Kevin helped us plan the job and he did it exactly as described. He is very professional and extremely competent.

Throughout the process Kevin was respectful, professional, and honest even to the extent that he wanted to warn me about a crack that might get worse if he jack hammered and he wanted me to be OK with the risk. It didn't get worse. I would hire Kevin again in a minute!

He was very professional and punctual, and the job was done well. Perhaps I should have discussed beforehand about how well the color would match the existing concrete. It's much lighter, but I'm told it will darken.

Everything went great!! Kevin decided that because of the time it takes to complete the process that he would only work on one of them at a time. Because of the heat spell at the time he didn't want to have to rush due to the concrete drying to fast. He finished both walkways and we couldn't be happier. My wife and I are do-it-yourselfers so relying on a contractor isn't something we are used to. Kevin was great to work with. He communicates very well through email, Text and phone calls. He showed up exactly when he said he would and completed the work exactly when he said he would. We had a couple of after hours questions and he was always available to answer any questions we had.... Great Experience overall and my front yard has never looked as good as it does right now!!

Kevin came and gave me an estimate on the garage apron. He then suggested he use the extra concrete to do the step on the side door of the garage. Kevin communicated with me through out the project. He was here when he said he would be, and on time. I watched him while he was doing the project. I did this to learn from him. He patiently explained to me what he was doing and why. Kevin had great attention to detail, took great pride in his work, did what he said he would and was very professional. He left the work site clean and neat, no big chunks of concrete for me to get rid of. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend him.

I met Kevin through a friend/co-worker who recommended him to price out my upcoming patio project. Kevin's price was competitive with two other reputable contractors and communication was good at first. The quote was $3500 included the complete job (the site prep work, forming, labor, concrete, release agent, etc) the only overages would be if I choose to color the concrete and/or wanted a stamp pattern he didn't own, therefore would be rented. ($200 rental fee, which I opted for) During the site work he changed the format of payment, he asked me to pay all the supplemental aspects of the job myself, and he would deduct it from the $3500. Example: I pay the bobcat operator and crew $500, and he would subtract that from the original price. This is different from the traditional format that I am comfortable with, where I would pay Kevin and he would then pay whatever costs are associated with the job. However I agreed as long as it didn't surpass the original quote. Kevin's bobcat subcontractor was very capable but knew very little about how Kevin wanted the land prepared. At times even asking me questions about grade, and processed gravel that I know little about. Kevin NEVER came to check on the progress or to enter any input and thus the yard was prepared improperly. On the day he formed it I happened to be home and witnessed his disapproval of the site. He then ordered 6 additional yards of crushed stone that he said was an unexpected cost I must incur. Then preceded to tell me he was going to charge me extra to spread the stone even after I had already paid for a bobcat to spread stone earlier in the month. After leaving his labor ready worker to finish up called to inform me that I need to drop this employee off at a coffee shop so he can be picked up there. As costs were adding up I called Kevin to make sure these expenses would be coming off the original $3500 as discussed. He began to get defensive and condescending about the "construction process" and eventually stated he no longer wanted to do the job. At this point we came to a civil agreement that he would leave the wooden boards he had put up, and compact the gravel area so it would be ready for whomever I found to finish the job. This conversation ended with "no hard feelings," I was to leave a check for $450 for the 4 hours he had worked and for borrowing his wooden boards. Knowing that I was at work, he showed up with only my wife home at 7:30am and took down all the wood he had agreed to leave. My wife not knowing completely what was going on at least was able to grab the check from the back door. I am left with 25% of a patio and struggling with this unfortunate situation. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Kevin arrived at my home on a Sunday (as that was for my convenience), to look at the projects I was thinking of. We discussed the replacement of my walkway and driveway, and my hopes had been for "stamped concrete". Kevin explained to me that the stamped concrete albeit attractive, would not be the best option for me. He educated me with the details of using it in the locations I was looking at and the risk of deterioration, due to the heavy application of salt, in our area. The explanation was clear and made sense to me. I opted for the traditional concrete. Additionally, I had stairs at the front of my home, that were in desperate shape, so Kevin installed a beautiful set of precast stairs. Before getting the project started, we discussed many details that Kevin has a keen eye for. He is a perfectionist, and cares about "your" project as though it was his own. My project was done in one week and one day and Kevin checked in with me every day, to be sure the progress was to my liking. Many companies might have rushed to get it done in a shorter window, but Kevin understood that I needed access to one door or the other, at the end of the work day. I really appreciated that consideration. He first took care of my front stairs and walkway, and once that was fully set up, he came back a day later to take care of the driveway. I know a lot of contractors might have considered this to be a small job, but Kevin told me "no job is too small", and for that I was thankful! The end result is so impressive. I have had so many people compliment, in such a short period of time. I surely would recommend Kevin Gonslaves for any project he would do for you, as he clearly cares about the end result, but more importantly, he cares about your thoughts are of the end results.

