewed for our kitchen remodel last year. We did not go with KCCNE due to their rudeness, high pressure tactics, cut-rate attitude toward the work that needed to be done and the poor quality of their cabinets (builder's grade). Unlike some remodels ours was made more difficult because we needed to shore-up the kitchen floor as it was off by 2-1/2 inches from the front to the back meaning the floor had to be leveled. Rather than investigate under the floor to see what needed to be done, the owner of the KCCNE said he could put a couple of posts under the floor and that would solve the problem. Apparently he thought we would not know any better. When we visited the showroom and met with the designer, I couldn't believe she wasn't even going to personally come and see the kitchen to come up with a design. So, quite honestly, I ended up doing the design with no creative input from the her since she had not been out to the house. Additionally, when I was shown the granite in the parking lot, I thought it was pretty much what you might expect from a big box lumber store=very boring. Plus you may not be getting the best quality and prices from a "one-stop shop" rather than shopping around. When we wanted to have a meeting with them to discuss the design, pricing,etc, we could only get an appointment at 4p on a Saturday - not at our convenience - the client. We were upfront with KCCNE and told them we were also getting other bids and designs. Apparently this is a big no-no with KCCNE because we received a call from some assistant and were told that we needed to make an immediate decision that day (on a Saturday without a final confirmed price, design or work plan) or they would be too busy to do our renovation as they had 800 inquiries from the home show. That pretty much showed me how unprofessional this company would be to deal with and the high-pressure tactics they were employing certainly told me that although they could deliver a new kitchen start-to-finish in 4 weeks, I could find another company to do the work. Buyer Beware Regarding Reviews on Angie's List - they are not all from honest sources.

Included tearing out existing kitchens, ripping down walls and a chimney, completely updating all electrical and plumbing and installing new custom cabinetry, countertops, tile floor and backsplash. Also did remodeling - opening doorways and fixing ceilings and walls.
