G&R's Appliance Repair

They never showed up for a scheduled repair on my washer that has a Lowes Protection Plan. Did not confirm date and time, did not return call and messages left on their phone.

Did some of my own "homework" through KitchenAid.com to diagnose the problem & get the correct part needed (which I bought through Sears parts direct). I/we installed the control board but it still was not working (got a NEW error code). Found info online about needing to "re-program" the new control board but still could not get it to work. Went back onto KitchenAid.com to schedule an appt for a technician - was able to book an appt through G&R appliance 2 days later between (8-12). On that day I got a call (around 11:00 am) from the technician "Matt" that he was 10 minutes away, he showed up on time, very polite & professional. He verified the problem and contacted KitchenAid to verify the codes/process and got it working. So the problem might not have been that difficult to remedy (sometimes another part is required for that problem - but thankfully it wasn't), but I still give him/them a good review. I cannot speak for any of their other technicians, but I was happy with Matt.

They diagnosed and fixed the problem in one visit.

Called and scheduled service because this is one of two companies that do warranty repair for Kitchen Aid in this area. First time I called to schedule I waited 2 days for service. The guy came out, told me I'd left the door ajar and was responsible for my problem, charged me $80 and left. (I did no such thing) Coils froze over again two weeks later. This time I called on a Monday and they didn't come out until Thursday. Defrosted the coils again, said "well I can't find anything wrong with it, maybe it's this fan" (a small voltage tiny fan used to keep moisture off the evap coils ... which is probably NOT the problem) but I let them go ahead and order the part. Two weeks later I get a call saying they need to order the part (why wasn't it ordered the day after my last date of service??) and was told it wasn't under warranty (it is) but they won't tell me who called kitchen aid and confirmed that it wasn't out of warranty. It's a cheap part and I NEED MY FRIDGE. The next week it happens again. I call on a Friday. They can't get anyone out until Wednesday. Today he comes and takes apart my fridge only to find that they ordered the wrong part. He puts everything back together without defrosting my coils (claims he doesn't have a steamer and the company doesn't have enough steamers to send out with employees), so I still have no working fridge. They won't send anyone back out. They won't make any accommodations to get my fridge defrosted even though this has been an ongoing problem since the end of June. Horrible. Never use these people.