The new walkway looks great I asked Kevin to replace the walk as part of new landscaping project. There is a swirl to accent the masonry design that Kevin had offered in his proposal.I get many compliments on the finished work. Kevin was able to start the work as stated and even got in earlier than expected. I would recommend his work to anyone.

He does not do this type of repair but gave me his best advice on a solution

The work was done very well. Kevin was able to start the job earlier than stated. and was communicating with me daily regarding what the work would consist of and how it would fit with the new landscaping I was planning. The specs of the concrete are perfect for the new lawn planting. The walkway looks wonderful and I would recommend Kevin to anyone.

I recently purchased a new house. The concrete was cracked in several locations in the 2 car gaareg and sunken in which would have caused challenges for putting a car in the garage, storage in some areas, and drainage/water pooling. Originally, I just wanted to patch the cracks and fill in some concrete. After finding Kevin on Angie's List with great reviews, I made an appointment for an estimate. Kevin was very upfront that just repairing the floor was not the answer becuase it woudl be cracked again in less than 6 months. He woudl not do the job for the repair. I respected that as he takes pride in his work and business. I then had him rip out the old floor, put in gravel to stabilize the base, and put 5 inches of concrete in for a new floor. I am very happy with the new garage floor as well as the whole experience. Kevin came out for an estimate the same day I called, he explained everything to be done step-by-step, was able to do the job sooner than anticipated, and followed up with my daily to make sure I knew where the project stood. He then called me after it was completed to make sure I was completely satified. I highly recommend Kevin.

Spoke to Kevin and sadly he doesn't work in MA as he is only licensed in RI. Compared to many contractors, he was unique in answering the phone politely and once he realized I was out of his area, he answered my questions instead of hurrying to get me off the phone.

I went on Angie's List- read about Kevin as my company's building was in need of repair ( an old mill bulding) so i called Kevin- discussed it with him. I took some photos and e mailed them to him so he would know and he was here the next day. When he was done, he took me out to show me what was done and some extras which were done by him as well. All in all- EXCELLENT A+

Kevin subcontracted with a colleague who removed the old concrete. He arranged to have new concrete delivered and poured from a reputable local company. Kevin was very responsive and completed the work promptly and professionally. We are impressed with the quality of his work; he is attentive to detail and very thorough. Kevin called us about a week after he completed the work to be sure we were satisfied.

The work went very well. Kevin cleaned and reset all the steps and put them back together almost like a puzzle.The result is a beautiful job because he takes pride in doing his work very well. He has to be part artist to do stone work! In addition, the cleanup was well done. My husband and I were both very pleased with Kevin's work and would definitely recommend him to others.

Kevin showed up on time and even a couple of days when I didn't expect them because of bad weather. He was on budget and pretty easy to work with, explaining things as the job progressed.

Responded same day to my call - was polite and professional - did the work as soon as the rain stopped for a few days! Even patched up a few extra spots I hadn't even mentioned. A pleasure to do business with.

Needed an area of a concrete walkway and a step on on our back stairs replaced. Kevin responded quickly, gave us a fair estimate and the work was done within 3 days, considering all the rain we had. We would recommend him to friends and would also use his services again. THANKS KEVIN!!

While I did not end up choosing Kevin to do the work, I was still VERY impressed with his professionalism and follow up. He was punctual, made money-saving suggestions, and followed up with me to make sure I had all the information I needed. His quote was slightly higher than a competitor's who was equal to Kevin in his Customer Service skills. I would definitely consider Kevin for future projects.
